  1. Okay, so everything was working-ish yesterday (meaning that after realizing how much has been updated, including SKSE and a shitton of mods). Today however I can't even run MO2, not the last nor the current updated one. Funny thing is the error msg language hints its a policy change - but this is my home PC, custom built by myself, never ever any outside work related activity... and I've not made ANY changes as of late (nor applied any Win10 updates in last month or more. Ideas, Clues, Hints???
  2. Yep - SOLVED - it was indeed the Ambient Occlusion (SAO). When disabled the dots disappeared, and remained gone regardless of nVidia driver or ENB settings. Only I though this is odd, because I had been using it before. I did find that, after some further research & testing, I can use it but only if I also use NVHBAO - that seems to help smooth the rendering significantly. Sources: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41623/ https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Fallout4Prefs_INI/NVHBAO Used FO4 Configuration tool by Bilago parameter search terms SAO & NVHBAO Big thank you for the help!!
  3. robotized - it still might be, if only because its in the shadowed areas I notice it most. Gonna keep playing with it and see if maybe I missed a setting somewhere. Really appreciate it though!
  4. robotized - nope, no change. Disabled all AA & AIO in the driver & ini files - was still there... I even looked at some old screenshots from old play through and its not there, so its really got me scratching my head.
  5. @robotized - Thanks for the suggestion! I will disable all AO in game & GPU drivers and do a test/compare later tonight or tomorrow morning.
  6. Exactly. Its like a screen or lens filter effect - scenery moves behind the layer of dots. But its not the physical screen, nor any mod or ENB... I've also tested: Monitor - check its not dust & cleaned monitor = yes, clean - check for presence on hi-res photograph (8k x 10k) = not present - check for presence on blank white screen = not present Game- start new game, no mods = no change - start new game, no mods, no ENB = no change - check for presence along whole screen = no change I'm starting to think its just a limitation of game engine???
  7. NO change regardless of resolution. I also removed ENB entirely, tested, then put back the default ENB, tested with effects active and inactive. Same result - dots still there. The ONE thing I did notice however, is that these dots are in fixed position. I notice them on loading screens as if trying to simulate an old CRT, but remain present while in game. FYI: GPU = MSI RTX 2070 Super, Display = BenQ 2711U
  8. I did a search on this, found nothing except two old posts from 2016 without replies or solutions mentioned. I'm running this at max settings, 2560x1440, with minimal ENB (speed without effects), and only a few mods that change lighting or environment. Thing is, this dotting pattern appears everywhere, almost like its a Lens texture (but I have none, and its there even with ENB off completely). very noticable on light colored surfaces like fridge, skin, sidewalk, etc. Screenshot attached - but it won't be visible on the thumbnail. Please help, this is really buggin me... (oh hey, and if the answer is out there and I missed it, please don't be a troll about it - we're all human okay?) Thanks!
  9. Long time lurker/reader, probably only my 2nd time posting, so forgive any errors in formalities or protocol please. I'm experiencing two problems which for the life of me I cannot solve. One is a crash to desktop (CTD) error and the other is a missing mesh/object. Problem 1: CTD whenever an action requires a crafting, bobble head, or skills magazine GUI. As soon as I try to craft, or even pick up the bobble or magazine, it instantly crashes. *Addendum: also includes rare/legendary items Problem 2: unidentifiable object or workbench placed in game no longer renders (see screenshot at bottom). Things have been running smoothly for a while until Steam upgraded FO4 to v1.10.26. Unfortunately I don't have a backup and cannot revert to a prior version through steam or the Win10 "previous version" feature. Here's what I've tried thus far: clean save game filego back to older same game fileverify old save file is clean (Fallrim tools ReSave)verify local install filesreinstall game and DLCsreview mod load orders, using manual and LOOTremoving mods & reinstall (with NMM)selectively removing & deleting mods (with backup in place)As I was traveling for a week before this fiasco, and the save is older and when I knew everything had worked, I don't recall what object was placed or what I may have done differently. Thing is it really shouldn't matter at that point if the save was good and clean (ReSave detects no errors). See spoiler 1 below for Mods list & order. See spoiler 2 below for PC config
