  1. Hey I'm really glad it worked out for you!!! That SSME is a god send for real lol. The ENB settings can be tweaked to your appropriate settings. I would probably make a separate post, asking about enblocal settings. It's different for everyone and others may give better advice than I could xD And okay that's cool, some just make a lot of changes and default ini's end up being there fix, but with SSME it's not a huge issue anymore. Yeah the ISP throttling you is probably what it is. I know my speeds are all over the place at times. You are very welcome ^__^ have fun!
  2. No problem! I would recommend getitng the ENB file anyway. The vanilla enb doesn't use any graphical effects of any kind, but still has ENBboost features that will help your game, even if it doesn't fix your current problem. It is EXTREMELY highly recommended to use. This video by Gopher tells about what it does. Don't use the mod he linked though, it's an old version of enbboost, you would want enb 254. With your limited system specs, I would recommend it. Skyrim may be crashing after reaching 3.1GB of RAM usage, and with your 4GB of RAM, the enb can work around this for you.
  3. And this has always happened to you? Or just in this current play through? I remember before that my save manager would be set to save after battle, and also every 10 minutes I think. So I would get autosaves seconds later after it just autosaved because of that variable I had set up. But I'm guessing if you have it set up, then you know it isn't the problem. I would say try it on a new game and see if it does it or not. If you have and it still does, probably a verify is in order, or at the most extreme a reinstall. But no I don't know how autosave works haha except that it shouldn't be working when you have set it not too!! xD
  4. Good dedicated laptop chip is a plus. Could you post your other specs for us? With those we can go forward with what you'll need to adjust. Also, are you using any mods at all? If so, can you post a list of them? If you don't know how, I can tell you. I see True Vision is still using an older ENB (236 vs 254) It could be that the memory enhancements there aren't that great. I can't recall how 236 is.
  5. Damn you played all the way up to that? I mean I guess it isn't far really but lol Anyway that aside, I don't recognize quite a few of your mods to be honest. Just guessing it seems like a lot are probably armor mods. However some mods I notice that are missing that you absolutely NEED are the unofficial patches. Unofficial Skyrim Patch ---- http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19/? Unofficial Dawngaurd Patch ---- http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23491/? Unofficial Dragonborn Patch ---- http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31083/? Boss will sort these right for you after running. I would recommend putting Amazing Follower Tweaks at the very bottom of your load order too. Followers won't work correctly that are loaded below it. Would recommend getting Wrye Bash and making a bashed patch. AFT you should put above this, as it's recommended BASHED patch to be at the bottom. In fact I think it must be. Wrye Bash -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/? Guide - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36189/? 2.) Assuming you are using the memory patch? If not get 'er >http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/? (Probably an instant fix if you don't have it already. Allocates more memory blocks to the initial skyrim to prevent CTD) 3.) Using ENB of any sort? If not get 'er > http://www.enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrim_v0254.html (You don't need to use the enb effects, but this will help with memory management as well and works perfectly with SSME above) These three things will probably stop the seemingly random crash you are having. I mean random in the sense that it shouldn't be happening xD At this point in the game there is probably so much built in your save file that it's just loading up so much and crashing. Also check your file save size, there may be some save bloat of some sort. You can also try using LOOT instead of BOSS. It may have favorable results for you and stop your CTD. Sorry if you've tried all this stuff already, just throwing tips out  Also, I will say it's impressive you are able to run the game with the specs you have, with number of mods you have running lol
  6. Hey! I see you are new so I'll just ask the quick basics. Firstly, it's a good tip to turn off ALL auto save features. Furthermore, quicksave and quickload are rubbish. They simply just seem to cause more problems than the convenience is worth. Hardsaves are much more stable and I would say going forward, that is what you should do. I don't think I've ever read contradicting statements or opinions on that matter. But lets try to fix things for you! :) 1.) Are you using the SSME patch? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/? (Alternatively you can google how to use it with SKSE, but I prefer the first method). If you aren't, this may be your godsend, cause it certainly has been and will be for many to come. It's really simple, just download and extract it to your MAIN skyrim directory. You can read the technical stuff on the page, it will most likely fix your problem I am guessing. 2.) Are you using ENB? If not you should be at least using the default enb, for all the performance enhancements is brings. Without them, you could be getting some CTD based on various factors overloading your system. http://www.enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrim_v0254.html (If you need help installing it, let us know) 3.) Any Skyrim.ini or SkyrimPrefs.ini tweaks done? I'm going to guess no but just thought I'd ask. 4.) Have you used LOOT at all? f not I would suggest getting it and using it. If you've been playing for awhile without problems though, then I would NOT recommend using this on your existing save game. If your problem isn't fixed from #1, then this will help you in the future and will prevent any errors. 5.) As for your long sync issues with Steam. I believe you probably need to defrag your computer. Skyrim and lots of mods take up large chunks of your computer and between adding and removing them really bogs down on the SATA drives. You can find a decent free one from googling, though if you can, a paid one really is a lot better. Steam Workshop has some great mods that are only available there, but it's hard to manage them as you have to use the Steam launcher which is not what people usually use for modding/mods. Try number one though and see if it helps. I know I sound like I'm repeating myself, but seriously, I think it's going to fix your problem. #2 really will help as well.
  7. Agreed. I didn't think about that. There are few autosave places (I think the quest 'Hitting the books' comes to mind as one that does) but yeah, the save is broke if it's doing it anyway. You could try something like PDTwrapper save cleaner, but you honestly are better starting over. Again, if that is the case.
  8. You may need to do a defrag. I would suggest finding a really good free one (though, I will be honest, I don't think any free ones are worth it). You could try using Contig, which is a nice super defrag type program for specific folders. Defragging once a week keeps my skyrim running silky smooth. I definitely notice performance drops after uninstalling/installing mods and programs so.
  9. You could try turning on 'WaitBusyRender' in your enblocal. I have had the same problem you described, and that feature really helps me out. You lose anywhere from 5-10fps, but it smooths stuff out real nice. You won't really notice it after awhile.
  10. I like it as well, although I think it reset everything I've ever endorsed or something. I keep having certain mods listed that I KNOW for a fact I have endorsed before, but when I go to download they still randomly pop-up, acting like I've never done it before.
  11. My in-game wife has always been the same character, and she is Breton. I use anything that has a 'wild' or 'wilderness' feel too it. Forsworn armors are a good basis I would think. I don't know if that's right in lore or not, but that's what I've chosen to go with haha
  12. You don't have any mods that may have some autosave in it? For instance, I have the 'Dynamic Timescale' mod and it has a built in auto-save feature that you can use. If not, then I really have no idea. I've never had it autosave on me before when I've had those turned off. Is it doing it for all auto-save types? Resting, fast travel, wait, pause? If it is only doing it on some or one, we may be able to narrow the problem down.
  13. Yeah it's something new to mod haha they're really really well done too, even considering the nature they all seem to be.
  14. I have the latest version, but is the ability to change classes for her still out the window? I was going to switch her to a healer but I notice those options on the MCM menu are blank (both in my existing and when I try a new game.)
  15. Yeah I hear ya. It really sucks sometimes having to start over after making so much progress but I usually only do it cause of my own fault. Installing new mods and having to uninstall unused ones xD haha Glad to hear you're playing fine now :)
  16. Good to hear that your tests are going good ^__^. I'm not sure how you would go about doing that. I need to still switch to MO xD Those camera tweaks are nice though for sure. Sorry for my pointless post haha, just thought I'd check how it went for you.
  17. I would seriously consider NOT tweaking your ini files when starting over (unless a mod calls for it); almost NO ini tweak improves stability, most decrease it. Especially ugrids; leave it at 5 until everything works. Get your game working reliably, THEN start tweaking ini files IF you know what the ini setting does, what value range the setting can take, and if you need to change another setting concurrently. I have highly modded Skyrim setups using vanilla ini files changed only by game settings; they NEVER crash. Honestly. And double-check that you have a current enbseries; it is as important as SKSE/SSME memory patching for heavy mod loads. Again, agreed. I was meaing my Enblocal.ini though not my others. Mine are also default except shadows (and obviously those papyrus I listed) but otherwise they are default and my game has run better since. I use to do all sorts of crap with them but ultimately it's just more harm done than good. This is what my memory section looks like in my enblocal.ini (the //notes are not mine comments, they are the authors of the enb) <spoiler> [MEMORY]//Keep ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true even on 32bit OS//This flag with false can CTD if your Skyrim is heavily modded with HD texturesExpandSystemMemoryX64=true //ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false if you want 3.1GB CTD againReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true //Keep DisableDriverMemoryManager=true for lowering CTD due to bad GPU driverDisableDriverMemoryManager=true //If 32bit OS, set EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks to trueEnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false //DisablePreloadToVRAM=false less stutter but longer load time//DisablePreloadToVRAM=true stutter after load but lowers infinite loadingDisablePreloadToVRAM=false //If experiencing CTD, try lowering ReservedMemorySizeMb to 256ReservedMemorySizeMb=256 //Use the following value for VideoMemorySizeMb, always lower than VRAM size//If higher than VRAM size, you'll experience stutter. //VRAM <= 1GB: 1024 or 512//VRAM <= 2GB: 2048 or lower//VRAM <= 3GB: 3096 or lower//VRAM <= 4GB: 4096 or lower//VRAM <= 6GB: 6144 or lowerVideoMemorySizeMb=8192//ENB memory compression for keep memory low usage.//EnableCompression=false to reduce stuttering but may get 3.1GB CTD again.EnableCompression=true //ENB to manage the VideoMemorySizeMb if set to true.//Try set this to true if you experience massive stutter when going from indoor to outdoor.AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false </spoiler>
  18. I don't think he's using 'Safety Load' (are you, OP?), but yes, 'Safety Load' is not needed if one is already using the 'memory patch' either via SSME or SKSE 1.7 (both do the same thing, and will address ILS, thus rendering 'Safety Load' redundant). The 4GB patch is definitely no longer needed (as Carmaro said). CTD every 8 hours....isn't that great. I CTD once every few months. I think you are probably suffering from the same 'too many mods to manage' root problem. Are you making your own custom compatibility patches? Well to be honest, I don't really have a solid number. I think the longest session I've ever sat and played through was like 300 minutes. That's how I time my CTD's. Usually I start getting them (and rightfully so) cause I look through my mod list on NMM and see I don't use something ever and uninstall and then I have to start over cause it inevitably means crashes haha. But you are correct. I would also suggest, perhaps trying LOOT instead of Boss? I've had fantastic results with it. Now since I don't use MO (I plan to in the future) I still have to manually edit some of my load order, but other than a few plugins, it does the job.
  19. CCOR I would keep. It's really nice and I've had it for months now. These suggestions seem great though. If you haven't played through Wrymstooth or Falksaar you should. I personally have never finished either myself but I know that I'll have some DLC goodness with it ^__^
  20. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/ <<-- you could try using this instead of the SKSE.ini lines. (I'm assuming you have 1.7 alpha right?) I only suggest that, as when I tried to use it and increase my memory blocks, my game would never even start, but using the files from the SSME I was able too. I would suggest taking out Safetyload. I know people say you can still use it (and you can) but I've had no CTD since removing it and no ILS so that's always a suggestion. I have a single R9 270x, my i5-3570k is only at 3.8, and I have 8GB RAM, and I run 2..well Idk I just added some. I'm at like 249 I think haha 249 plugins. Most are texture/armor/weapon/follower stuff. But there are the classics in there too, many having scripts etc. My game barely crashes. It's taking ages to get it stable, but I think it may crash like once every 8 hours now. Anyway I digress. EnbBoost definitely (just get the 254 version from the enb site, don't get enbboost off of nexus if that's what you have, it's a super old version). And yeah, a fresh reinstall of the game and mods may just be what you need. I've done it many times, it sucks and takes hours but it's worth it. Starting a fresh character helps too. Best of luck! =]
  21. I don't disagree with you, I can leave my papyrus settings alone and I won't get any crashes. Having it at 400 lowers my script latency. I seem to have much of the same mods as you, though one or two must be making my script latency worse for me. Without changing those settings, my script lag is anywhere from 150-300ms, where with 400 I get between 50-100ms. It just works out for me with that. However...you have given me an idea on the limiting fps. I use to limit it by using 'WaitBusyRender' which effectively lowers my fps and smooths gameplay, but script latency has always gone up (according to the CH test). I wonder if just straight out limiting fps would be the same, or cause my latency to go down. Cause I don't really like having to change my papyrus settings if I don't have too. I agree with you again, and say that if you don't have ENB (enb boost is included by default in version 254) you should definitely get it. You can use it without the graphics if you don't like enb, and it will still help you big time. Settings for it you will kind of have to test, but I can leave my settings posted if you'd like. I'm sure others will too.
  22. I took a look at your ini files. They look pretty good, but one thing that has always given me a CTD is having fUpdateBudgetMS=800.0fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800.0 WITHOUT FAIL, these two will always make me crash, on a heavily modded game with scripts blah blah blah I use this in my papyrus (aside from disabling logging etc.) fUpdateBudgetMS=400.0fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=400.0 iMinMemoryPageSize=2048iMaxMemoryPageSize=4096 turning them down to 400 has given me ZERO crashes so far. The other settings never have, it's always those at 800 just overload my cpu I think. If I could crank my ghz up more I would but my budget cooler doesn't allow me too.Just my thoughts.
  23. Yeah time travel would make the most sense. If you plan to play as one, I'd download a custom race (Ashen for example) to make a character that stands out against the rest. You could just make him half Akaviri like I have my wife be in all playthroughs. Her character model looks partly asian so it works out. And I think the reason he wants a backstory is because he likes immersion lol
  24. Immersive First Person is sweet, but I ended up only using it for horse back riding, and only cause I hated the camera being so far away. I want to try dynamic head tracking, but when I used it on it's release it was bad. My guy was turning his head every which way 24/7 haha In theory, you should be okay as long as the plugins aren't checked. If you're going to use SkyRe though & the MCM menus are showing, I would suggest that you just delete your Skyrim folder entirely. Better safe than sorry on that. You'll have to boot up NMM and then let it uninstall the mods (even though they are already gone). I know it's a pain and TAKES FOREVER to reinstall all of it but it's worth it in the end.
  25. Warburg's 3D Paper Map <--- Definitely. I think I use texture 2. It outlines the holds and looks like a legit old time map. Audio Overhaul for sure, along with Immersive Sounds (they are compatible). Immersive Sounds alone has brought new life to my game. It has been constantly dropping my jaw on this new playthrough. Immersive HUD and Less Intrusive Hud 2 can make the game really nice for you. I don't play with crosshairs (EVER!!!!!!!!!) and I've become an expert at bow shooting and magic casting. Crossbows are a little harder at first but you'll get the hang of it. Project Ultimatum is really sick too. It adds a number of features I have always wanted and changes things around to be more lore friendly. And finally, I have more of a recommendation, than a mod from me personally. If you play a female, or have female followers, try not to dress them up in ridiculous (but sexy) armor. That's not immersive at all. It's hard not too, but you could always get something like 'Wardrobe Manager' and set up where they change into something visually appealing when at home or in town etc.
