  1. You'll have to go to the folder looking button in NMM, click something like "open NMM install folder" from the drop down list, and delete everything in the folder it opens. Upon relaunching NMM, a pop-up should appear for each mod saying that they've been moved or deleted, and clicking "No" to that pop-up would further uninstall whatever was left. You'll have to click "No" for every single mod that was there, but it will delete everything in your NMM. Still takes a bit of time, especially with hundreds of mods, but it will be much faster and take significantly less time than doing each one individually in NMM. EDIT: This is assuming you have a clean install of Fallout 4, or want a clean install to start over with your mods. Otherwise, without reinstalling Fallout 4, you'll have to uninstall each mod individually (because otherwise some may remain in the Data folder).
  2. Here are the possibilities as I see them: You did not install f4se properly. Re-download, extract, and re-install it, following the read me, described here: Copy f4se_1_10_120.dll, f4se_loader.exe, and f4se_steam_loader.dll to your Fallout installation folder. Copy the Data folder over as well. You did not install f4se at all. You can find it here https://f4se.silverlock.org/ You may have renamed f4se_loader.exe to something else... Some people rename it to the fallout4launcher to launch through steam, but that means NMM won't find it as 'f4se_loader.exe'Lastly, the script extender for skyrim is NOT the same as the one for Fallout 4. I'm hoping you realize that, but from your initial post, it's difficult for me to determine.
  3. While it's good that you see Fallout4Custom.ini, make sure you add the edits I described in my first response. If they are already there, then good, you're set. But if not, you need to add them.
  4. A "readme.txt" should be included in the F4SE download, it'll tell you exactly what to place and where, but for your convenience I will copy + paste the directions: [ Installation ] 1. Copy f4se_1_10_120, f4se_loader.exe, and f4se_steam_loader.dll to your Fallout installation folder. This is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\, but if you have installed to a custom Steam library then you will need to find this folder yourself. Copy the Data folder over as well. 2. Launch the game by running the copy of f4se_loader.exe that you placed in the Fallout installation folder. Take careful note of Step 2 as it is important. You may want to create a shortcut for f4se_loader.exe and put it on your desktop for convenience, as you'll have to launch the game using it.(to make a shortcut, right click f4se_loader.exe, and in the pop-up menu click "create shortcut") P.S. - It is also sometimes a good idea to ensure that f4se_loader.exe is set to launch with administrator priveleges. To do this, right click on it and select "Properties". A screen should pop-up with numerous tabs, but the "Compatibility" tab is where you want to go. Once there, make sure that the box that says "Run this program as an administrator" is checked. Then press apply, and then OK.
  5. LooksMenu requires the script extender, F4SE. Be sure to download and install it. Also, do the following: How to enable modding Navigate to your Fallout 4 Folder at the following location "Documents\My Games\Fallout4" Within this folder you'll find a number of .ini files. Open (or create, if missing) Fallout4Custom.ini with your favourite text editor (we use Notepad++). Add the following lines to your Fallout4Custom.ini [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= Save and close Fallout4Custom.iniThat's it, you're ready to get modding!
  6. Well, I guess I figured it out. Had to go to the folder button in NMM, click something like "open NMM install folder" from the drop down list, and delete everything in it. Upon relaunching NMM, a pop-up would appear for each mod saying that they've been moved or deleted, and clicking "No" to that pop-up would further uninstall whatever was left. I had to go through 190 pop-ups and click "No" all 190 times, but now I have a fresh start with my mods. Thanks to 1ae0bfb8 for trying to help, but it seems this issue was resolved. May not have been the best solution, but it worked.
  7. Well, I would do just that if I knew how, but so far, creating a new profile still maintains all the mods in the list. Not sure how to create one that ignores what's listed.
  8. Hey folks, I was wondering if there is a quick and easy way to disable and uninstall all mods for ONLY Fallout 4 in the Nexus Mod Manager? I uninstalled Fallout 4 a few months back, but my Nexus Mod Manager still has all the mods, and in the mods tab, each mod still has a green check mark next to it. However, they aren't actually installed considering nothing but the base game and DLCs are in the plugins list... I want to start fresh, and start over with new mods, but all the old ones are taking a while to delete. So far, I've been having to go one by one, right clicking them and choosing to uninstall and delete. However, it's been taking a while since I have well over a hundred mods in there. I've tried selecting multiple mods at once, and have tried CTRL+A, but NMM doesn't seem to give the option to disable/delete/uninstall everything / multiple files at once. Is there a way to make all the mods go away, so I can start fresh, without disrupting the other games I use NMM for? Or do I have to go through them one by one?
  9. I think it looks pretty cool anyway, even if it looks mostly black, it's still neat, so thanks!
  10. Hello, I'm wondering if it'd be possible to take this image: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/3b/90/1e/3b901e8be2425248ae4bb4330c7c2d00.jpg And make it into an eye texture? It's the observable universe squeezed into one image, with our solar system at the center, and I know it sounds weird, but I want my character to have it as their eyes. I think it'd be cool if it can be pulled off properly. Is it possible? I know it might look weird, but I don't mind, and if you need a smaller or bigger image, there are plenty of different sizes if you google search the image. If anyone thinks they can make it happen, please do!
  11. I had a similar problem but with Skyrim bodies. The problem was a conflict between the body and the texture used, as some people have already pointed out. A possible fix is reinstalling CBBE, overwriting everything. Also, if you have Valkyr's body texture - it is NOT compatible with CBBE, and you should uninstall it. You may just want to uninstall all bodies/textures and reinstall only CBBE and see if that helps. Sometimes you just gotta start over. Also, it is pretty important you let it overwrite things. If you say "no to all" it's possible that is causing something to go wrong. Not 100% sure if that's your problem but it is worth mentioning. jones177 also mentioned checking your inis which is a good idea. Make sure your inis are still setup for Fallout 4 modding. How to enable modding Navigate to your Fallout 4 Folder at the following location "Documents/My Games/Fallout 4" Within this folder you'll find a number of .ini files. 12. +1 Yeah, you have to launch the game normally at least once before jumping into modding. Make sure you do so, and come back if you still have issues after trying that.
  13. Have you done the necessary ini tweaks needed for modding? 14. For anyone who is curious, downloading lower-end texture packs and config settings seems to have made my crashes stop. I still lag here and there with the occasional hang up, but I don't crash. Mods like insignificant object remover have also been applied and the game seems to be running much more smoothly. The visuals have been impacted a bit, but until I can afford a new graphics card, it'll do. Thanks JimmyRJump for the help as well as everyone else who left a comment.
  15. Right now I have everything on low, I'm not sure if I can do much else with the settings. I'll take a look though and see if anything else can be toned down. Perhaps I should seek out mods that are meant to downgrade graphics a bit for the sake of performance, anyone know of any?
  16. @JimmyRJump- Wowza, 12000 hours? I think that's more than I have between all of the games I've played haha, at least on Steam. Personally I have 630 hours in Fallout 4, which is still quite a bit, and there has always been the occasional crash, but it's never been this bad. I can't help but think the Creation Club update broke something, or at least made things less stable so that my PC has trouble running it now. I also have Skyrim (both oldrim and special edition) and while oldrim has its moments with crashes, special edition plays much smoother and rarely crashes for me. When it does, it's like you say, it's usually due to mods and is either user error, a load order issue, and/or mod conflict, and the culprit can be found and the problem can be fixed after some tinkering and trial and error. Fallout 4 on the other hand... It seems super unstable for a lot of users from the get-go, not just people like me with possible hardware difficulties. I can understand growing out of it, it certainly isn't a game for everyone (especially fans of the series who wanted more RPG elements) and there's only so much content. Mods can extend the life but then you risk making the game less stable. It was fun while it lasted, but I guess I simply can't play it until I upgrade or otherwise change my rig. Wish I knew what the exact problem was though, it'd be a shame to upgrade my card only to find it wasn't the issue.
  17. Unfortunately, the ENBoost didn't do the trick. Neither did cleaning out all the dust out of my rig and its fans. :/ It could still be a overheating problem I guess? Not sure how though, my fans are clean and they work fine, but most importantly, I don't have this problem with any other game, just Fallout 4. Even games like Witcher 3 that seem more demanding graphically are fine. Maybe Bethesda is just crappy at optimization or something, but then again, so are the devs of ARK, and I can run that game without crashing as well. Not sure why every other game is fine and Fallout 4 just craps out all the time. Guess I'll have to consider getting a new graphics card. It's something I've been meaning to do anyway, but it's still a bummer. Honestly I'm so fed up with Bethesda at this point. I know my hardware isn't their problem, but it IS within the minimum requirements, and it shouldn't be this much trouble just to make a game function properly, especially one that initially cost $60. Tack that onto the fact that Creation Club is a thing despite 99% of their community thinking it's BS and this may very well be my last Bethesda purchase. A company that doesn't care about their fanbase or the community that makes their games way better is a company that deserves to crash and burn. Honestly a Bethesda game without mods? Bogus, boring, bologna. I like settlement building as a creative outlet / time killer but I didn't even want that function in a Fallout game to begin with. If a new graphics card doesn't do the trick, then good riddance, this game is beyond frustrating to troubleshoot and the crashes after every fix I've tried is absolute BS. Makes me wanna grab a torch and pitchfork, gather the villagers, and riot our way to Bethesda studios. Obviously I'm kidding but it literally pains me that nothing has worked.
  18. Alright, thanks for your help. I'll be sure to try out the ENBoost and will get back to you with the results. Also might open my rig and make sure dust isn't a problem with the fan.
  19. Hey JimmyRJump, thanks for the reply. I just checked the device manager and all it says is "AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series"... I actually bought this rig off a friend so I asked him and he says it is indeed 7870 (not sure why the device manager doesn't specify). As for seeing whats at the bottom of the screen when I open computer, I already put all the information it says. It just lists the processor and RAM, which I had listed above (Processor: Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40 GHz / RAM: 16.0 GB) I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to hardware, but figured the card was at least decent enough. Do you think I should consider buying a newer model? I mean, the error that pops up when I CTD says the graphics failed and recovered, is that enough info to think that maybe my card is just crapping out and needs replacing? If that's the case, I know what to ask for from Santa this year, lol...
  20. I've tried uninstalling all of my mods as well as uninstalling the game, then reinstalling. That didn't do much, the game still would crash within a few minutes. What did seem to help was actually deleting all of my save games... I had like 2GB of save files and deleting all of them makes the game now run for about 10-15 minutes before crashing. The crashes usually say that my graphics card has failed but has successfully recovered. The graphics card I use is AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series and was fine for a while, it seems as though these problems started right around the time Creation Club was released (another reason to hate it). Also, my drivers are always kept up to date, but updating them with each release hasn't changed anything, and the crashes still happen. Other info about my specs below: Processor: Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40 GHz RAM: 16.0 GB I can provide any other information if necessary, just not sure what else you'd need... Is this a hardware problem, or is Fallout 4 really this bad? My money is on that it's a bit of both, but I don't know what to do. I just want to build settlements and murder raiders again.... My graphics card should be more than enough to run this game, right? I mean right now I'm running it on the lowest settings, but before, I used to be able to run it without problems on medium. EDIT / UPDATE: Ever since I deleted all my save files, the game no longer freezes my PC, and the audio loop no longer happens. It just crashes to desktop now, with the error I described above.
  21. Honestly not sure which mod could be the problem, but as a general suggestion, have you sorted your load order with LOOT? Sometimes doing just that works miracles, and can also point out certain issues with mods. Also, are you using F4SE and launching with it? You are using mods that require it so I certainly hope so.
  22. I experienced a similar problem and it was due to walking away from an NPC that was trying to converse with me, so it caused most/all dialogue to be bugged and inaccessible until I found the NPC that I walked away from and restarted/finished the dialogue. Note that it doesn't have to be leaving mid-conversation, it could happen with an NPC dialogue where they approach to talk and if you were running around or whatever you may have missed it. It's a bummer but the only thing that could be done (at least at the time I experienced my issue) was to go around and talk to anyone that came to mind that could have possibly caused the issue. Start with companions, then NPCs associated with current quests, and go from there. I am not 100% positive if this is your issue, but it sounds similar to what I experienced so hopefully this helps.
  23. If only it were that easy... Perhaps that'd be the case if I didn't have the Unlimited Companion Framework mod. This is a fix for anyone who uses that mod and/or has a companion that won't leave, regardless of the reason behind it. In the case of having multiple companions, hiring another doesn't cause anyone to leave, and in some cases, if the companion is bugged to all hell due to console commands (such as my case), this is a tried, tested, and true method to solve the issue, without any weird side effects that sometimes happens with console command use. It's a pretty safe way to force-dismiss otherwise bugged companions, even if you didn't initially recruit them in the way I described in my original post. On a note unrelated to you or your comment, I just wanna say I'm glad that the info I've provided has helped people. If anyone else in the future comes across this thread, and it helps them, feel free to leave me some kudos on my profile. It's not a big deal, but getting kudos is nice and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  24. I'm not 100% positive, but it's probably due to two texture mods affecting him (or in this case, the high res DLC + mod), so both are trying to work at the same time which causes this. If I had to guess which two are both working on Codsworth, it's probably the high res DLC and Fallout 4 HD reworked project revised, but I can't be positive since I personally don't use either. I just kinda glanced through the mod pages and that's my best guess. If I were you, I'd take the advice of JimmyRJump and just get rid of the high res DLC. Mods do a better job for not just quality but performance as well, and if this Codsworth texture glitch bothers you so much (though personally I think he looks kinda cool darker like that), and disabling the high res DLC fixes it, well then the answer is right there. Besides, most of your mods are probably overwriting certain parts of the high res DLC anyway, so it's not like there'd be much loss, especially when there are tons of texture mods out there that will give you the quality you want.
