tesv.exe application error 0xc000001d
GrumpyOldNord replied to airgear92's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Did you double check to make sure that ALL programs/executables related to Skyrim aren't running in compatibility mode? The Creator's Update for Windows 10 seems to have completely borked it. -

IMAetAR, I have been bashing my head into my desk for the past three days trying to figure out why I couldn't run ENB after getting the Creator's Update for Windows 10. Your suggestion worked perfectly. Thank you, and have a kudos. -
SSE Bethesda.net Launcher Black Screen
GrumpyOldNord replied to GrumpyOldNord's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Woot! I finally got it to work! I decided to try something silly and set both the launcher and the updater to run in compatibility mode for Windows 7 (the OS I'm using) and then run the updater and *boom* suddenly works fine. -
SSE Bethesda.net Launcher Black Screen
GrumpyOldNord replied to GrumpyOldNord's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I've read a number of recommended fixes - from using compatibility mode to updating drivers and .NET Framework. I've done all of these things, and yet my Beth launcher refuses to show me anything other than a black screen. Makes getting to the CK for Skyrim SE a bit difficult. -
SSE Bethesda.net Launcher Black Screen
GrumpyOldNord posted a topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
So earlier yesterday, after converting one of my mods to Special Edition, there was an update to the Bethesda Launcher. After installing the update, the above is all I see now. Black screen. I've tried everything I've found and can think of, and nothing is fixing it. Has anyone else had this issue, and has anyone found a fix for it yet? -
Thank you! Turns out I had selected load MIP maps. Oops. Problem solved. Thank you very much, Contrathetix.

Could simply be a corrupted file. Or you have something in your data folder that shouldn't be there. Are you using MO/NMM, or installing directly to your game directory?

Hey all, hopefully someone will be able to help me out here. I've been using Photoshop CS6 + the official Nvidia DDS plugin to edit Skyrim textures for a few years now, and recently I set up a new rig and had to reinstall everything. Since I reinstalled Photoshop and the DDS plugin I've been having an issue of sorts that never happened before on my old rig - whenever I load up a DDS file, instead of just showing the image, it displays the image along with several smaller copies right next to it. Not sure what's causing it, but I figure I probably have some weird option ticked somewhere that I can't figure out. Anyone know what I'm talking about and how I can fix it? It's only a mild annoyance as it doesn't seem to actually affect how the texture is displayed in game, but it does add an extra unnecessary step to any texture manipulations I want to do. The way it's supposed to look The way it looks now

As soon as I read this, I decided to disable Adblock on Nexus. And almost immediately (perhaps three pages into my current session) I got hit by a very loud auto-play video ad. So I did the appropriate thing and hit the "report this ad" link just under the offending ad. I'm now curious how this new system works as I was never asked what was wrong with the ad, simply thanked for reporting it. Ha, and just as I was about to hit send on this comment, the ads refreshed and another auto-play video ad started. I don't envy you guys your task, but I'll keep Adblock disabled to help out as much as I can.

Help with making conditions for modded follower
GrumpyOldNord replied to GrumpyOldNord's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thank you very much! -
I'm absolutely a noob when it comes to creating mods, but I am dead-set on finishing the mod I'm currently working on. It adds a new follower to the game based off my character, who is a very staunch Stormcloak. I've followed all the tutorials I've found on how to make him a follower, but what I can't figure out is how to make him only follow if the player is a Stormcloak (not just wearing the armor, but actually in the faction). I also want to make him hostile to any Imperial or (gods forbid) Thalmor players and npcs. Could someone please point me in the right direction for how to do that? I'd be very grateful.

I know that there is a bug with the Stormcloak Officer boots not registering properly as light armor, and I also know there are many mods that address the issue, but I'm currently working on my own mod and decided to include a fix for the issue in it. Well, when I went to the form for the item, I can't see anywhere there what's causing the bug. I remember doing this before and that they were improperly tagged with the heavy armor keyword, but now they're labeled light armor, and I'm wondering if it was fixed in the latest update. But then in my game, I still have the bug and I'm wondering if another mod I have is reverting it back to the wrong keyword. This is what I see in the Creation Kit

In response to post #10778400. #10791057 is also a reply to the same post. I screwed up somewhere... :/

Novice hood is invisible and makes me bald
GrumpyOldNord replied to UrgeNexus's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I hate to bump this, but I am now having the exact same issue - orc unable to properly equip the novice hood. Which is odd, because when I played an orc when the game first came out, I wore that hood for weeks. Is it an update issue, or a mod? I'm wondering if it's a mod as my load order is a bit similar to UrgeNexus'. -
Mod Suggestions for Archer playthrough
GrumpyOldNord replied to GrumpyOldNord's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thank you all for your suggestions. Many of them are definitely going into my game right now. Two questions, though. First: one of the biggest things that has really turned me off to a stealth-archer playthrough is that annoying-as-hell Matrix dodge that NPCs will do when you try to sneak-shot them. You know what I mean - you've been sneaking slowly for quite a while and see bandit up ahead. You take your time, aim the shot perfectly, release the string, only to have said bandit suddenly slide out of the way as if he saw it coming a mile away. I know there used to be a mod to fix that, but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Second: as I said, I really want to make an extremely sexy little Wood Elf girl. I prefer the UNP body, and may even switch to the Slim version for this character, but I'm looking for some good archer/ranger-type armor mods that come close to what's in the pic above. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've already seen a few, but none of them really strike that right tone with me. -
Mod Suggestions for Archer playthrough
GrumpyOldNord replied to GrumpyOldNord's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
And this is a pretty good idea of what I'm using for inspiration as far as the feel of the character I want to play. http://i17.servimg.com/u/f17/16/93/29/59/640x4210.jpg -
I want to do a playthrough as a sexy archer girl, and I'm wondering what mods are available that would really enhance that experience. I'm looking for weapons, armor, animations, anything like that. I've seen A LOT of mods that I like, but I'm curious what everyone's favorites are for this style.

Considering everything that's happened in my life this past year, I can honestly say that the only thing that's kept me going is playing and modding Skyrim, and this is the site I use. I think the Nexus staff have mostly done a phenomenal job at true professionalism considering the massive influx the site has received (myself included), and I am very thankful for that. Keep up the incredible work, because it really means a lot to me. And for all the modders, all I can say is thank you. Thank you so much for your countless hours of work, frustration, and obsession. Without you guys, my game would not be nearly as awesome as it is. So thank you, all of you.

Yes. UNP Female Armors by Exeter would be what you are looking for. That mod is great, and is constantly being updated to fix small clipping issues. It also addresses basic clothing, I believe.

I remember seeing some time ago a mod on the Nexus that stopped NPCs from doing the whole "Matrix dodge" when you tried to snipe at them with a bow while sneaking. I didn't pay it much mind at the time because I'd never done an archer play-through. But my latest game is a pure stealth archer, and I've come to find that aspect not only incredibly annoying, but down-right unrealistic and extremely immersion-breaking. However, after spending hours on the Nexus, Workshop, and Google, I simply cannot find the mod that fixed this. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

I want to make a few ultra-gory screenshots for a Facebook page about Skyrim that I admin, and so I'm looking at all the blood mods on the Nexus, and I can't quite make up my mind. Specifically, I'm looking at Enhanced Blood Textures by dDefinder and Crimson Tide - Blood by Magus. I'm curious which mod would create a much bloodier and violent-looking atmosphere for screenshots.
-
Oh, you mean the TARDIS? :P What you're looking for is called FC Kagrenacs Instant Fortress by Flatline42, and is found here
-
And if sucsm 1 is still too fast (as it can be for really good up-close shots of characters), it will also recognize decimals, such as 0.25, which is what I usually use for in-tight screenshots.

I was wondering if there is a mod out there that makes the Stormcloak Soldier you can rescue from an Imperial squad you meet on the road available as a follower? I've tried with console commands, but he's scripted to disappear once you hit a loading screen. If there's no mod already that does this, would anyone be willing to make one, or show me a tutorial on how to change the scripting so I can do it? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zWluqcq4jlw/UK4a-AMY0bI/AAAAAAAACac/_iC7z51ZvOM/s1600/Whiterun+stormcloak+prisoner.jpg
