  1. I'm thinking of trying out ACE for a new play-through on a warrior type character that uses one-handed, archery, and heavy armor. Would this be viable and balanced in it? Also does ACE make the game easier or harder difficulty wise? Or would it be better to use SkyRe? Those are really the two I am between. Haven't tried either yet.
  2. Sorry to revive this old thread, but my question fits in with Sovngarde and the after life in the Elder Scrolls. Warning that this has to do with a huge spoiler in the main quest of Skyrim.
  3. I know it's not Bethesda but it is still licensed by them and takes place in the actual storyline, 1000 years before Skyrim. I'm sure Bethesda just isn't going to let a company do whatever they want with their franchise.
  4. I would like to know if anyone thinks the Empire could just fall and go away since it has been such a key part to the series over the years. Especially since the new Elder Scrolls Online game has no Imperials at all.
  5. I don't know about the pre-morrowind games but the combat system in Morrowind was almost non existent, there was no blocking or timing because it was done automatically by dice rolls and all you could do is hit attack. I can't say much about Oblivion because I always played with Deadly Reflex combat mod. Skyrims combat is probably the best in the series. I don't understand how you could say it's worse. Also Oblivion's dungeons and world were very cookie-cutter, copy and paste, and similar. Skyrim's dungeons are all handcrafted and unique. The only things that have been dumbed down are the technical RPG parts like attributes and other statistics. Also I'm pretty sure Oblivion's loot and even what you encountered was even more scaled to your level than Skyrim is.
  6. Do you have any references to this I could look at Lachdonin?
  7. That is not what my Lore sources say. It says Men first originated in other continents such as Atmora and migrated to Skyrim via sea even Nords. It also states that Mer did a similar thing but did so long before any men arrived in Tamirel. It also says that the original life forms on Tamirel were the Hist which the Argoanions come from. The Khaijit became present after that.
  8. I want a DLC in similar size and content as the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion. I haven't bought any of the DLC for Skyrim yet and I think they should limit DLC to a couple add-on packs or expansions. As on what it could be, I would really like to see more about the Akivari races and culture.
  9. That still makes the Stormcloaks worse in the racism department because they aren't under control of anyone and are racist because they want to be. Although in all honesty neither the Thalmor, Empire, or the Nords have any rightful "claim" to Skyrim because they aren't native. So really just pick your poison. It's like the French, Spanish, and British fighting over North America in the colonial days.
  10. That is what happens when you lose a war, you have to make comprises. The Thalmor are also not kidnapping because it is part of the treaty that they can get rid of Talos Worshippers and the Empire has made it against the law. Also, I'm pretty sure you meant the Empire because you argued against the fact I said the Stormcloaks were racist and you said the High Elves "of the Empire" were just as racist. Also to be fair not all the High Elves or even the Aldmeri Dominion is racist, The Thalmor are, they are just a group that took the power during the Oblivion crisis. If you didn't mean the Empire is just as racist, why are you arguing against me? I was arguing that they weren't racist and it was the Thalmor in the first place.
  11. The Thalmor are not part the Empire, they have sent ambassadors to make sure the Empire honors the treaty and I don't think signing a treaty makes you part of a nation. Especially since the Thalmor and Empire hate each other. Also considering the Empire has ruled for hundreds of years with a tolerant, civilized and free opportunity society as well as keeping Oblivion out of Nirn before the crisis as well as stopping it. While the Thalmor are bent on high elven domination and taking their continent back. I don't see how because they are forced to let Thalmor ambassadors and such in makes them just as racist. All your point proves in fact is that the Stormcloaks are just as racist as the Thalmor, not the Empire.
  12. Ya, I don't like their racism. At least the Empire is civilized and tolerant of all races.
  13. I think that may have to do with them being crossbred with Elves.
  14. I think a lot of people like to forget that the Nords are not the natives of Skyrim. They came from Atmora and killed all the people who were already there, whom which were not men. They have as much claim as the Empire or even the Thalmor do over that region of Tamriel. It is basically their home because they have no where else to go and are the current holders of that territory. The same could be said about the Thalmor, they have quite the point and think men are nothing but trouble. Only difference is one is for elf dominance the other for nord.
