  1. Hell even Oblivion allowed for the option of wearing two rings. Not sure why they suddenly took away one ring slot for Skyrim. (and World of Warcraft - played it for 5 years as a serious hard core raider - also allows for 2 ring slots)
  2. Heck even Blizzard implemented Barber Shops in most major cities about 3 years into the game (and I'd hated my priest's hairdo since about level 15 and she was my raiding main for much of Burning Crusade) and I'd love to see a barber (maybe as part of Radiant Raiment? "You can't go to the Blue Palace with hair like THAT")
  3. So I keep reading on the forums about who people get passionate about a certain NPC/Companion in the game that they wish had more backstory, more RP options, more fleshing out (and I have a couple myself). So I started thinking about breaking it down to an NPC by NPC project process with people submitting who they'd like to see fleshed out and if they have any relevant skills to add to the project(s) at hand. I am not a modder but I am willing to help write character dialogue and quest text if some more experienced modders want to help with this enterprise. I was thinking of calling it the Character Profile series as in Character Profile: Marcurio or Character Profile: Lydia. What I aim to do is flesh out their backstories, adding quests for them (for example helping deliver letters from the NPC in question to family members serving in either the Imperial Legion or the Stormcloaks or bringing/buying them something like better armor/weapons/robes/jewelry upgrades.) In the case of Lydia (who spends her entire day by herself some of the time in Breezeholme) I would like to add in the option of giving her a market booth in Whiterun that sells the random stuff I pick up in my travels (armor, books, weapons, crafting supplies) so that the poor girl gets out of the house, gets to make some gold for herself and gets to have a life, as well as fleshing out her backstory via dialogue options and giving her some quests that you can do for her while she's tending to your affairs in Whiterun. Marcurio is my favourite companion for my Nord paladin and I would love to expand his dialogue options so I could learn about him more - why he became a mage, what his last name is, where he came from etc rather than just the basic follower dialogue. I think it'd be neat if he insisted on visiting the College at Winterhold periodically to visit the library (and maybe learned a new spell every now and again after visiting the College).
  4. I have a suggestion to make - I'm not a modder, but I am an enthusiastic user of mods - why not take each Companion/marriage partner/other NPC as a single project. Example Lydia mod, add additional back story to her, create quests for her where she sends you to give her brother in the Imperial Army stationed in Solitude letters to deliver, add to her dialogue (maybe with something similar to Elyse's no voice mod for Oblivion so that at least she'll have some new conversational topics), give her the option to open a market stall in Whiterun to sell all the random crap you pick up in exchange for a profits (so that her entire life isn't just spent sitting in the house by herself). Not sure if she's on the marriage list or not. I haven't had time to check out the Temple of Mara yet; just finished the main quest, the civil war questline (that was actually an ethical decision I spent a couple of days thinking about on my Nord paladin), the Mage's Guild and the Bard's Guild questlines. (And boy am I annoyed that I can't PLAY any of the damn instruments in the game. I'M A BARD, the animations are in the game for the NPCs, the songs have been recorded, there's already the precedent of us watching our characters do the mining animation over and over and over - I'd rather watch my character sing for coins in the tavern at night or outside the window of my beloved in the evening as part of the Quest to woo her and win her heart.) But seriously why not make up a list of characters (I'll start a new thread for this) to flesh out the back stories, dialogue etc options of and see who gets involved from there. Oh and I should mention that The Sims franchise has almost always incorporated into gameplay (since the very first expansion pack for The Sims 1 with the introduction of The Love Bed) the option for two adult Sims of any gender configuration to WooHoo provided both parties' Needs bars had been met. Like a Sim who's really hungry and the host sim hasn't fed them for 3 or so hours and has to pee is going to say NO to contextual sex whereas if the host serves them a meal, lets them chill in the hot tub for a bit, talks to them, gets to know them better and then starts massaging them until they end up in the Love Bed for some contextual sex (with animations, noises, and tastefully done cutscenes interspliced).
  5. excellent, this mod going to be awesome. I think one of the songs you should record with this character is the "Lusty Argonian Maid".
  6. I love this idea! I'd add the option to "perform for lodging" to innkeepers so that their in house bard can take a night off and maybe learn some new songs plus the chance of earning tips from the audience. I would love to see harps added to the game too (but that would probably require a ton of new animations so not sure how feasible that would be). And the ability to track all the songs I've come across in in-game lore books in one central inventory book.
  7. I was totally disappointed to join the Bards college and discover that I STILL couldn't play all the cool instruments I see in game. I would totally love to see the option to 'perform' on an instrument (from a choice of the pre-recorded in game music of course) kind of like we already get to stand around watching our characters mine...and mine...and mine endlessly. If we could earn coin (or a "sing for lodging' option added to inn-keeper dialogue!) by busking in the streets of Solitude that would be even sweeter.
  8. The ability for my character to be a true Bard and actually be able to PLAY the flutes and lutes and drums that are all over the game world. Oh and there are so many songs in the lore books. I think it would be super cool if there was a mod that added the words to an ingame songbook (maybe tied to an inventory item)n
  9. When I'm talking to a merchant, better than half the time when I click on one item in their inventory, it dumps me back to the conversation menu. As someone who is a compulsive in-game shopper, this happens to me ALL the time and it never happened in Oblivion :( (where I was also a compulsive shopper and book collector) it negatively impacts my game play and hopefully it gets fixed soon.
  10. +1 - a wardrobe mod (with hotkeys! and if they happened to work with the Gkeys on my Logitech keyboard that would be even more awesome) - click of the button I could go from my town clothes to my war kit.
  11. That would be super awesome! My SCA persona is Norse and I have a complete set of jewelry for her :)
  12. This has been the impression I've gotten from Curse. That was my experience during the 5 years I was in hardcore WoW progression guilds (which pretty much mandates Curse since you can't raid w/out addons) and Curse was so user-unfriendly. TESNexus is friendly, easy to use, and full of really nice people so far. Plus they aren't asking for money every third mouse-click.
  13. Hi all, I fell in love with the Apron of Adroitness (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Apron_of_Adroitness) from Oblivion. It looks a LOT like a traditional Norse woman's outfit (http://www.revivalclothing.com/10th-11thcearlymedievalvikingaprondress.aspx). My Nord warrior used it as her shopping dress when running errands in the Imperial City or visiting castles. I bet I'm not the only immersion geek who'd love a more historically accurate wardrobe too!
  14. Wholeheartedly agree!! It feels like an awkward port from a console to PC :(
  15. I hate the new UI :( I never played Morrowind but I played Oblivion to death and I loved the UI for it. This new one is going to take a LOT of getting used to - and while I'd consider letting my 10 year old play Oblivion, the intro scene for Skyrim makes this one totally off limits for her.
