  1. I never had issues with settlers like this, simply because I have only 1 settlement that has a recruitment beacon(starlight drive in). All new settlers go there, and from that point on I manually decide where they all go and which clothes/weapons they get. And its probably also easier to catch synth spies this way, if you know what I mean. Another thing I do is always write down how many settlers each settlement has, just to keep track of things. And once I make a settler a provisioner I always open console and click on him to write down hes ID, this way if I ever want to give all my provisioners other clothes or weapons I just make them spawn in front of me with commands "prid ID" and "moveto player". Some folks spend days trying to find their provisioners because they roam the entire map...well not on my watch  Here is a snippet from my fallout 4 text file: And then there is also that mod that lets you rename your settlers to for example "Farmer", really handy! http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2017/? As you can see I like to micromanage everything, I guess this is the only way to really figure out whats actually going on with your settlements.
  2. I'm using 2 mods for them, one where you need to drop all those scanners in the workbenches of your settlement so you get that detection network, though I edited this mod and removed the glasses and some other stuff too, since that was kind of immersion breaking for me. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7342/? And the other mod I'm using to build those Synth Tesla traps to manually figure out which settlers are actual synths, and then I can drop that ring on them to make them hostile and blow them up. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8031/? I like it much more this way, the network only indicates which settlements have been infiltrated but offer no other options to magically see which settler is a synth(glasses), or other immersion breaking stuff like mentioning the attacks even before they happen. And then I have to manually build those tesla traps (which only work one time each) to find the actual synth spy. So overall this is the most immersive thing I could come up with without feeling like I'm actually cheating somehow. If you want my edited version of "Settlement Aid Program" that only shows you the 'SSD network' and the 'Synth Spy detection' then just send me a PM and I'll share it with you, though it is based on the Hard version where you need to have certain perks and also construct the scanners yourself and then drop them in each workbench of your settlements.
  3. Everyone is always pointing to DLCs to fix this game, lol.
  4. Yeah I'm not going to reply to this thread anymore, its just devolving into a Drama spectacle where people voicing their issues with the game are getting bashed by those that like to place it on a pedestal. If you like it, then great, so move along and stop going with all the personal attacks and whatnot. If you do feel like you want to personally attack people and call them whiners and stuff, then clearly that person must have said something that hits home for you, yet you deny hes opinion since your trying way too hard to like the game, hence you attack instead. Its a Bethesda game and the longer time goes on the less impressive and dulled down their games are, but I'm guessing you folks are going to deny that as well... My God, even if Bethesda would take a huge dump you would still call it glorious and 'DumpOfTheYear!'. I'm out, too many people have their blinders still in front of their eyes.
  5. Oh I'm sorry, that one "Boomer" raider that only appears 1 time with a Fatman must really be spectacular for you guys. I'm talking about literally 95% of all raiders in this game having pipe guns, or running at me with frigging cue sticks to poke me with... I'm level 68 and playing on survival with a mod that brings npcs dmg to 300%, done everything in the game in literally 3 weeks of playing, the game is boring and empty, no diversity, no challenge. And yes Gunners are nice, at least they get some better equipment and are the only npcs that offer any good combat, but I'm talking about raiders here, which seem to be nothing but filler fluff and sadly raiders are found everywhere in the game, unlike Gunners. Grow up. Thanks Arnaeus, I'll be giving that a try but first I need to google this command to figure out what "50" really means. EDIT: does this console command increase the chance of legendary enemies permanently or temporarily?
  6. Also what nobody else seems to talk about is the lack of enemies to fight. I think in the whole game there is like 16 different enemies, most of them scale with different textures on them but essentially you'll be fighting dumb raiders and bloatflies from start to finish, and you'll be looting pipe guns from start to finish as well. Why can't there be some raiders with a bazooka in my face, or a fully modded sniper rifle that is taking potshots at me from long distance, but nah, nothing but pipe guns from level 1 to infinity. As Hoamaii says, I'm trying really hard to like this game as much as I can, but I'm installing mods to fix blatant issues that keep popping up everywhere. Sure I had that with past Bethesda games as well to some degree, but usually mods were installed to make it only better, optional but not necessary (except for SkyUI of course). With FA4 its the other way around. What do they call an open world RPG that has lost its soul and failing at almost every aspect? an open world shooter. Joke of the year right there.
  7. Wauw, a level 20 that hasn't even finished anything, how can you even have a full opinion of the game then? Like I said, for me personally it was fun up until level 40, after that it got bored real quick and the pleasure I got from the game dropped like a brick. Main quest is too short, side quests are are lacking and not enough of them, misc quests repeat themselves way too often, and everything is just shoot shoot shoot! But we are all entitled to our own opinion, I made up mine and in the future I have to be more careful not to give in to nonsense hyped up things. (ps: explaining LOL to people really makes me take you serious  )
  8. Its a wonky system for sure, I'm 100% certain that my brahmin at sanctuary does not count as a settler because I just moved everyone out of Sanctuary and then moved them back one by one in order to make sure all settlers have good equipment on them. But during this testing I also found out that dogmeat doesn't count as a settler either, and neither does Codsworth UNLESS I dismiss Codsworth and specifically tell him to move to Sanctuary, at that point he does count as a settler. So I believe that if you manually assign or buy a brahmin(or a follower, aside from Dogmeat) it might count as a settler, but that brahmin on my game in Sanctuary came there on hes own and I never assigned or bought it, and it does not count as a settler.
  9. MacReady's perk is actually bugged as it gives 2000% increase to headshots, and not 20%, to fix that use this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1282/? And I just made my own little mod that makes ballistic weave only 1/3rd as strong as the original, I also found it way too overpowered and it honestly made armor useless, or if you have clothing with Mk5 weave AND armor you were practically invulnerable. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8140/?
  10. You and me both. Bethesda for me was like a "God" company, one where I could get hooked on their game for months at a time and then install mods or even create some and those months would get stretched out to years. It was like...a way of life to spend every single minute of my free time. But now its gotten to the point where they lost me and I'm actually looking at other games for things that Bethesda did so well in the past. Shooter games...come on, those are around everywhere already and I dislike having to shoot stuff 24/7, from now on I'm calling FA4 a shooter as well since it does make the most sense for what it truly is. Not that a shooter is a bad thing, but I'm simply not a Call of Duty fanboy, if I want to play a shooter I'll just go back to playing Planetside 2 where I get to fight real people.
  11. Fonger, you cannot put that weave on the vault suit, unless you install a mod like this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2286/? But for me personally even that is not enough, I like to give all my settlers that weave as well, but since the game doesn't allow me to do this on certain clothes I decided to edit that mod to my own personal taste.
  12. Going through large settlements like Sanctuary after a raid just to figure out which structures need to be repaired is such a time-consuming chore. What if we had a 'repair all' button show up in the workshop menu that would repair everything without any hassle or fuss. Now that would be lovely!
  13. If I were to play Fallout 3 right now of course it would feel empty because its old and not on modern gaming standards, same can be said about Morrowind, but back in the old days those games were top of the line and they were groundbreaking. My very simple point is this: Bethesda needs to innovate and evolve, its 2016 now and they should have learned way more about all those mods that were created over the years. FA4 is not innovative, nor groundbreaking, at least not from where I'm sitting after playing it for a few weeks and I feel it went back so much on the RPG its not even worthy of a 'Bethesda' game. And honestly, I never have gotten bored of any Bethesda game in that amount of time which is why I'm kind of butt-hurt and venting my frustration here on the forum  After all the hype and a few months waiting, I was ready to rock and roll in my new wasteland, but its simply not what I expected at all because it is devoid of anything that made the older games such huge successes. I said my peace and I'll try to enjoy the game for what its worth, but once I burn out of it I'll just move on to something else. EDIT: I just found this video that sums up exactly how I feel about the game, all points he makes are spot on:
  14. Its about the roleplaying aspect Boombro, personally I feel pretty detached from my character because nothing I do is really my choice(except for picking one of the 4 main factions that is, and even then I absolutely hated the fact that 2 get destroyed) It feels like playing world of warcraft where I get a quest and I need to go from point A to point B and kill X amount of mobs, then return for XP reward that will bring me to level 66, which would make me even more overpowered compared to the cap of level 35 that most enemies have, which would make me install even more mods that make enemy damage even higher. It was fun up until level 40 for me, after that I felt really powerful and I just walked over every single enemy, even deathclaws. Now its a bit better again since instead of 200% enemy damage on survival I'm using a mod that brings it to 300%, but leveling up, collecting bobbleheads and magazines pretty much lost its meaning for me, not to mention most quests are also done and all I'm getting are these repeatable quests. I'm trying to fix up some settlements but again...what is the point of it all, the settlers are behaving really dumb and its just fluff without any goal in mind and the enemy attacks on your town are bugged and simply boring. Whats the point of defenses if stuff needs to be repaired constantly and settlers get kidnapped every 5 seconds, I really wish there was a 'repair all' button so I wouldn't have to search every single turret/generator/wall/shop in my entire town just for 1 repair. At least roleplaying aspects and making choices in quests would have given me the illusion that I actually impacted 'something' in the game, even the guy speaking on the Diamond City Radio is boring to listen to now, while I can distinctly remember Three Dogs from FO3 and I always loved to listen to that guy telling my adventures.
  15. Are we spoiled? Perhaps... But to me its clear that Bethesda doesn't care much about trying to improve their games, sure we got mods for weapons, a buggy settlement system with AI and navmesh issues, and some vertibirds flying over my head that drop dead like flies all over the Commonwealth. Mods can fix 'some' things for sure, but why do we always have to rely on mods to fix stuff that is basically broken in the vanilla game??? A mod should be a modification, not a frigging patch to fix errors that have been blatantly ignored and repeated for over 10 years now! Seriously, Bethesda is just lazy, its almost like they quickly create something without even testing it properly and then ship it off for sale in the stores asap while hyping things up way out of proportion. But to me the real issue is the lack of DIVERSITY and CONTENT. I'm not going to argue with you, if you prefer to keep Bethesda on a pedestal for making a boring game that runs 'Okay' even though I can easily argue that there are tons of bugs all over the place, well then that is your prerogative. And yes you are right that its still early to tell how the DLCs will turn out and I will most certainly play those as well, but the fact that I am already getting bored after only playing a few weeks is not a good sign for me personally. My rose-tinted glasses are dropping and I will no longer put Bethesda on a pedestal for releasing games in such dire condition, it is NOT the modder's job to fix things, that responsibility lies with Bethesda first and foremost. Back in the day Morrowind was a truly innovative masterpiece, overstepping all bounds, and the same could be said about Fallout 3 and in some regards Oblivion as well.(I never played the other Fallout games btw) Then Skyrim took a big dip downwards, but luckily over time mods saved that. And now I honestly feel that Fallout 4 is even less innovative, for an end 2015 game it should have way more then just this... A company needs to create innovative and good quality products, that's all I have to say about it. (but sadly, most of the gaming industry seems to cater to the young and dumb, watering down all products to appease the masses, until its just mediocre enough to sell for a profit.)
  16. Ive been playing Fallout 4 for a few weeks now and I can already tell I'm not going to pour my love and time into making mods for it, the whole game just feels too bland, too empty, too buggy. Bethesda, in my honest opinion, created this game way too quickly and they cut corners wherever they could, and its really showing in-game. Especially after I discovered that only 3 small towns were all we got and the npcs there don't even offer that many quests. Granted, I REALLY enjoyed some of the followers and how they have an actual story to tell you, but everything else in the game feels like a complete rip-off from Fallout 3 except with some better, yet still lacking graphics for 2015, slapped on its face. I mean come on, after you play the game for a while and you slowly take off those rose-tinted glasses you simply cannot deny the scarcity of diversity in this game. Sure some buildings are unique, but the vast majority is just copy paste, like Chinese bulk created for quantity ready to be dumped on the market, not to mention that 90% of those buildings are closed off. And while most of you seem to say that Skyrim had mountains and Fallout does not, which is why the map is about the same size, is actually completely wrong because Fallout has tons of empty filler buildings, so I'd say the actual map size compared to Skyrim is way smaller in that regard. But lets take The Combat Zone for example, a very unique interior and when I first entered it I was like "wow we can so some awesome interaction with enemy factions here and fight in the arena", but nop, just another wasted potential where Bethesda slapped some regular raiders into it that has little to no importance to the game. And Fallout 4 is littered with things like this that have great potential, but it was either never implemented or Bethesda just ripped it out of the game. Yes, Combat zone was supposed to be an arena where you could fight, there even left-overs of voice files exactly for that purpose that are not used in-game, basically they just cancelled the whole thing and slapped raiders in it instead. Also, map feels TINY and I miss the underground metro system where ghouls would swarm me, actually I miss tons of things in this game compared to older Bethesda games. So to me it painfully obvious that this game is rushed, but I'm going to stop my ramble right here before I even speak about its optimization.
  17. I've just installed this mod, hopefully it will work: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5718/? But I'd still like to know if anyone ever saw ash/goo piles not despawning outside of the town construction boundaries.
  18. Okay guys, but what about ash/goo piles OUTSIDE of your own towns, did anyone ever notice those not despawning? So far I'm getting the impression that the piles only stay when they are created inside the town construction boundaries, because honestly I have not really noticed any other ash/goo piles from the past anywhere else.
  19. Like in Skyrim, in the beginning there was a major issue where Ash and Ectoplasm piles would never despawn and stay there forever, slowly bloating the save game until it was so large that it became instable or simply CTD'ed all the time. Now we got Fallout 4 and I'm noticing something disturbing, some raiders were turned into ash piles by my laser turrets within the Sanctuary construction boundary when I was level 30, I'm now level 65 and those piles are still there! On the other hand, all the actual raider corpses(bodies) went away just fine. Same thing on the Castle, all corpses from past battles are gone, except for the ash piles created by Danse and hes laser weapon. Also I can't even activate the ash piles to open them, its like the container they are connected to is gone. I have not paid attention to any other ash/goo piles in other locations around the game, but can someone please be so kind to give some proper information about this. -Do those piles actually despawn? -Do they only despawn outside of town boundaries? (towns don't respawn, maybe thats why the ash piles don't despawn inside the town either?) -Corpses despawn inside the town boundaries, so why arn't ash/goo piles doing the same? (Bethesda 10 year old bug still there?) I'm really confused about it and would love to hear how it really works, so far I have gone through the trouble to install a mod that prevents these ash/goo piles in the first place, and I'm also using the console command 'disable' to get rid of any old piles in the settlements that were there from the past. But is this actually necessary or am I just imagining things?
  20. Being an author can sometimes be stressful enough just because of the amount of users who are completely clueless, don't read descriptions and ask repetitive questions over and over again. And you want to add on top of that with a permanent "Dont ever endorse this" button. omg... edit: don't get me wrong, lots of users are really nice and helpful, but some of the others...
  21. Placing objects is just impossible, unless you place static version of them so this issue you describe nor npcs will move them ever again: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4270/?
  22. My mod Tel Nalta II has a teleport spell as well, so you can dig in there and try to reverse-engineer it if you like, but my spell only teleports the player to 1 specific spot and it also checks the players mana, costs 100 mana to cast and has a 2 hour delay on it. Also I did not create any of these scripts myself, so don't ask me for any assistance regarding actual scripting. The mod is pretty big (250MB 7zip which is 800MB unpacked) but if you do decide to dig in there then I highly recommend you do not unpack the .bsa file but rather edit your SkyrimEditor.ini so the CK automatically looks inside .bsa without the need to unpack it. (on the bottom of my description I explain how you can do this) However for scripts you still need to unpack them out of the .bsa or otherwise you cannot look at their source code inside the CK, so if you are interested into looking at my teleport script (Tel_Nalta_Script_Recall_To_Tel_Nalta.psc) then you might have to unpack that one. All my own script .psc files are included in the .bsa. If you don't feel like downloading the entire mod just to look at one script, then send me a PM and I'll copy it in there.
  23. It says on the website itself "NifTools is an open source project" so I honestly doubt they care whether we share one of their older versions between ourselves or not. I did this a few times in the past on these forums to help out people back when there were issues with the Nifskope website, and nobody ever gave me any taps on my wrist for it. If your really that afraid of it, then just give each other your emails through a PM and send it privately.
  24. Its not like all that stuff is shown in one video, your already talking about many different things right now. The CK and all other kind of programs you can use to mod stuff into the game is very large and just asking for a video is not going to cover anything, you need to search into google/forums/youtube yourself and then learn stuff one step at a time, only in the course of several months/years can one get enough experience to be a decent modder. "I would actually mod if I personally search through hundreds of posts, countless of forum/video tutorials, and spend many days just testing stuff out myself and talking to other people to get/share info with them." And on a last note, if you ever expect help on the forums here you need to talk about 1 VERY SPECIFIC thing and give decent information/screenshots along with that, or otherwise people simply cannot help you. Modding is a big hay stack, we cannot help you with all the hay, but if you pinpoint that one needle some of us might just have the info that you need.
  25. No, I wouldn't recommend SMIM if hes got low-grade hardware like that. Even I got a decent PC and running SMIM made my game lag too much to my taste, its got quite a few new textures in that mod as well, not to mention the more complex meshes are the more taxing it is on your system too.
