  1. Hey guys I'm just looking for some help to create some custom songs that Bards can sing in the taverns. I'm assuming I'd just put the finished mod in the correct folder but what I can't figure out is how to convert the audio file to a .fuz or if I even have to. Any help would be appreciated !
  2. Hey guys just finished the first ever mod I've ever done in any sort lol. How do I take my textures/clothes/archmage/m/robe.dds and hood.dds and make it into a zip file for upload to the Nexus?
  3. Sweet, this is so awesome. Thanks for the help guys. I swear my girl friend just came in here and she isn't computer illiterate but she's not really into them. Anyway when I told her I finally got it figured out she said she thought that's all it was that I had to create my own folder. Wow I feel so dumb. Sleep deprived from all the Skyrim gaming haha.
  4. Thanks so much for the help guys. I think I know what to do now :) One last note, is it possible for me to save the original somehow so if I don't like the way it turned out I can place it back in there? OR if I simply deleted the .dds file in the folder I created would it revert back?
  5. Yes that is exactly what I'm talking about. Will doing that fix it though? I mean the only thing I would add to it would be the one file I edit.
  6. Ok I'll try to explain better. Windows Explorer. The thing you use that will let you look at everything on your pc. If I navigate to my Skyrim install directory and go under Textures it only has the 5 folders I told you about in an earlier post. That doesn't make any sense to me. If I use a BSA program It will actually show all the folders and I can open them in Gimp no problem. After I save the new texture file (.dds) I can't place it back into the Skyrim directory because when I navigate there with Windows Explorer it simply will not show the rest of the texture folders.
  7. I think I'm misunderstanding you or something. How would the program I use to unpack stuff effect in anyway my actual install directory on my hard drive? Like if I go to my computer, select C drive, then Skyrim and then textures there are tons that don't show up. Is it possible they went away after I unpacked them? I don't see how that's possible as i only chose a select few.
  8. Hey guys I've been attempting to mod a few textures for Skyrim using BSAopt. That program allows you to pull the BSA files from your Skyrim directory and edit them as .dds files in GIMP or Photoshop. I have no problem pulling the files and editing them using GIMP. The problem is putting them back. For some reason under the texture folder in my install directory it only shows 5 files. It's missing Architecture, armor, clothes, and many more. This is a major problem as I'm trying to mod robes and other clothing. The only ones that show up in my texture file are actors, clutter, effects, landscapes and sky. I'm new to this and I've been up almost 24 hours so there has got to be something I'm missing here. Any help would be appreciated. For the record I know my process must be right because to test it out I opened up the road.dds file and changed the color to pink. I then placed the new file into the landscape directory abd loaded Skyrim up. Lo and behold the road was pink lol. If I could just get those other files to show I'd be so happy. Gazillion billion rep to anyone who can solve this.
  9. Dude I made a post in the mod request forums about this exact same thing. I would DIE for a mod like this... Also I really don't even think you'd have to do all of Westeros. As I talked about in my thread I think Skyrim is already almost set up 100% perfect for the "North" and beyond the wall. You have tons of mountains and tons of snow. You also have monsters in the game already that remind me of the "others" in the books. I think the biggest thing that would have to be added (outside of NPC's being renamed and reskinned and such) would probably be the wall itself. Obviously you'd want it to be big but you'd also have to be able to enter it and such. I don;t have any skill with modding but if it comes down to people actually willing to work on it and stuff I could easily help write the story and character text and all.
  10. I'm bumping this b/c I actually had the same thought the other day before reading this thread. If possible this would be simply amazing.
  11. I was just thinking about how the setting in Skyrim is almost 100% perfect for the Song of Ice and Fire series by GRRM. Think about the North and how it's described in the books, it's almost the exact same thing as in Skyrim. I really think a total conversion type mod would rock. Granted this is a huge request I'm sure but if anyone out there has mad modding skills and is a huge fan of those books I think this would be great!
