Very valid and appreciated feedback. There are things we wanted to add but simply did not have enough time to implement well. Ultimately We wanted a lot of content because we wanted the world to feel full and immersive. But dont worry, we certainly try to improve on everything we do based in no small part from fan feedback

Im glad i was wrong, i been thinking this for a while to be honest, but im gratefull you cleared that up. Also its nice to get some insight on how you worked and how things have gone with the process, thank you....there is 1 thing though that made me absolutely happy...i wanted werewolfs since bloodmoon and you guys did amazing job with them in skyrim....when i first heared they are in and saw the gameplay i swear i was jumping 30 feet high. Werewolves is one of those things that needed a lot of extra after hours love to get it in so you guys could have it. I also happen to be the individual who created them ;) My wife is the one to thank though for supporting me and putting up with the crazy hours!

While I am greatly enjoying the game, I can understand some of the people being critical with the game's flaws (which it does have). And no offense intended, but merely saying "We worked hard on weekends and holidays with no extra compensation" during a past-deadline-due-project would not fly at my work place. As much as that statement is appreciated, you guys aren't doing this for charity. You're being payed, and your salary depends on the purchases of the consumers. And your goal is to please the customer, or else everyone is out of a job. And I assume the people that are working hard such as working on weekends are doing this to finish their objectives on time. Now as I'm sure many people, as well as you are aware of, when I am given a project, I have to finish everything by the deadline. It doesn't matter if I have to stay up 4 nights in a row to finish the task given to me. The boss only cares about the end product, not how much hours I spend agonizing over it. I am not payed extra for whatever extra hours I spend at the office, I only get paid when the customer signs the check. So if you were to say "We didn't spend extra hours to finish the game on time", that's what I would call irresponsible. Saying "We spend countless extra hours at the office" is just doing your job properly. Now people criticsizing the UI, I understand and I could even see it, from the customer's perspective, as being "lazy". They're not looking at how many hours you guys spend, they're looking at the final product which they've bought to see if it meets the promised objectives. And from what a lot of people are standing, a decent UI is seen as a basic thing. Bioware said more or less the same thing with Dragon Age 2, which many people loathed. While I can see they gave themselves way to short of a development time, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how many extra hours they spent at the office. The bottom line is, a lot of people were pissed off with the product they bought. But at the end of day, I'm personally very pleased with what Bethesda has done. IMHO, Skyrim will easily be GOTY material. I understand what you are saying but our situation is a little different. The fact of the matter is that we put in a monumental extra effort not only to finish this game but to add many things that were not even slated and planned to be in. The result is a game packed with content and things that were only possible due to the commitment of the team. So while I agree with your point, in our case finishing the game on time is only part of the project. Believe me when I tell you that the greatest game are a success because of the additional love put in by the team behind it. Making games is unlike a lot of other fields Your metric does apply to the base expectations but ultimately thats not what we put in the extra effort for, but rather a bunch of additional things that would not be in otherwise. As far as doing it for charity, yes you are right but the game industry is far more demanding on personal and family lives than many other fields, so bear that in mind. Also, while the game is not perfect, just as there are people that dont like something, there are many that do. I definitely think the fans are entitled to like or dislike any aspect, but anyone who thinks a game is released by lazy devs with the thought that the mod community will "fix it" is very mistaken. The mod community reaches a fraction of the audience, so Im pretty sure there isnt any studio that relies on modders to fix anything. I think modders do a fantastic job of making the game more to there own liking which honestly is not going to be liked by everyone either.

No wonder Bethesda became lazy...after reading something like this, why would they even bother to make some ui and fix things..."look they are happy even with this!" This is not about being happy and all but about quality...the game is fun certainly but if im buying a PC game i expect to have it some pc game standards like the ui for example. You say people are whining about everything..surely some things are overreactions but this is also bethesdas fault for hyping the game to heavens, so im not surprised some people are pissed. They havent done any QA testing on this...and just becouse you are happy with it dossent mean we all have to be...if we dont point the flaws and lazyness of bethesda they wont bother to do anything properly...and if this means we are whining, then let it be so...but please realize you are whining about others whining...same deal. Your accusations of lazy are pretty poorly thought out. I would be lying if I didnt say it bothered me when individuals like you and others make these kinds of statements. Many at the studio have spent many nights, weekends and holidays working to try to bring you the best game we could within the time we had. All this we did of our own accord without any extra compensation and we did it with the fans in mind. Sure were not perfect, but being called lazy is just plain insulting. We take great pride in our work and we do listen to fans quite a bit. Dont be so quick to judge us so harshly, we do what we can for you guys, unfortunately you cant please everyone. Also, bear in mind this game is made for millions of people. What some of you may like others may not and vice versa. Take it easy my friends You guys have done a wonderful job with this game. I am astounded at it. I enjoy every single minute of firing up Skyrim and playing it for hours on end. One of the most well done games that I have ever played. And hands down the best open world RPG that I have ever played. Thank you for the hard work that has been put into it. Also, the complaints can't even scratch the surface, or hinder my experience at all. Thank you so much. Thank you guys for being fans and supporting us. Believe me when I say we really appreciate all the fans, even the more critical ones

Take it easy my friends Alright i see, i apologize for being harsh.. the ui let bittersweet taste in my mouth...though i never said the game is bad or something, no the game itself is wonderfull...but fighting the ui isnt very appealing to me...hell i wouldnt be even here if i wouldnt like the game you made...and i agree you cant please everyone...something i said myself...stil im kinda dissapointed with the work on the ui but since you took the time and told us the reason, im glad you proved me wrong...i guess i will have to wait for a mod...like always. Its all good :) Actually, I totally understand if people dont like certain aspects. The mod community is very strong and Im certain there will be mods to suit everyone's taste in every area. Thats what I love about modding, a lot of people can shape the game to what they specifically want.
