  1. I plan to get back to finishing all the documentation I started. Both for myself and anyone who need it. But, here is the somewhat cleaned step by step instruction on how to get it working properly, and that is Before modding. It is not complete and it contains some errors but it gives an insight in what has to be done if you want it foolproof and smoth running. "Link to file removed as it no longer sits in the repository at DropBox" I remember having trouble with the babybook1 and babybook2 so do not compress those.
  2. Hi I´d love to contribute with what I can but since i recently got a job after almost two years out of work it does take most of my time right now and I am not that often logged in. But, Kitty know what we have done and if I have anything that can be useful she knows how to reach me. I share whatever I have. Christer
  3. Thanks. I will look into it. I call myself noob but had used up my available data (70GB) during january on this with downloads and videos so I´ve gained some understanding of the process although it´s a long way to go still.
  4. I´m sorry if I upset someone but I´m new to modding and I think that there is more like me who needs a better start. First of: I´m currently only trying to work with Fallout 3. Must focus on one game to use as a learning platform for using mods and later hopefully create my own. I have tried to read a lot and used Videos from all over the Place to get a grip of what tools to use and how to use them. But there is problems... The Pinned topics is from 2008 and 2009 with a lot of broken links. They describe tools that is outdated or not longer available. Sorry to say the same goes for many of the instructional videos and some of them are just a year old. I have noted that some recent answers in forums describes use of tools thar are no longer available. I understand that it is personal preferences as well as a long time with modding that decides what tools to use. Personally as I´m new to this it just gets me confused. I started up using FOMM and installed LOOT, FO3Edit, Geck, Wrye Flash and god knows what. Tried to find recomended tools like BOSS that is mentioned all over the Place. Recently restarted all this work with NMM. But for me this is not an option. BOSS is not available any longer so all references to that tool is of no use, have no clue how it works, and a lot of the other toos instructions are outdated or in some cases non existing. I would like to place a request if that is possible. Please, can someone who is experienced in modding create a short introduction to "current tools" that are avalable for us noobs (when writing this my NMM just tells me of a new update) . I know, that would be as starting over and thats exactly what we are doing. That would help a lot. I am amazed of how much effort is laid onto some of these topics and instructions and I want to thanks for that but if they are to old, sorry. That does not help me. ChristerC
  5. I have now been with you for six whole days, still a newb, and during that time I´ve tried to learn how to install and create mods. Downloaded a set of "recommended" mods and tools in attempt to prepare an even better run for next try. But most of all, I have been trying to get the game stable on Windows 10 and read multiple sugestions on how to get it working properly. There is tons of things that can go wrong and it does and as it is an old game most articles are to old to be of any use ore are too cluttered with comments to be readable. I've learned though that my greatest problem is caused by the fact that I have two monitors so if I disable one and runs it Windowed I have a much better chance of playing for a longer time. Without mods the game crashes now and then without a clear notion of why. With mods it is the same but some do create more problems. It is still hard to say if it is the mod or the environment that causes this. Anyway, with the mods I´ve got a new game. I was considering buying new hardware for Fallout 4 but it can wait. If that game is half as good as this then why hurry. There is tons of experience still with this game that I want to explore thanks to you guys and girls out there.. Yes. It´s because of the great amount of time you all put into this now or earlier that this is still inspite of it´s age a very good game. So with this I just want to thank you all for a very good job. Just sorry I did not find out before.
  6. Thanks for the guide, I think. I´m trying to grasp the way this works and slowly I get further along with the tools but Wrye was a tough one. It seems as more or less all content concerning basic operation of Wrye is deleted july 2012 and hence the Learning curve is pretty steep. Christer
  7. Hello all out there in the Wasteland or whatever I'm new to Fallout 3 (only played it through two times as of yet) but I have followed Fallout since it all started and been playing game all my Life (long Before computers). Now, unemploeyd as I am I have tons of time to spend so why not try to make som mods and why not to a game I love. So that´s why I´m here. To learn of the best and maybe, just maybe, make som contribution from my point of view. C ya out there
