  1. There seems to be movement to the use of linux growing rapidly. It is already possible to play steam games well in that environment. There doesn't seem to be a mod organizer in the linux world like MO 2 or Vortex. Can one play in that world with many mods? Is there a way to run either MO2 or Vortex in the linux arena? Regards
  2. Thanks showler! That was indeed the problem. It even happened when I downloaded WATM, the same issue. Thanks aagin
  3. I haven't looked at your list but I can say I had similar CTDs when nearing Quincy. Based on FO4 edit listing it turned out to be a conflict with RTV's Atom Cats Crib. So might be a similar situation in that are with another item. I really like RTV's homes but I had to remove all of them after changes made somewhere. Regards
  4. I have been using MO 2 for a long time and it has always been reliable. Recently I ran into a bothersome issue. Although there is a file in the download directory, MO 2 does not see it when I try to install. In this case the file is the main West Tek optics file and that is the only one the system does not see. I have no idea why this happens. Regards
  5. I was told previously that it is a bad idea to run both organizers for a specific game. When I tried using MO2 after Vortex was set up for SSE, MO2 showed all of the mods installed on the left side. But they were phantom entries that MO2 could not touch. All of the mods had to be moved/installed through the MO2 system. This caused duplicate folders and conflicts for both tools. So, best not to work in duplicate as the profile systems in each organizer work very well, so choose just one. You might be able to use the organizers for different games like: Vortex - SSE MO2 - FO4 That isn't such a great idea as problems of directory allocation could become confusing for you. :}
  6. Thanks for your reply. It looks like you are right. I had to reboot the PC and only use the browser. Everything looks normal now. Thanks again
  7. Is this the new Nexus? On every page the system immediately throws me to the bottom of the page, with a small ad window. Regardless of how long the page is, I can't see any of it without the trip to the bottom. The system used to add a small window in the lower right corner. but not change the location on the webpage. There isn't time to read, search or do anything, much less review mods. When I move to the top of the page, it immediatly sends me back to the bottom. The only place it doesn't happen is these forum pages. How can one accomplish anything on this Nexus site like that? I can't see spending much time here with that distraction and frustration.
  8. Thanks for your comments! I did need to add the text for the ini file and run the checker. That worked partially. The gyrojet showed up but not China Lake. That is fine for now as I would rather play than search. Thanks again...
  9. I am using a clean version of a basic vanilla set FO4 game but there is an issue that arises. Newer weapon mods like bows and rifles work fine and are visible. Older ones like China Lake and Crossbows are not visible. The weapons function normally but I don't see anything. What might cause this? I have about 30 mods that are mostly weapons, Sim Settlements, homes and crafting related. TIA
  10. This sounds like an excellent new addition and I am looking forward to it. Concerning fast travel, especially in survival mode, I have an installation of Thuggysmurf's: Subways of the Commonwealth - Standalone It provides actual subway stations with 'real' subway trains. It has become a standard in all of my games, regardless of mode. There are seven stations (Concord, DC, Cambridge, Malden, Goodneighbor, Jamaica P, and Castle) that have shops like a miniature Diamond City. I have found this a fun way to explore and skip the museum fiasco. There is also actual travel that is fast, like the Kettenkrraftrad, but actual travel, not virtual. Thanks a lot for the work you are doing on this and WARS.
  11. Another interesting one is The Moon Palace: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18971?tab=description It gives you a big palace on Far Harbor and a vessel, the Helena, to get there. The vessel is near the Castle and University.
  12. I'm sort of like 'robotized' and sort of not. I do use the APC also and for actual travel the Kettenkraftrad halftrack. I don't care about settlements at all, so Subways of the Commonwealth - Standalone is in every game I play. It is available at the start and easily usable. Thuggysmurf has created 7 actual subway stations (Concord, Cambridge, Malden, DC, Goodneighbor, Castle, Jamaica P). Inside they have 'real' subway trains and shops like a miniature Diamond City. I like to just 'ride' all the trains at first to get the areas marked and do some exploring. It makes following quests much more interesting. Another useful one is Highway Runner. The mod author has actually connected all of the highways and you can travel quickly there on foot, or vehicle. Don't have to stay on the ground at all.
  13. I haven't played a straight vanilla game for awhile, but think the Rifleman perks also apply to shotguns. That gives you a lot of damage with a sniper rifle and shotgun for close range. The ones for pistols and auto weapons are great when maxed out. Some of it depends on whether you use VATS much. Some weapons get more benefits there.
  14. I have found that backup is your friend, not just for files. I am using Vortex and have created about 7 or 8 profiles under that: 1. Default - contains FO 4 game with unofficial patch 2. Clone of #1 with 5 or 6 of the tools/mods I always use 3. Clone of #2 with wider variety of useful things (weapons,locations,companions, etc) 4. Clone of #2 with Horizon specific additions 5. Clone of #2 with Sim Settlements specific additions 6. Clone of #2 with Outcasts and Remnants specific additions 7. Working version of current game In Vortex there are 150+ mods installed for the current game; but in each item, only those listed for a profile are active. I find it safer, if there are problems, to clone the 'master' profile and add the additional mods to fill it in order to locate complications. I'm not comfortable deactivating, or deleting mods after the fact. I actually have about three other profiles of current games where I'm trying various overhauls. I have not had any CTDs related to the mods. I have had a couple when trying to do too many things too quickly!
  15. There are a few mods that can change this environment and questing choices a lot. These are all by Thuggysmurf: Fusion City Outcasts and Remnants Project Valkyrie Subways of the Commonwealth - Standalone The first three are large mods that add lots of very good changes to the game, especially if you don't like the vanilla factions and choices. The Subways mod is contained in Outcasts and Remnants, but not usable until later in the game. The standalone version is available immediately in Concord and adds a strong element to the game. It provides 7 actual subway stations (Concord, Cambridge, DC, Malden, Goodn, Castle, JamaicaP) to transit the Commonwealth. However it can't be used at the same time as the others. The subway standalone Is now a primary mod for me in all games that don't include the others, particularly in survival mode. I haven't found any issue when using it with many other mods.
