Have fun!

In short, you should explore the entire game, calmly, so as not to miss any of the stories told here! If you still want to play another game, do so and then return to Starfield whenever you want. Starfield is not a game to beat! You play the game in a hurry and miss the best of it. 10 things I recommend: 1 - Don't refuse any mission! 2 - Search every corner, read everything, listen to everything and open all the safes. Buy Digipicks whenever you can and save the game before using a Digipick. Some safes are empty, has as it also happens in real life... 3 - Talk to everyone, but don't do it at the same time. Otherwise you will be left with a mountain of missions to complete! The big secret of this game is to do all the missions there are to do, but do them without rushing. Return to places you've already been to get more quests from other NPCs, after finishing a quest from an NPC. 4 - Avoid mixing missions!!! Whenever possible, when you are doing a mission, finish that mission, don't mix it with another one. Also only do the missions from a questline, until you finish the same one. If you do a small quest in the meantime, like going to kill a pirate in a certain place, that's not a problem. Where there might be a problem is if you mix missions and long questlines. Why? Firstly, because you can lose the thread of the stories of each questline. Secondly, if in one of the missions for one of these questlines has a bug, you will have to repeat not only the affected missions of that questline, but also the missions of the other questlines that you have also done in the meantime. Yes, bugs sometimes happen, although patches have already reduced this possibility. The only exception to this rule is the main questline. Make it whenever you feel like it and don’t be in a rush to finish it! I advise you to finish all the other important questlines first. These questlines are the Freestar Collective, Vanguard, Crimson Fleet, the personal missions of each Constellation companion, where you will learn about each one's past and even be able to marry one of them, and also the spy missions for Ryujin industries. 5 - When you want to talk to an NPC, save the game first! There are always several dialogue options and it's worth exploring them all, even if they seem absurd. Some of them are quite funny! You usually start by using the dialogue option at the bottom of the list and then use the others. 6 - Get married! Your first companion will be a blonde. Do missions with her whenever possible, until you manage to marry her. Delay the main quest until you can marry her. After you get married, advance to the main quest. Before or after you marry the blonde, you will discover a brunette. Maybe you're more attracted to the latter. If you have married the blonde, continue the main questline and in a certain mission more or less halfway through the main questline, choose to defend the Constellation headquarters. From there you have an open path to dating the brunette and even marrying her. You'll just have to follow the same tactic you used with the blonde, that is, do all the missions always accompanied by the brunette. Note 1: When you are already committed to one of them, pay attention to what she says after you sleep. SPOILER! The blonde is more boring, but she is also the one who likes sex the most! Note 2: There is a topic on Reedit that explains how to marry the blonde and the brunette. It's exploiting a weak point in the game. You don't need to do that. If you marry the blonde as quickly as possible, always do the missions with her and from a certain point in the main mission you will also be able to date and then marry the brunette. 7 - During the main questline, you will have to go to the Moon and then to the Earth. On the Moon, explore every corner and read and listen to every record you find. On Earth you must do exactly the same!!! Don't hurry. For me, this is the highlight of the game, the moment when you discover why the Earth is uninhabitable. 8 - When you do the Crimson Fleet questline, you will meet an annoying woman, who is second in the leadership chain. After you manage to join the Crimson Fleet, always use the dialogue option that can irritate her the most. You'll see some fun parts. 9 - Be very careful with mods! There are mods that can introduce bugs into the game (it happened to me). These dangerous mods are those that change the mechanics of the game (mods that change scripts). Mods that change textures or put NPCs naked or make them wear sexier space suits, are not a big problem. Next year, after the Creation Kit, Bethesda's tool for seeing the game inside and making mods comes out, it will be safer to use mods that change the game's mechanics. Note: There are some mods that change the look of the game's menus. They are safe mods and I recommend some of them. SFSE is also one of the main mods for this game and I recommend it! 10 - And this is the most important advice! Manually save the game frequently. The game does autosaves, but these generally disappear when you exit the game, leaving only the last autosave. If a bug happens in a savegame, it's a good idea to have a lot of manual savegames, so you don't have to go back too far in the game. Have fun! PS: Don't pay attention to those who hate this game. I intend to make another topic in which I will explain why is this happening with this game. Suffice it to say that many of those who hate this game are those who can't play it or who had to play it in a very short period of time. And at the root of this hatred is money, always money...

If there are animations for NPCs to swim underwater, why didn't Bethesda also make underwater swimming animations available for our main character? Is it because Bethesda doesn't want us to see that the underwater scenarios aren't complete or even made yet?

Exactly the same with me!

Which graphics card is the best for Skyrim
brown66 replied to surfwater401's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Sorry my English. It's no my native language. Skyrim it's a game with many drawcall, specially if full moded! From my own experience, I would stay away from any AMD processors that are below the 5000 series. The older Ryzen series have bad performance in heavy drawcall games. I made an upgrade in October(?), 2020, from a Ryzen 5 1600X to an i7-10700K and the difference in Skyrim (but not in desktop applications) was amazing! It was as I had upgrade my graphics card! That's show how Skyrim is very CPU depended game, specially in the one core performance. As for the graphics card... In 2006, when I started playing Skyrim LE, I was using a Radeon R9 280X graphics card, on an AMD FX-4130 computer (I think with 16GB of DDR3), to play the game at 4K! Ok, the frame rate in some areas here not much (around 25FPS), but I could play the game! Now, in 2022, I'm still playing Skyrim LE, but in VR, through Vorpx, on a Pimax 8KX headset, at the input resolution of 4260x2400 per eye. My graphics card? An MSI RTX 3090 Gaming X Trio. The other components from my setup? An i7-12700k, on an Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus Gaming D4 motherboard, with 32 GB of DDR4 3600Mhz CL16. My FPS? Around 25, per eye, in some areas... So, the conclusion is, at least to me, that it doesn't matter how powerful is your graphics card or your computer, because Skyrim will always find a way to knock down your computer! Oh! I almost forgot... If you are playing Skyrim LE, forget textures beyond 4K. And if you put too many 4K textures in your Skyrim LE game, the game will run out of memory and you will get a CTD, because this game is a 32 bit application. If you want to try 4X and 8K textures, you better use Skyrim SE (a 64bit game) and get a graphics card with a lot of VRAM (at least 6 to 8 Gb to play a 1080p, 11 to 12Gb to play at 1444p and above 16Gb to play at 4K). There is a video on YouTube where a guy shows how to almost fully fill the 24GB of VRAM from an RTX 3090 with the Skyrim SE... -
Sorry my English. It's not my native language. Today, someone realese a mod and in its descrition it said that it's to correct Bethesda's incompetence. It's an animation mod and it prevents the suposed bug that slows down the main character when sheathing a sword. Is it really Bethesda's incompetence or is it Bethesda's obsessive quest for ultra realism, which I salute, and some people don't realize it? As far as I know, whenever someone goes on a run or walks and wants to sheath a sword, they have to slow down a bit to do it. Sorry to bring this subject here, but it makes an impression on me that so many people create mods with the argument that what was done by Bethesda was wrong, when I later, after I check the mod, I see it's not exactly better (sometimes is even worse ...), but simply... different! Personally, I see this happening a lot with textures and now with animations. The new textures presented are many times eye candy, a lot of people like them, but... those of the original game, despite the limitations imposed by compression because of graphics cards with little VRAM, are still the most realistic. Some of the new animations may be also eye candy to some players, but, to me, they looked a lot like the animations of some Japonese console games, like the fight animations full of jumps and pirouettes, but far from realistic animations. This doesn't mean that modders can't present their mods of something in Skyrim, quite the contrary!, and many people enjoyed it, but at least, in my opinion, it's not necessary to belittle the work of those who made this game in 2011, which at the time was very good (and I think it still very good!). Just my opinion... :ermm:

Sorry for my English. It is not my native language. Despite playing and using mods in Skyrim for several years now, I am not the expert who can help you a lot. However, I agree that your problem really is due to the fact that the game cannot find the textures and mesh, possibly because they were erased, the path is wrong (this seems to me to be the most likely cause) or because some ESP of some mod is indicating a different path for them than it would be the normal one. It seems to me that you are moding Skrym manually. Experts say it is the best way to control everything, but it is also the best way for a small mistake to ruin everything. I strongly advise you to make a list of the mods you plan to use, install Skyrim again and then install Mod Organizer 2. Then install your mods with this mod manager and you will find that many problems with installing and managing mods will be minimized. There are several Gopher videos on YouTube that show you how to use the Mod Organizer. One of the advantages of Mod Organizer is that it already has Loot built in, making it easier to install and uninstall mods.

Usually, doens't matters if you collect everything and kill everyone or if you just kill the boss and collect his chest. However, as my main caracther is a miser, he collects everything and kill all enemies to also collects their bellowings, to sell all of then later. Jokes aside, I am of the opinion that killing only the boss and collecting only his ches, makes the missions very quick and easily boring. Also, I installed the mod Deadly Wenches (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60625), which makes it impossible to ignore enemies, either because of their beauty or their lethality. And don't forget that in the other boxes and chests there are sometimes necklaces, rings, armor and enchanted weapons that can be very useful to your main character or to the followers.

Depends on the resolution, a thing you forgot to mention. Any way, I would recommend a processor not below an old Ryzen 5 1600X or an old i7 4790k, with at least 8G of RAM (I strong suggest 16Gb). If you plan to play at 1080p, an old GTX 980Ti, an GTX 1070 or the new GTX 1660Ti, always with 6Gb of VRAM, it's enough. However, if you plan to play at 4K, I would suggest at least one GTX 1080Ti or any equivalent card with more than 6Gb of VRAM. My Skyrim has some things (dragons, NPCs, body skins, armors, etc) with 4K textures, but the rest are the original textures and I found that, at 4K resolution, the game usually go beyond the use of 7Gb of VRAM. At the top of the stairs that lead to Dragonsearch, if my main character (in first person view) looks to the mountains to the left, as soon as the head of the Talos statue disappears in the lower left corner of the monitor, with a GTX 1080Ti at 4K resolution, my computor, a Ryzen 5 1600X with 16Gb of RAM, makes about 44-45FPS. I think that's one of the more demanding scene of Skyrim.
