  1. When I add a mod I do see it show up in the MODS folder. I also doubt that any mod with a date before Aug 2017 is problematical at best. For example, Trainer Plus 25 which is dated from 2016 does not show up in the MODS folder when activated and will crash the game, guaranteed. So that one is not available to me. One that does not crash the game is called "Better Ship Seat", however I see no difference to the cockpit whether this mod is running or not so there is no point in it. And just because the mod shows up in the MODS folder does not mean it will run okay. Any mod that does not specifically say it is compatible to 1.3 Atlas Rising I will avoid.
  2. I have removed the no mods text file and I have created the MODS folder in PCBANKS. I have tried half a dozen mods that all say they are compatible with the 1.3 Atlas Rising update earlier this month. Even if I load just one mod I will get one of two results. Either nothing at all seems to change in gameplay or it crashes to the desktop during the white screen game startup window. Since there are 400 mods for the game it must be doable. What am I doing wrong?
  3. Thanks, now I have a couple more questions. The showinventory scrolls off the screen, is there a way to have it stop and give me a screenful at a time? I sold Aurial's Bow to the weapon store in Whiterun and they don't have it now, so will it still be in my inventory? What if I use the console command to bring it back and then remove it? What does the setstage command do? Does it just reset this one quest?
  4. Early on i used a console command to get Aurial's bow because it was a good bow. But now I have the quest to go get it and it will not start, even though it is on my quest list. Selling the bow does not help. When I click the quest and go to the map, I get no indication of where to go to start the quest. The white elf told me to kill his brother and the quest log say that the bow is located there. How do I tell the game that I want to do the quest? What would be the console command?
  5. My character is level 48 so you know that he has been in a few dungeons and I have never had a problem with any of them, until now. I am in the Dwemer dungeon Fahlbtharz on Solstheim. I am on the top level and can see a ledge in front of me and I have to ride two large gears to get there. The first gear is no problem, I can ride it forever or until I get dizzy. The second gear has a Dwemer critter climb out the middle of the gear, as soon as it is attacked my game freezes. No keyboard command works and my mouse is frozen. It makes no difference who attacks it, me, Serana or any of the rest of my small army. I have encountered Dwemer combatants on other gears in this dungeon and fought them with no problem. My Windows 10 Task Manager is no help because it appears behind the game, my only option is to restart. This is repeatable because I have tried six different ways to get past it and the game freezes every time. I would prefer not to back track all the way out of the dungeon and leave it unfinished but that is what I will have to do unless someone here has a solution. The solution can either be a way to fight or a console command that avoids the fight.
  6. I got that email too and they also fixed a problem for me. I had been unable to access the game, it would crash as soon as i loaded it. Now it will play and I will come back after i finish Skyrim SE.
  7. Yes, it is checked on the Nexus mod tab and on the plugins tab. I have moved it from the end of the load order, middle of the load order and now it is the first mod loaded. Nothing makes a difference. I even tried to install it manually into the data folder, didn't help.
  8. If you have 64 bit Windows your RAM limit is increased to 16G. I have four 4G sticks in mine and Windows sees it all.
  9. My wife and I both have Windows 10 computers and she is also playing Skyrim SE on her computer about six feet away from me. She was able to add the Console Books collection using Nexus with no problem, I can't. I have tried using Nexus and doing it manually and neither have worked. Does it have to be in a particular spot in the load order?
  10. I am finding myself unable to perform various optional activities. My first problem was unlocking the stable door in Payback. i had loaded a mod that gave more rune slots on relic weapons and armor. The home page did warn it might corrupt save games so I did back up. I played with that mod for a couple of weeks with no problem. Then in Payback I picked up the key to the door but it had no effect. I disabled the mod and restored from a backup and I was able to open the door to complete that quest. Now I am in the Great Escape and have the same problem. I am in the elven ruins and have found the lever to open the door, when I take it back to where I need it, nothing happens. Same problem I had with the stable door key. The game does not recognize that I have the lever and still tells me to go find it. I even went to YouTube and played a video showing me where the lever is (plus I have found it the last time I played the game). The YouTube video took me to the same place that I had found it. Good thing this is not my first time through the game and I am wondering how many other voluntary tasks will be impossible to do. Time to put this back on the shelf and take a look at Skyrim Special Edition, play that game again. Too bad, i was having fun.
  11. No I did not, what I had was 0.63.1. When I checked i found that Skyrim SE support was added in 0.63.2. The current release is 0.63.5. Once I upgraded to that I was able to add SE to Nexus. Thanks for the hint. :)
  12. The game is installed and is playable but when I tell Nexus to rescan my computer for new games it does not see it. Any idea what the problem is? I can even download mods from Steam successfully using the mod button on the start screen.
  13. I did not get GOTY because i already have all the DLCs and there was no gain for me. My version of Witcher is 1.31. On reading the many threads here about problems with GOTY I am glad I didn't get it.
  14. Update, I found my problem in Payback. I decided to skip Payback and come back later. So I went to my next quest and discovered that I was unable to draw a sword, either one. Do you have any idea how hard it is to beat a Wyvern when all you can do is punch it and use signs? :) Then I remembered that I had loaded a mod that gives some relic weapons and armor five rune slots. On the home page of that mod I remembered that there was a comment that the mod might corrupt game saves. I disabled the mod and started loading older game saves until I could draw my weapons again. Fortunately i only had to go back about six quests and replay them. Played through to Payback again and all worked like it should.
  15. I have found that slots, slots, slots causes problems with a lot of mods. Many interesting mods will conflict with slots so i can't use them. I like slots so I choose to use it and skip the incompatible ones. Slots allows you to activate every ability, not just a few. And it gives you access to all of Dr. Moreau's Mutagen tree at the same time. You can activate every branch, not just one.
