  1. ...Legendary comes with the exact same content as downloading the game incrementally... DLC's and all. I have no idea what you're talking about...
  2. I swear I've probably been through the dungeon Faldar's Tooth 25+ times by now throughout all my gameplays, but this time I noticed something I hadn't before: in the second room with wolves in cages, behind the slamming spiked gate trap was a locked chest, a leveled warhammer, and a lever. In order to get to it, you have to activate the trap and run behind it before it resets. I cannot, however, for the life of me figure out what this lever does. I even looked at it using the Creation Kit and didn't see any references to it: it has no Active Parents, Linked References, or even Multibound Data. While I suppose it's possible that this lever does "nothing", it just seems... unlikely. I've run across very few (if any) activators that don't have a purpose. Does anyone know what this does, or is supposed to do? 3. Same issue, but on a much bigger scale: it takes at least 5 minutes to load a page, and when it does, not of the images will render. When trying to browse tabs on a mod's page, it will spin it's wheels indefinitely. This has only been going on since this morning, May 23, 2013. It worked fine last night when I was updating mods, so sometime between 2:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. (EST) the issue started. If it helps, I run off the eastern U.S. servers. Also, seems like it may be a related issue as to what happened to me in March... http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/955662-servers-super-slow-to-respond/&do=findComment&comment=7708794 Would be nice to get an update from the admins, just so we know they recognize the issue!
  4. I've been unable to connect to ONLY the Fallout: New Vegas site since yesterday. However, I'm getting by ok using TorBrowser as a proxy to access the site, and just running NMM in offline mode, and manually entering the mods into it after I download them manually. It also seems I can hit cancel on the Fallout Mod Manger's package manager to access it. It will crash every time I try to add a FOMOD to it, but when I load it back up again it has actually been added, so it's not that big of a deal. I do hope you guys fix this soon, though... Dark0ne, there's a whole other thread discussing this (or a related) issue: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/972072-cannot-reach-metadata-server/
  5. The worst past is the site isn't down. My friends can connect, and I can connect via proxy. It seems to be a localized issue with the site shutting out specific IP addresses or something. It would be nice to get a moderators attention... EDIT: This is as of many hours later, and I still can't connect... EDIT2: I'm getting by ok using TorBrowser as a proxy to access the site, and just running NMM in offline mode, and manually entering the mods into it after I download them manually. It also seems I can hit cancel on the Fallout Mod Manger's package manager to access it. 6. OMG its not just me! I can connect to every other Nexus site - Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3, etc. and all foums links, but all of a sudden as of like an hour ago today I can no longer reach newvegas.nexusmods.com - I cannot load the Fallout New Vegas version of Nexus Mod Manager (I get this error: "Cannot reach the Nexus metadata server." when it asks me to log in), and when I try to launch Fallout Mod Manager's Package manager feature to install FOMOD files, it asks me to log in, then crashes regardless of weather or not I put in the right password. I tried logging in and out of the Nexus site, reconnecting to my WiFi, restarting my computer, restarting my router, etc. The only thing that has worked for me is using a proxy to access the site. I can successfully use TorBrowser to connect to the site, but that doesn't help my FOMOD issue, so its a mute point: I can't properly install the mods even if I can download them. I seriously hope someone finds a decent solution to this SOON! EDIT: I forgot to say that when I try to connect, I get a "cant find" message from my internet service provider (I have Cox).
  7. Ok, I'm curious if anyone else is having the same issues, but http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/ has been as slow as a three-toed sloth trashed on Aerosol cans trying to tight rope walk across a ravine over the past few weeks. It's sluggishly slow to respond when loading webpages, and I often get errors such as "this mod doesn't exist" (which is eventually resolved by refreshing over and over again), "loading content" (which loops indefinitely), and the general "waiting for skyrim.nexusmods.com" that never ends. All other websites are working for me at my usual internet speeds, and I don't have anything specifically blocking the nexus's site. I tried adding it to exceptions for Microsoft Security Essentials, using another browser (I use Chrome), trying it on my laptop, ect. I am not a premium user, so was there an update that vastly favors premium users for browsing the website and not just for download threading...?
  8. I'm creating a mod where I need a way using papyrus scripts to force the player to stop using a furniture object that has a looping animation (the chisel animation from the Dragonborn DLC). I've been looking for a reference to such a function for a while and can't seem to find anything, so I thought I'd post the question in here and see if anyone knows how to do this. Thanks in advance for any help!
  9. After scouring the internet for a few hours and finding not a single hint as to how this is done, nor being able to determine it from looking at the vanilla Skyrim game in the CK, I thought I'd post my question here, as someone MUST know how to do this: I want to know how to force an NPC to initiate dialog with the player, and I mean the kind of dialog that forces you to stop moving, like when a guard arrests you. I cannot find out what triggers this - is it part of AI packages, or just something simple that I'm overlooking the the quest dialog's options? I attempted to use a "blocking" topic branch, but that didn't seem to work...</p> I'm hoping someone can answer this question, as I sure as heck can't! Thanks in advance for any assistance rendered!</p> EDIT: While I'm already asking CK questions, I thought I'd ask another: Can I make the game's time skip ahead several hours using scripts? Basically I want to do the equivalent of waiting for 12 hours, but attached to a script. I cannot find any references on how to do this. EDIT2: Is there a way to use papyrus scripts to force the player to leave a piece of furniture? I'm using the hammer and chisel furniture animation from the Dragonborn DLC, but I can't figure out a way to stop the animation from continuously looping without using player input, i.e. trying to move.
  10. Not to necro a slightly old-ish thread, but I just wanted to for documentation's sake that thunderbug's fix fixed my CTD issue as well, and the only mods I use that modify enchanting are Enchanting Freedom, and I think SkyRe (I'm fairly certain it modifies enchanting somewhat). So thanks a ton!
  11. Hello, I'm trying to work on a mod that adds to an area that consists of more than one cell in the Tamriel world space. The problem is that the Creation Kit refreshes the cell view in my render window while I move around to add this and that, making it very difficult to work with, especially since I often have to press F5 to get all the objects to load up properly every time the render window refreshes. I was wondering if it's even possible to tell the Creation Kit to render more cells closer to my point of reference, or to tell it that I want certain cells to stay rendered...? Needless to say I'm getting very frustrated trying to mod the area, and the Creation Kit is criminally undocumented on the internet in terms of custom features (the Creation Kit Wiki is extremely lacking in content). Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated! Edit: Unchecking "Allow Render Window Cell Loads" in the Render Window Properties menu is a partial fix, but I have to re-check it, move to the new cell, and uncheck it again, so I'm still hoping that there's a better way...
  12. Wait, so you had problems with skyrim and the mods you were running, so you reinstalled skyrim and the mods you were running? :armscrossed: Aside from that, your reinstall probably bumped skyrim to 1.8, and I imagine many mod authors are just now seeing compatibility issues and are working on updates and fixes. You'd be better off running BOSS, checking the logs (and acting on any warnings and errors), making adjustments, and try things like disabling one half of your mods, test for changes (did it fix your issue?), if not, disable the other half, test for changes, and slowly pin down which mods are actually causing these issues. Sorry, I should have been much more clear: my skyrim directory was very bloated with remnant files from mods I only half remembered installing, some of which had been partially removed. After I reinstalled the skyrim directory, I only reinstalled a fraction of the mods that I had, and those being the ones recognised by BOSS, and ones I had previously had no issues with. So yeah, I use BOSS, and I did increment the reinstallation of the mods to look for problems. I normally use magic and crossbows, so I didn't notice this bug until I had been playing for about an hour. Also, BOSS has no errors and no warnings. As it is, I'm just going to assume that one or another of the mods I run aren't up to date for Skyrim v1.8, so I suppose I'll just have to wait and see if updating these mods will fix the issue.
  13. Ok, I'm not technically sure if this is the right section to post this in, but it seemed to be the most appropriate, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section. Recently I had gotten fed up with spending 400% more time debugging Skyrim CTDs, freezes, and infinite loading screens than actually playing, so I decided to purge Skyrim and all the modifications I had/made off my computer. This involved not just deleting the local content via Steam, but both the skyrim directory in steam/steamapps/common and the one in My Documents (I zipped that one up to save the save files), and purging the files in %appdata%/roaming and %appdata%/temp. After reinstalling everything, including my mods, when I got into the game I noticed that attacking with a melee weapon had gotten more than a bit buggy. While power attacks and attacks standing still seem to behave just fine, any attack with a one or two handed weapon in which I am moving and/or strafing to one side causes my character to swing the weapon many times in quick succession, much faster than my attack speed allows. I checked this by battling enemies, and have found that it's not just a visual and sound bug, but that I'm actually swinging the weapon 2-4 times in approximately 1-2 seconds. I also noticed that my old pal the bug that causes issues with drawing/sheathing my weapon came back as well. I sometimes have to spam both left click (my attack key) and R (my sheath/unsheath key) to get the weapon to synch up with my hand so I can attack with it. While this, at least, seems like it may be caused by the custom animations that I have installed, coupled with the fact that I use PC Exclusive Animation Path by xp32 (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14871), I never had these issues before reinstalling. However, I suspect it may be because Skyrim recently updated to 1.8, and I'm still using the version of FNIS designed for 1.7, even though the author only has an optional update for 1.8 beta at this time. What I want to know is if this is an issue with the custom animation schemes I'm using, which mostly include Pretty_Combat_Idles by dualsun (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15703), or is the result of nothing more than the fact that SKSE hasn't been updated to 1.8, and that I'm using the version designed for 1.8 beta. I suppose the issue could also be with the mod Dual Wield Parrying by Borgut1337 (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9247), if DragonScript needs to be updated to 1.8 as well. Oddly enough, this only happens in third person, but that's how I prefer to play Skyrim, so I do need to find out what's causing this... A video showing what's happening can be found here. I am using a custom weapon in the video, but I have tested and this happens with all weapons, including the vanilla ones. Thanks in advance for any help!
  14. I don't think it's what the Jarl uses to escape, because when I played Stormcloaks, right after we won Whiterun I went around Dragonsreach looting and saw the Jarl's entire court crammed into one side room in his quarters - the one with the wall of bookshelves with a mammoth tusk on top, and the silver bars in the basket on the floor.
