  1. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. SuperF4 saved my butt today. A greifer was about to bash my brains in witha Supersledge and it made my character disappear before his eyes! Great program.
  2. More than once I've had to fiddle with the keyboard trying to get out of a server while a Scorchbeast is eating my head or 50 Mutants are converging or a griefer has me cornered... Is there a way to make an item that can go on the weapon wheel which will just fast track me out. You know Esc, Z, quit in an orderly fashion so I don't lose my stash but get out before I'm dead. Maybe you have to click it twice to prevent accidental execution. I know I could maybe make a key macro but it would be better as a mod. Thanks, Zardoz_Ix
  3. Fallout 4 VR has been released. What can we expect in terms of mods? Will any wok? Are there new mods on the way? This is the kicker for me to go over to Vive. I've been waiting for the right excuse to drop this much money and I'm ready!
  4. I screwed up while in survival mode and removed some of the road in Sanctuary. After a while I couldn't stand it and decided to og back to an earlier save and redo stuff. Only to find there were only 3 saves in survival mode! DUH! I tried concrete floors but the look like shite. Is there any way I can restore the piece of roadway I wiped out? I have other games running so I can maybe find the code number for the section or something. Console mode? Any ideas out there?
  5. Personally I don't use the ingame mod manager and just continue using Nexus. I looked at it once and it crashed on the way out and I have enough problems with NMM crashing that I don't need more. (Just a little poke guys, don't take it seriously.) But it's either Bethesda trying to make the mod situation more user friendly for those not savy in the ways of wizards or Bethesda has made a sideways move to press out the Nexus community and wants to take over the Whole Shebang. I don't know why anyone would wish themselves so much pain but there it is. I choose to believe that Bethesda saw this as a feature and not a bug. But it's not easy adding bells and whistles when they sound like a Death knell... I say keep up the good work Bethesda and keep trying to make things better. BTW, fixing the mod list / CTD situation is like the Chinese proverb : "A journey of Ten Thousand miles begins with the first step..."
  6. I posted some information in this post: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4062445-load-order-crash/
  7. Yeah, I updated DEF_UI and it seems to be working ok now. I'm still having that "all mods disabled" type of startup whenever I install something new. I have to go back and disable an old mod then enable it right away and suddenly eveything loads ok. But all my stuff is working now so I'm keeping my horse shoe the right way up and sitting very still everytime I load the game.
  8. I've had some serious problems. The game wouldn't start, just a black screen while loading then desktop. I finally ended up disabling all my mods and started over by enabling them 5 at a time staring with CBBE.The most important ones I checked to see if there was a updated version. I would then start the game to check for CTD. I also thinned out my mods and removed the ones I no longer use. I found that DEF-UI was giving me heartache and had to remove and reinstall without the HUD part otherwise, I would CTD every time. Another thing I noticed was that I would start the game and suddenly receive a message that the game was starting without a bunch of mods, as though I had disabled them in the load list. The only way out was to quit immediately and go back, disable, and enable a random mod. I used one that changes Cait. After I disabled and enabled a mod the game would start normally. This surprisingly seemed to happen after installing a new mod, even though the new mod seemed to install without problems. It may have something to do with the load list disappearing until you cycle a mod. Remember to export the load list occasionally when you get the game to load. This has taken me several nights of work but I think I'm there. Unfortunately, I went into FO4 mods menu and the game crashed on the way out. Good luck to everybody out there having load problems. BTW, I lost two guns, an M9 .38 cal and a 1911 .45 cal. I only found them after going back to an earlier save from before the update. Weird considering all the gun mods were in place and my other modded guns showed up.
  9. Try this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12811/?

  12. Anybody else having problems with the load order? After the new version of FO4 mine just CTD nonstop. I tried evey thing I could think of but finally ended up disabling every single mod just to get the game to start. I am now in the process of starting the mods one by one (five at a time) to see what works and eliminating the ones I no longer find attractive or useful. Any tips as to what definately will crash or what is unnecessary with the new version? Picked up that SSEX and Settlement keywords isn't needed. Any others that you might know about?
  13. I've seen that title but thought it was some kind of "You talking to ME!" type of mod. After reading the description it seems like a very top heavy mod with quite a few caveats including: "This MOD Requires Game Version not higher than 1.4.132" It seems to be primarily for naming settlers and seems to have its share of problems. I try to avoid complex mods but will try it to see what happens. I'm an old system manager and the more code you write, the more problems you come across. Thanks for the tip but my request stands. I mean there must be a better, more dedicated mod for what I'm describing.
  14. I've b!tched before about how if I wanted to play SIM City, I would have BOUGHT Sim City! These settlers are a pain in the backside and only waste my time. I set up a nice place for them and even plant Food and they stand around starving to Death while the weeds grow. The point is I don't have time to run around assigning People to menial tasks when I'm out hunting Deathclaws. How about a Micro Manager mod that will grant settlers a random task according to the number of people in the settlement with Food tending the prioritized assignment. That way I don't have to go up to each NPC and ask "Have you got something to do?" , metaphorically speaking. Then I can reassign someone if I have a special job for them, like Supply Train. Btw, this is important to be able to reassign them to the supply train otherwise we'll never get them connected. Another HareBrained Idea from ZardozIX! You heard it here first, folks. Just jump on the band wagon.... Cheers, Z-dIX
  15. First time through FO4 I stumbled around and have the feeling I missed a number of quests. Including all of BOS and the Institute. I followed someone's advice to get in the Institute then kill anyone before doing any quest, leave with all hell on my tail and continue with the Minutemen. This resulted in a peaceful settlement for all parties with the destruction of the Institute. Unfortunately everything is boring now! So I've decided to start anew. But I don't want to make that same mistake, rather let loose the dogs of war! I stumbled across the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide on Amazon and bought it for tips and hints. http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-Dwellers-Survival-Collectors-Edition/dp/0744016312 It's full of information including all the quests. My question is does anyone else have that book and would it be a good idea to follow the quest progression as layed out in the book? They may just be presenting them in a random fashion. Any suggestions as to quest order so I get the full Fallout experience? I've had all the other Fallout version and fully expect to spend months on this one.
