Soooo, I'm not entirely sure how to ask this, but here goes: I've been trying feverishly to get Dual Sheath Redux to work, given that I'm working with a clean install of Skyrim because I got that itch again, and I just... I can't open the patcher. It's a .jar file, and I'm not sure if I'm just being stupid in opening it, but it won't open. I've double clicked it and essentially gotten a black cmdprompt window that pops up REALLY quickly, says error, and goes away. So I feel like I must be opening it with the wrong sort of java somehow, and I probably look incredibly foolish for doing so (feel free to laugh) Currently, I've tried opening it too ways. I either open with C:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jre1.8.0_111/bin/java.exe which gives me the cmdprompt window that goes away near instantly, or C:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jre1.8.0_111/bin/javaw.exe which does nothing at all. Is there a better way to do this? I feel like I'm missing a big point...

Alright! So, before I buy stuff besides the RAM and the new OS, is there anything else I need? With the processor and the graphics card? Anything I need to check for or can I just buy them and put them in? EDIT: Also, is there a way to find the type of case I have? And does it matter all that much beyond optimization? If I can I'd really like to keep the motherboard, hard drive, and case I have now.

Okay, I know there's a pretty established bug with the First Lessons quest where Tolfdir won't cast the fireball at your ward, but I'm running into a different problem. He casts the fireball, but the next stage won't trigger, so he'll just say "Keep your ward up" or whatever, and then fire again. Basically, no matter if I keep my ward up or not, I just get completely stuck here because it won't advance. Is this a commonly known bug? Is there any fix besides just skipping to the next quest with console commands?

LE Deadlier Wildlife: Cats and Bears

True enough, but Saber Cats are also not really built like any cats. They are not just stocky, they are cat-tanks. I'm not talking about increasing the aggressiveness of either, so in the case of bears, I still think it'd be a great idea to double their damage and health. Saber cats, maybe increase the health by half or so, and double the damage (because let's face it, a saber cat is going to basically ruin your day if you get swiped.) -
Hey! I'm always disappointed when I get higher level and able to basically just one shot bears and sabre cats like it's nothing. Giants and Mammoths are still deadly, so why not bears and Sabers? I'm pretty sure this'd be easy to do, just increase the HP and Damage. Somewhere between where it is now, and giants/mammoths. Don't want them to be too powerful, but it'd be nice if a pair or trio of Cats could take down one lone mammoth.

Okay. For backing up files (because I'm starting that right now.) I have steam for all my games, so, for my modded games like Skyrim, will it work if I save the folders to another computer/hard drive and then reinstall the game using steam, and then replace the installed folders with the ones I saved? Will that save my mods and such?

True enough, I suppose. Might be doable, I do plan to get a part-time job soon. Let's say I wanted to do this over a period of time. These games don't even come out for awhile. What would be the most important to least important? Meaning, what should I get first, to what should I get last? I also have some questions with the upgrading in general, specifically the 64-bit upgrade. First off, I'm wondering if Microsoft does a thing where you can get the 64 bit OS for cheaper if you're using 32 bit of the same OS (so, in my case, Win7) and if so, where I can find out about that. Because I've seen it mentioned a few times, but I haven't been able to find too much about it. Secondly, while I'm going to have to backup and restore everything, what happens to my drivers? I'll need to get 64-bit drivers, obviously. How do I do this? I have a program right now that searches for drivers and lets me install them off of it, but if my drivers aren't working with my OS in the first place, will I even be able to do anything? So my question I guess is how to upgrade my drivers while installing 64 bit. And also, are there other steps for installing a new graphics card and processor? I have watched some videos and it looks extremely easy (legos for adults, as people say) but are there other steps besides just snapping it in place? Again, drivers is mostly what I'm asking about here. I'm sorry, I know that most of my questions must sound idiotic, but this is my first time doing any of this.

That's... a little disheartening, personally. I was hoping for something in the range of a $300-400 deal... How would I find out what kind of case I have? Where would that info be? Assuming that it would be cheaper to just modify my current computer rather than buy a new one, what would you recommend for a $400 price point? Here are the specs I have currently: OS: 32 bit Windows 7 CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 @3.10GHz RAM: 4.00 GB Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8H61-M LE/CSM (I have no idea what ANY of that means.) Grpahics: AMD Radeon HD 6770 Tell me if you need to know anything else. Right now, school is most of my time, so if anyone can recommend parts and prices and such for an upgrade, that'd be really really helpful. Also, is there anything I should know about upgrading a PC vs Building one from scratch? EDIT: Also, is there anyone who'd be willing to talk about this PM or over some IM service? I have a bunch of questions and I don't just want to flood this post with them.

Okay, a bigger problem is, A: can I take the case I have now and use that. B: Can I sell my current graphics card. C. Can Oblivion, Morrowind, and Skyrim run on 64 bit? And is there a way to transfer to current setups (mods and saves, so I don't have to find and reinstall everything) Looking at the specs for Shadow of Mordor, which I hear are still pretty high as far as games go, here's what I'd need to do to my computer: Get a new CPU: I think I currently have an i3, so they recommend upgrading that to an i7. Change my graphics card: I'm running a Radeon HD 6770 (I think it's Crossfire, but I'm not completely sure.) They recommend a 7970, so I'd probably just want to go with an 8000 model. I know there's some big debate between Nvidia and AMD, but I've been using my Radeon 6770 and I've had absolutely zero problems with it, so I'd feel better just upgrading instead of switching unless there was some big reason not to. Change the OS: This is the thing that's mainly keeping me from playing games. Even if I could somehow crank through SoM, Everquest Next, or DA:I, the fact remains that all these games are locked to only 64 bit gamers. This is also probably the step I'm most worried about. I don't know what this might do to my existing programs (I've heard it means I won't be able to run Antivirus programs? I'd hate to buy one. I'm currently running Security Essentials and Malwarebytes or whatever it's called.) And like I said before, I hate to think what impact this might have on the games I already do run, especially the heavily modded ones, Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind. Get more RAM (?): I've heard people say that 4 gb is pretty much all you need. But I'm seeing 6-8 recommended. Get more disk space: Or delete some programs, I suppose. Anyone have any tips on how to even get started? It sounds like, if I wanted to do this, I'd essentially have to guy my PC. Is there anything I could get away with keeping? How much would this cost, even?

So, I have a decent-ish pc right now, and it's lasted awhile, but unfortunately, it looks like it's just not going to be up to tackle the new games. A bit part of this is because of the OS. I'm running 32 bit Windows 7, and I've seen a lot of games that I'm probably going to want to play (Everquest Next, Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Witcher 3, possibly Evolve, I couldn't find much info on that one.) are completely ditching 32 bit. Essentially, it looks like, if I want to enjoy any of the awesome games I've been waiting for, I'm going to have to buy a new PC, or upgrade my current one. I'm pretty technically unsavvy. I bought my last computer parts and had someone assemble it (which, in hindsight, was a bad idea/ripoff, but I didn't really know any better.) and looking at some of the steps to upgrade to 64 bit windows, I'm pretty sure I'd break my computer somehow. I'm fine with installing mods and managing stuff like that, because it's generally really easy, but anything past that, I'm a complete and total dud on, and I will admit that. So building my own PC is going to be out of the question (plus, trying to convince my mom to let me do soldering in the house, or getting the tools for that sort of thing is a whole other problem) however, I've basically heard that pretty much all prebuilt PC's supposedly for gaming (like alienware) are crap, and they're ridiculously expensive to boot. I don't really care about maxing stuff out, or hardware specs, or anything like that. I'm honestly not all that technical of a person. I just want to be able to play the games I've been excited for, and I don't want them to look or play like crap (well, I guess they could disappoint in gameplay, but what I mean is that I don't want to be freezing/crashing/etc from specs that aren't up to the challenge.) Any suggestions? I'm all ears.

I don't believe so. When I disable MOO, they don't disappear, they remain, except they're not aggressive. With MOO on, they are aggressive. -

I'm bringing this back because mudcrabs have started attacking again. It's still Maskar's, as they don't when I disable it. I don't know what to do, setting Mudcrabs to 0 worked for a bit, but now it seems to not be working for whatever reason. Help? -
Hey guys! Awhile back, I found this mod that added some new creatures to the game, or at least their assets. I don't remember all the creatures added, but two were distinctive and should be easy to find, if anyone knows of this mod. The first was a daedric monster that used the dragon skeleton and had the head of Molag Bal, and the other also used the dragon skeleton, but was made out of bloody bones.

Missing Meshes in Caves

No, I've been kind of afraid that it'll install and then will be the same but I won't be able to get it out. Plus, I'm not sure which version to install manually. Should I still use the ESP version, or use one of the other versions? Sorry, despite being competent enough to install and manage mods, I admit I suck at all the technical stuff. -
Currently I'm having a problem with some missing meshes in caves. So far, the caves I've had problems with are Bleak Flats Cave (where Erthor is) and Bloodcrust Cavern. They both have giant yellow stars that say "WTF MISSING MESH" in various places. Some items don't show up (they only show as "" when you click on them) while, at least in Bleak Flats, some were items I'd expect to show up, like potatoes and carrots. I believe I've traced the problem to the Better Dungeons mod, as I do not get these errors after disabling that mod. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and also completely deleting and redownloading it to no avail. I am using the ESP version through NMM. Help?

So, after a bit of playing, Mudcrabs were attacking me, despite having Passive Mudcrabs installed. I was puzzled. After a lot of testing, I believe I found the culprit, Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul. I disabled the mod and wandered around a beach. No mudcrabs attacked. I enabled the mod, suddenly, mudcrabs were attacking me like I had murdered a loved relative. What can I do to keep Maskar's, but make Mudcrabs passive again?

Skyrim pays its oceans and lakes and rivers so little mind, it's awful. With so much water in the map, I dislike seeing it all pretty much wasted. I've only seen a few mods that introduce more life into Skyrim's waters, and it's either the wrong type of life (That mod that adds a bunch of tropical animals like tropical fish and sharks) or it's meant to be less immersive (like the sea monster mod.) I'd like to see a mod that overhauls Skyrim's aquatic life, adding aquatic insects, fish, and other creatures to the waters. Here are a list of some animals that could be added to Skyrim's Waters, catagorized into Rivers, Lakes, and Oceans. In addition, I think Skyrim needs a few more species of Insect, which I have also listed. Rivers: Water Striders. Those small insects often found skimming around on the pond surface. Could also be found in lakes. Slaughterfish: Already in the game, although I would reduce their numbers, as currently the rivers are chock full of them. More varied Fish: All the fish besides Slaughterfish and salmon look like guppies. Let's make the Histcarp actually look like a carp, and the Silverside Perch actually look like a perch. Lakes: Diving Beetles Larger Lake Fish, Bass, Walleye, Sturgeon, fantasy fish that you make up. Trout? Oceans: Large schools of ocean fish, some large, some small. Since these are not tropical waters, they should be silvery or other more neutral colors. Get rid of Slaugtherfish in the Ocean. It makes no sense for them to be both freshwater and Saltwater Replace Ocean Slaughterfish with Coldwater Sharks. In addition, Skyrim is lacking a bit in Insects/arthropods. Perhaps a few of these could be added. Centipedes/millipedes Small Spiders (Based off of the Albino Spider model, I imagine.) Beetles Flies (Could shrink and recolor the bee model.)

One of the most immersion breaking things about Skyrim is that enemies like bandits, animals, undead, etc, can't follow you into cities, or out of caves or forts. I really don't get why this is a thing in Skyrim given that A) Guards will still do this and B) Oblivion did this. For example, in Oblivion, let's say I'm exploring an Ayleid Ruin and come across a high level bandit who I can't deal with. I can run out of the fort, but the bandit will chase me out of the fort as well. In Skyrim, I can run out of a fort, heck, I can stand outside the freaking door, and nothing. No bandit following me. He'll stay inside because he's not a velociraptor and hasn't learned to open doors I guess. Anyway, if anyone could fix it, it would be much appreciated. It's clear that the coding/scripts/whatever must be there, since Guards are able to transition between zones, as are fleeing townspeople, just somehow this code wasn't applied to bandits or other enemies.

Looking for a mod that improves enemy AI. For example, makes enemies more dynamic, maybe some fight to the death, while others run away as soon as they are outnumbered (and not that crawling away, or the running and hiding, but actually continuous running away from you. Makes them stay on alert of you stealth kill someone.
