  1. Funny I tried the same thing after seeing the dzip in the header. I even tried changing the .sav extension to dzip, but no luck. I'm guessing it's encrypted differently. I even tried swapping the header from a dzip file that Red Tool CAN unpack, with the save file but then got an error. Maybe if the creator of Red Tool applied their talents to the save files we'd be set. I painfully went through a save file and could make out many sections of complete words. If you "search" or "find" (depending on the Hex program you're using) "talen" I'm about 99% sure it is Talents. But the end string is encrypted, so it be hard to tell where to alter the value. Also, the save files shift the information around rather drastically. Even making back to back saves will move info. Guess saving every NPC's location, dialogue with NPC's, etc is the main reason.
  2. I managed to find a way to remove the exp cap for what it's worth. In the geralt_leveups.xml, I copied the 35 levels, then pasted them at the end of the 35th level. Went back and renumbered everything in order. So instead of ending at 35, it continues to numerically until "level" 70. I copied and pasted twice and actually took my levels to 105. Doing this allows Geralt's experience to continue counting and accumulating. In my case I also altered the geralt_basic.xml where the "experience_mult" is under the "Various" header. My Geralt has over a million experience and his "Experience Bar" above his health is full, but the little "+" that normally displays when he's ready to level up isn't there. I've tried adding various lines to the geralt_basic like max_level mult, level mult, etc. but no luck so far. If someone knows where the level cap is stored, I think we can get higher levels beyond the 35 cap. Please keep the preaching about unfair leveling or too easy to yourselves. Not everyone wants to play like you do.
  3. I always force the fans to as high as they'll go when playing games like this as it keeps the card cooler and more consistent, plus it adds to the lifespan. The fan noise doesn't bother me. Set it to manual and as high as it'll go and you'll get more life from the card. Fans are cheaper to replace than the video card. Look on the manufacters website for the high limit on what heat they can/should take.
  4. All I remember was using the knife (can't remember it's name at the moment) to cut away roots until I reached the base of the tree. Then there was a prompt to get the sap if I'm remembering it correctly. If you killed everything and it's not letting you get the sap, try leaving and returning to the area. Also, it there should be a marker update to show you where the tree is.
  5. I was just wondering if anyone has changed their wife's outfit yet? I have Ysloda from Whiterun. I can't stand that bluejean dress from 1986 that she's wearing. I'd like to change it to say the tavern dress. What's the easiest way to change? Her outfit just says "Clothes" Would it be easiest to extract the Tavern outfit, make a copy, then rename to the female "Clothes" file and be done with it? I tried console commands, I tried pickpocket and giving her the tavern outfit, etc. I don't have the pickpocket equipped items perk yet, would that help?
  6. Once the kit is out, you should be able to alter values of existing weapons to mimic what you had in Oblivion. Textures should be able to be altered as well to mimic what you had before depending on how good you are with an editor like Gimp. As far as legality goes, do whatever you want on your own system and no one would ever know. It costs a TON of money to get Lawyers involved. Even if something was posted in mod section, assuming it violated some rules, you'd get a warning or the hosting site would be warned to remove it. People trying to scare you with the law don't realize that Bethesda would bankrupt itself if it went after every single snafu. Obviously trying to make a profit would be an exception to the rule as that would probably get quick attention. But after all, they release a kit to mod with, so I wouldn't worry too much about it if you are creative. EXAMPLE: Say there was a dagger you liked in Oblivion. I'd open it's image in Gimp. Then I'd find a dagger from Skyrim that was similar (or even a basic steel dagger) then copy sections from your favorite OVER the steel dagger, blending it to appear natural. This is just a cheap example (gets you by).
  7. I actually like the the invisible look LOL. I'd suggest finding another image that covers the face that you'd be content with, then just alter the colors to match until the construction set comes out. EDIT: If you are good with Gimp, you *could* cut and past the texture you like. EX: Cut the mask/face section of the Nightingale Hood to cover the "open face" section of the Dark Brotherhood hood. Play with the colors, give yourself red eye, whatever you want.
  8. I really wish they'd included a Health and Stamina gauge for horses. Would be extremely helpful, especially being able to view when you can start galloping again. Also, it'd be neat if you could call an owned horse like in Red Dead with a whistle. Maybe some scripting to give the horse perks and being able to cause more damage to enemies. I love the fact that a horse will chase and attack the enemy, but HATE the fact that the stupid bandits will target it 1st over me, even if I'm not on it. I saw a horse climb stairs to attack someone once LOL.
  9. If you could "up" the sneak attack with arrows perk from X3 to x15, then add it to your normal attack, you'd be set. OR Once the Creation Set comes out, find a particular arrow you like to use, then just increase it's damage and you'd have what you're looking for.
  10. I'm glad you posted the rock climbing. At the very least you should be able to climb a 15 degree slope rock. But for some reason, they got lazy with the terrain and included a bunch of slopes that once you land on it, your character will slowly "slide" down until a flat surface stops you- which in turn stops climbing/jumping. Basically, a mod that lets you jump while slowly sliding on irregular surfaces would be nice.

  12. The ID for people or items can be found by selecting it with your arrow cursor if it's in front of you, right?
  13. Also, If you guys can ante up the image files, I can fine tune them possibly to get the appearance more consistent by blending in layers. Or adding slightly more details to the bodies. Not interested in armor or weapons. Thanks again~ Edit: After looking in other threads, it seems people were already using Gimp to alter LOL. I've used Gimp for years but hadn't realized you guys were actually using it already for modding images :ohdear: so, I'm guessing one of you can explain how to to save the updated images?
  14. Hello. I'm fairly adept at altering images and what not. I found a fully nude mod for the females, and while it looks decent, I'd like to alter the stomach area as it's way off in color and saturation. I have the .dds plug-in for Gimp, and WAS able to blend the stomach area as to reduce the obvious color shifts, making it look more natural, but Gimp won't let me save the file? Keep getting an error about the layers. Any advice to getting Gimp to allow me to save the corrected image would be nice as I'd like to contribute to the cause and add better Nudes to the game. If I can get the images to save, I could probably alter the male images as well, or at least make the colors more fluid in the skin. Thanks~
  15. After finishing the Thieve's Guild in Oblivion, you're granted with an awesome item that makes people forget who you are after removing the hood. Anyway to recreate it here? Or are there any enchantments that replicate some/all of the effects of the Gray Fox Hood?
