  1. I have to admit they're nice for lower levels if you need a quick get away. For instance, I don't like fast traveling much because it spoils my experience. So I get a horse. Along the road chances are I'll see a bear, pack of wolves, necromancers, etc... that I don't feel like fighting, and with a horse I can easily out run them. They can also climb steeper gradients. Other than that, no they're quite blah. I've had horses that have been smart enough to run away when they're health is low, but not always.
  2. ROFL! I love runes. :D I wish there was a vid of this. That's prime entertainment right there.
  3. I'd say the Dunmer or Argonians. I actually got a lot of grief in Windhelm as a Dunmer (and to top it all off, I sided with the Empire. So they really loved me over there.) I was "refused service" from the innkeeper in Candlehearth, got into a brawl with Rolff because he insulted me, and got a cold remark from an Argonian working on the docks. But really it was just in Windhelm the racism was bad. The worst I'd get anywhere else is an occasional guard mumbling "Stay out of trouble, elf." I haven't played as an Argonian yet, so I don't know what an Argonian PC has to put up with.
  4. How was Oblivion better? If I heard "All hail the Champion of Cyrodiil!" one more time I'm pretty sure I'd go postal in the Imperial City. Oh wait...
  5. Why can't I have bugs like this?
  6. Same thing happened to my husband. What seems to work is you go into either the Shrine of Talos (that's what we did) or Understone Keep and let the guards confront you there. You have to make sure you're not stopped along the way there, though, so either sneak or use invisibility potions to get there.
  7. I was having the same exact issues in the lower levels. What I did was join the Dark Brotherhood and got the fancy shrouded armor. I also concentrated on leveling up Stamina which allows me to do more power strikes, then the battle never really lasts long enough for me to get hurt too bad. And invest perk points into basic blade/archery damage early so you can kill with fewer strikes. You know, best defense is a good offense type thing. I also invested a lot in Magicka so I could perform illusion spells. The calm and fear spells work wonders on charging bears and sabre cats. Also, as an alchemist, I make plenty of restore health potions and have them with me at all times. Then if things really get bloody, I can usually slip/run away long enough to gain some health back. Yes. Running like hell as served me well in this game. :P I haven't had that much trouble with dragons on default settings. I invested in basic damage with my bow and use poison a lot. I also usually have my husband, Marcurio, travel with me a lot. He's been a BIG help. I've been thinking about making life a little more challenging and playing as an Agent type class like I did back in Oblivion. With no specialization in armors, it makes things quite interesting.
  8. Illusion hands down. When the going gets tough, summoned creatures and zombies won't stop anyone in their tracks when they're coming after you with a big warhammer, but a demoralize spell will make them turn tail and leave you alone. Plus, using fenzy spells, you can get enemies to fight each other instead of charging you.
  9. My char neither loves nor hates the Thalmor. As long as she keeps getting contracts and getting paid, she doesn't care. Do I hate the Thalmor? Yes...the Nazis... Unfortunately they seem to have the best looking males among their ranks. Damnit, Bethesda.
  10. I teleported (fast traveled) to a random camp that I thought I cleared out before to fetch something for a mission. A dragon happened to be there that was attacking the Foresworn that were supposed to be cleared out, and there were other enemies there, too. At one point I was fighting off a dragon, a tribe of Foresworn, hagravens, an angry giant, and a pack of wolves all at once. How I made it out alive I have no idea. If it wasn't for Shadowmere and Marcurio I probably would have died.
  11. Just unequip the arrows like you would any other weapon.
  12. The Altmer look snobby and vindictive, the Dunmer look cynical and vicious, and the Bosmer look wild and savage. I think it's a vast improvement from Oblivion. In Oblivion, unless you were a beast race or an orc, everyone looked the same except for the skin color. No they're not classically beautiful like elves in LOTR and that's fine with me, although I have to admit some of them are attractive in a rather alien and exotic way. Good thing, because I don't have the luxury of mods on the XBox.
  13. Don't care. Whenever someone tells me to kill, I kill. They threaten me, I kill them, too. Hail Sithis!
  14. Having a hard time deciding between Nazir and Sondas. Nazir is awesome in that effortlessly cool kind of way, and I love his sense of humor. And Sondas is like the Dunmer version of my father.
