I'm a stealth archer. One shot, one kill, and they never knew what hit them. Love it.

Oh, dear, why oh why have I been cursed/blessed with such a filthy, gutter mind... Anyway, I've got the quickfire and I haven't seen this problem. -
Creation Kit release info and patch fix

Good grief, you chicken littles are getting on my nerves. There has been no direct claim of steam charging for player-made mods that I've seen, and in fact, quite the contrary. Steam workshop will be a change for the way that you can get new mods. It will, at least seemingly, NOT charge you for any of them. Even IF they start charging for mods, big whoop. Skyrim Nexus will always be here for free user content, and as long as there are people who want free content, as mods have ALWAYS been, there will ALWAYS be suppliers. Big woop, indeed. What has the marketplace shown us over the last few years? Its shown us that given a clear choice, millions of people will choose to go with a platform (consoles)in which they have zero control over their gaming experience, and theyre happy with it. They choose to pay for whatever meager scraps the company wishes to sell them, knowing full well that there is another platform available where they will have much more content, control over their platform, and that it will be free. This is what the gaming industry has observed and this is why the pc gaming experience as we've known it is being slowly phased out of existence. They know that they can do it, and most people will happily go along with it. As far as Nexus always being here offering free mods, forget about it. Its days are numbered. Eventually down the line they will announce that henceforth modded content can only be released through them, with their approval, and since its based on their game, it all belongs to them. If you doubt that for one minute, well, a few years from now, try to remember I told you so:-) -

This Steamworks crap is just the next step in making pc gaming indistinguishable from console gaming. All the freedom that pc gamers have had over the years, compared to console gamers, is slowly being eroded. They want total control for the simple reason that it allows them to make more money. Nothing evil about it, its just plain old capitalism, whatever the market will bear, and there seems to be no limit to what the market will put up with. -
Aww, darnit, even my man Snapwave is having trouble with that patch. Maybe one of you guys can go to his youtube channel and give him some advice.

I want a hang glider! Lots of tempting places to jump off of and go gliding. So ok then, hurry up and start making the mod.

Good Lord, what a pain in the butt! I just alt-tabbed out of Rannveig's Fast so I can vent. "This isn't what I want! I have no choice! I'm sorry!" Over and over and over again, like every 10 seconds. What where they thinking when they made this place, they must have been smoking crack with the patch development team. "Hey, I have an idea, lets drive players insane with ghosts that keep apologizing loudly and constantly as they whack you on the head with giant swords!" Well time to turn the volume off and dive back in.

Theres allot of heated discussion here about Steam. Many think its diabolical, others see it as a great service. The intention of this thread isn't to debate that, there's enough of that already and frankly, I find it boring. Please don't respond with comments about how people who love/hate Steam are stupid and retarded. I'd be interested in approaching the controversy from a less emotional and more business like angle. Imagine that you're attending a board meeting at a major game publisher, and they're debating whether or not they should tie their upcoming release to Steam. They ask these questions. 1. Seeing as how there are clearly so many people with strong feelings against Steam, does tying a game to Steam help or hurt a game publisher? 2. What benefits does a game publisher get out of its association with Steam? 3. Are there alternatives to Steam available to publishers that are less controversial, but allow them to derive the same benefits? If so, what are they? 4. Or, is Steam, or something like Steam, necessary in todays marketplace? If so, why?

"I'll gourd you with the basis!"

In my current game I'm a male Imperial and I heard it most recently while fighting bandits in Lost Knife Cave with Golldir as a companion. -

I hear it all the time. Its part of the regular rotation, I hear it most often in melee combat along with, "I'll rip your heart out!". Makes me chuckle every time I hear it. I play with headphones on so I'm surprised I can't make out whats actually being said. Another one that had me going for awhile was "I can't wait to count out your coin." For a long time I thought they were saying, "I can't wait to count out your corn." Must be bad hearing and crappy headphones. But if anyone knows which one I mean, and whats being said, let me know, its starting to drive me a little crazy! -
One of the frequent NPC combat comments. Anybody know what they're actually saying?

One thing I find annoying is when I sneak up on a group of people, aiming with my bow from a distance away, I get no information on who or what they are. Most of the time they're legitimate targets, but still I'd like to know for sure who or what Im going to shoot at.

Skyrim isn't dumbed down. Purists are.

I've been hopping around Nexus for a few years, from game to game, and I don't know if its my imagination or not, but there seems to be a level of hostility and unfriendliness among the Skyrim crowd that I haven't encountered before. Of course every game has its core of negative, antisocial guys who consider themselves the 'elite' and think everyone else is beneath contempt. Just seems more prevalent here. -
Start a new game and complete it (main storyline) without ever wearing anything but underwear, and wielding one iron dagger. You can improve the dagger with smithing. No magic, no potions, no enchantments of any kind. Only food and drink are allowed. edit: Oh, and you can make use of towns but can't purchase any homes.

I was starting to get bored, but it was because I was focusing on the quests. In my current game I'm just exploring and not being an errand boy. Now its fun again.

Can't get into Skyrim... my reasons why.
BleedingCrown replied to Twinturbo4486's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You're making a mistake comparing Skyrim to other games, and depriving yourself of a good time. Sure Skyrim has the same backstory as Oblivion, but its a whole new game, not Oblivion 2, or Morrowind 3. The meat and potatoes of Skyrim is its amazing, incredibly rich world, and how your character explores it and interacts with it. I can't think of another game that delivers that kind of experience as well as Skyrim does. I'm glad its not like Call of Duty, the same game released every year with a few minor changes, blech. If it was I wouldn't go anywhere near it. Instead of complaining that Skyrim is different, you should be glad that it is. -
Its mystifying to me how they don't realize that Steam only serves to drive more people to pirate versions.

Because its a woman they have complete control over, even down to what sort of underwear she has on. She says, does, wears, 'thinks' whatever they want her to.
