Hey all, my screenshot function isn't working for some reason so I can't get screencaps yet, but I've been poking around in the game files like you guys asked and will do more tomorrow as well. Maybe I can help figure out what's causing the bugs
-
This is so great to hear! I wish I could've done more to help, I feel like I floundered around in the CK more than anything haha. But seriously, this is amazing work from shadowslasher, sigrid, and bettecorvega. You guys are awesome! I promise I will upload some pics. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a certain toaster whose metal heart I must make mine...
-
Hey guys, sorry I've been gone all this time! I've just started a new job, so I've had limited time to be online, but I'm willing to help with whatever needs done. Do you guys still want me to test the new files?
-
What do you mean by 'one option for each'?Sorry, I mean that instead of nick saying different responses at random he only says the same one. Example, in the relationship question the only response I got was "thank goodness I found you" The "your thoughts" responses are all showing up tho
-
I just finished the last part of Nick's Affinity quest and am now officially romancing him. It's working pretty well, only thing I noticed (besides the same lip file issue) is that the Relationship? responses and the Lover's Embrace dialogue are only using one option for each. At least as far as I've discovered.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! I'll retest everything once you do, and if there's still issues I'll keep looking for a solution on some of the old forums

I'll give that a shot when I get home tomorrow morning. It's worth redoing all the fuz files to make sure they're all up to date with the latest files. Pretty sure haha. Besides, it seems like a fair number of people besides just me want to romance him as well. I figure there should be an option for it - those interested get the choice to romance nick, and those not interested can just ignore the mod. It works out for everyone I figure. Same with deacon - I personally don't see any romantic appeal about him but a lot of people seem to wish he was a romance option, so I feel like that choice should be there for them. Makes the whole game more fun for everyone :)

Splitting them further might be worth a try if you're willing to do it. I don't really have any other ideas ar the moment so it's worth a shot, you never know! I never did figure out how to generate lip files though so if someone can do that for the new dialogue splits that would be nice. Let me know if there's anything I can do, I'm more than happy to help however I can!

Hmm, it's still a bit off - lip syncing is really slow and stuff like that. I'm not sure how to fix it though =/ I'm going to keep looking online for solutions - maybe people were having similar issues with skyrim?

I'm looking into it too, using old Skyrim tutorials. I'm going to try something I found online that might solve it - I'll let you guys know if it works! EDIT: Try editing your custom ini for FO4 like they say in this link: https://community.bethesda.net/thread/11615?start=0&tstart=0 I'm going to try it and see if it works UPDATE: Audio is working! At least for the first flirt option, I'm using console commands to raise his affinity for the other convos now. Lip syncing is still largely absent, although my fem player moved her lips a little bit (it was kinda slow and off sync but whatevs). I'm so excited! EDIT 2: Gonna try out Sigrid's fuz files, some tutorials I found online say that that might help. UPDATE 2: I think I *might* have found a way to get it to work. Sigrid, your fuz files seem to be working when I rename them to match the form id's from shadowslasher's files. The few I've done so far are now working, complete with lip animations. I'm going to try them all out. UPDATE 3: I renamed all Sigrid's files to match shadowslasher's - I will post a download link to all the fuz files put together in case anyone wants to take a look at them. All the audio is still there (at least for the first 2 convos, haven't finished the eddie winter quest yet), and the lip syncing's a bit better but it's still a little bit wonky. Lip syncing is good for the first part of each piece of dialogue, and then it either slows down to a mismatched pace, or it stops altogether. I'm not sure, but I think it might be because Sigrid's and shadowslasher's files don't match exactly in certain places - some of them cut off in different spots for example. It seems like sigrid and shadowslasher have slightly different versions of BetteCorvega's dialogue. But I think the general solution to getting the lip files to work is compiling everything into fuz files and making sure it has the right form id for its file name.

I have tested the mod so far, and the scripting works well so far - dialogue options are appearing in the menu no problem, as a speech check, and you get exp if you pass it just like you would in vanilla. Also, I love Nick's facial animations - the "shocked" face he made when I did the first flirt was priceless. Lips aren't moving and audio isn't appearing, but I'm gonna mess around with it a bit and see if I can get it to work - I probably just installed it incorrectly haha
-
Omg thank you, I was just starting to work on generating them myself, but it looks like you beat me to it haha.
-
I don't mind at all, you and Bette did most of the work! Speaking of which, are you planning to upload it to like the official Bethesda mods as well as nexus? I know a lot of console users who want to date the toaster. Also would you be willing to send me the esp file for it? Im desperate to try it out even though it isn't quite finished yet Ahaha, sure. Needs to be alpha tested before release anyway, and I just started a new game so I don't have the save game for it. Just don't decline the romance the first time; until the repeater scene is put in place, not sure what that would do to the romance... probably break it. Lemme just gather up all the assets and I'll post a link. EDIT: Can you generate LIP files? Since you're testing it and all, if you can I would appreciate it. The files needing LIP files are in a separate folder, in Sound/Voice/NickValentineRomance.esp/ And then a folder with the actor that says them. Once you have the LIP files just pop 'em in the correct folders and you should be good. Note that if you don't have LIP files, the audio and/or dialog may go by too quickly. EDIT2: As for uploading it on Bethesda.net I'd have to ask SigridStorrada and BetteCorvega (I'm assuming you're okay with it, since you're asking), but if they're fine with it, I'm game as well. I think I have the software for LIP files, yeah. I'll give it a shot when you upload it!

Well, at least for me, I don't want this to be just a one-and-done type thing. My pipe dream is to expand this into a full-fledged romance, along the lines of Baldur's Gate romances or something - okay, maybe not that extensive, but much more in-depth, and with quests and such (though it would have to be unvoiced in certain sections, but oh well... I miss my unvoiced protagonist anyway :) ). Obviously, there's no commitment for this - none of you have to do this by any means, and I don't even know if it will pan out, anyway, but that's my dream... Anyway, when I get the lines for the Infatuation Repeater Scene, I'll post the ESP on my Google Drive and give you all a link to it (and some files I need LIPs for because I had to split them up/alter them slightly because of the dialog character limit and stuff). I've been turning it over in my head to add deacon to the list of romanceable characters. I'm not personally looking to romance him but it seems like a fair amount of people really wanted him to be an option
