  1. I'd enjoy a mod that made fade Goldanna (but not the real one) look like a young human Fiona with Alistair's skin and eye color. It'd also be cool if she had Duncan's earring and was wearing apostate clothes (the kind with pants from DA2?)
  2. I'd like fhuman black jockstrap underwear with a white waistband and a black flat-chested undershirt tank . I'd also like the necklace without a pendant. If some of the changes weren't possible, I'd still enjoy the color scheme
  3. I'd like a mod that makes them immortal too :)
  4. I always feel guilty when I come upon this quest and I either have to kill rams or let people go hungry. I would love it if someone made a mod that allowed the player to receive food when they choose to have the the herb garden instead of the Chantry garden in Skyhold, as if they were just growing crops. Alternatively, allowing meat to be gathered from animals/creatures that attacked on sight instead of defenseless rams would be good (it could be collected from bears or dragons maybe). I would also settle for just buying the food somewhere.
  5. I would enjoy a mod that gave Dorian a hairstyle with short hair on the sides and a curly top. He could also have an earring :)
  6. Totally agree, I'd like to leave cole with a hat on, although I'd like to make it the flower crown :D
  7. I would love a mod that makes Vivienne's default clothing when she's hanging around in skyhold the more armored/covered version in this picture https://isabelcfernandez.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/dai-vivbase.jpg I would also really enjoy Dorian's Default clothing style looking like his medium/heavy armor style http://41.media.tumblr.com/901167026a2ec52840f3c34014948551/tumblr_nig54e4LX31u3mr38o4_500.jpg If Sera had a red/black version of the avvar armor as her default clothing it would be cool https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/e15/11189166_452045244967195_1066665660_n.jpg If any one of these got made, I'd be very happy :)
  8. I think it would look cool if dorian had a circle beard (a goatee connected to a moustache). If anyone wanted to make this that would be awesome. Possible inspiration :) http://i.ytimg.com/vi/yau9A_bKacY/maxresdefault.jpg http://cdn.pastemagazine.com/www/blogs/lists/2011/01/28/Gordon%20and%20Alyx%20scaled.jpg http://foreveryoungadult.com/_uploads/images2/buffy_7x14_robin.PNG
  9. I'd like to have Garahel's sword. It could be a Dar'Misaan with a gold griffon embossed on the pommel.
  10. I think it'd be cool to have Andraste's robe. It could be a blue Chantry style mage robe with some metal/armored parts, or maybe some chainmail. It might have the bird that's on the Alamarri heraldry on it, or a wolf.
  11. Dragons might be more intelligent than they are currently thought to be, although we can't even be certain that the old gods ever existed. If they did exist and the archdemons really are the corrupted old gods, archdemons are still far more intelligent than other dragons so I'm not sure that we could necessarily determine how intelligent dragons are by looking at archdemons/old gods, although it would be an indication that they are probably more intelligent than a lot of other animals. If the Dragon really has a level of intelligence that is compatible with those kinds of plans, I would say that trying to get people to start a religion around herself makes her kind of a megalomaniac. Going on a rampage in order to strengthen her religion isn't helping her case with me. (Although maybe she's trying to make things better for dragons in which case I'd think she's pretty cool :D. I doubt that they'd take the game in that direction, but you never know.) Anyways, my wardens thought that she'd be fairly likely to go on a rampage eventually and weren't going to give her extra power, they didn't believe that she had plans to start a religion. Personally, I saw making her more powerful as more of a threat to others, but other people could see it differently. OK, that makes sense. I agree that a large amount of lyrium alone wouldn't create a weak spot in the veil. If it went along with a lot of blood and death in the area it might contribute though. A lot of killing/spilled blood in a lyrium rich area might also be more likely to create a weak spot in the fade, although Orzammar has seen plenty of fighting. Maybe the lack of a weak spot in the fade has to do with the dwarves being magic resistant/not magical, the blood spilled there might be more magic resistant and might not have the same effect even in a lyrium rich area. If tears in the veil are caused by spirits crossing into the fade when people die, it might take dwarve's spirits longer to travel there and not have the same kind of sudden effect that a blood mage would wish for. Dwarves don't enter the fade as easily as others. They might also be less likely to enter the fade all at once and put enough strain on the veil to tear it. Still, I think the most likely option for the Guardian's existence is that the Guardian's life is prolonged by the ashes. I don't see this as a "bad guy" thing to do, since he spends his entire life protecting them in loyalty to Andraste's memory. He could've done more productive things with his time and even used them to cure some non-nobles (I think Andraste would've been down with that), but c'est la vie. I'm terrible at sports so I'm lucky we're doing this instead!
  12. I don't think I've seen a mod that allows a female warden to have sex with female characters in the role of the male warden yet. I'm not sure, but perhaps the genderring in this mod would let you do that? http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/13
  13. Believing that the dragon would have those kind of lofty motivations if it went on a rampage seems to require the belief that this dragon really is special or not like other dragons in some way. My wardens did not believe this, but I suppose the possibility cannot be disproven either. It's true that the epilogue cannot be assumed to be definitely true, but it would be the best information that we have, and it would make the events described in it much more likely to be true. I don't think blood magic is not required for the veil to be thin. The veil is also more likely to be thin in places that have seen a lot of bloodshed. This is from a codex entry (it's true that an entry can't simply be taken as fact, but it is the best information that we have): "Studies of the Veil have never been thorough. The Tevinters once theorised that the Veil is thin in places that have seen great bloodshed. As the Chantry is so fond of reminding us, the magisters of the Imperium only once crossed physically into the Fade, the catastrophe that blackened the Golden City. As the story goes, the ritual consumed a vast quantity of lyrium and the blood of a hundred slaves. But was it the deaths that bridged the worlds, or simply the blood and lyrium? Or both? Demons seize every opportunity, every tear in the Veil, to enter our world." I would imagine that many pilgrims have died trying to get through the gauntlet, and that there is a lot of lyrium there. Oghren comments on this and says that the whole mountain is full of lyrium, which I would think would also have something to do with the veil being thin (as well as having the ashes of a particularly powerful mage resting there). The Guardian also says that when the people of Haven started worshiping dragon-Andraste, many of those who disagreed were killed. The guardian might even be a person who's lifespan is affected by the healing abilities of the ashes. Oghren guesses that the Guardian's unnatural long life is caused by the lyrium of the mountain. He might also be a spirit, but it is not possible to know for sure. This conversation has gotten pretty in depth :D
  14. Agreed! It's so much better. I love all of honestRope's stuff.
  15. Well, I suppose there's the feminized massive armor. This changes the shape of the massive armor to a more feminine shape. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1640 There's also the phoenix armory. These added in armors are female only and are meant to be more feminine. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1660 The slender heavy armor form for human females is made by the same modder as the phoenix armory mod. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1490 Would you consider the Legacy of Sundown armor more feminine? http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/829 Personally I love tmp's light armors, I like the unisex versions, so that's obviously not more feminine. He also has the default armors with just the body shape changed though. I think they look more realistic than the default, I guess you could say that they might look more feminine, the dwarves definitely do. 16. You make a good point in considering the situation from the perspective of the dragon-Andraste followers, but I don't think it's likely that the dragon can understand the complexities of human speech; the dragon just didn't attack Kolgrim when he spoke. Dragon-Andraste is probably used to being fed and served by them, so it seems plausible that she wouldn't attack. I think that she's just a normal high dragon (although I'm not sure how intelligent most dragons are). Of course it's better not to kill anyone, or to make them suffer (whatever their intelligence level or species), but I have not seen anything that would give me enough confidence to just give Dragon-Andraste a bunch of new powers with which to "smite her enemies" (Kolgrim's words). As for the dragon not already pillaging the surrounding area, according to the dragon age wiki, "High dragons rarely leave their lairs; they prefer to spend their time sleeping, mating, and living off the prey their drakes bring back. However, roughly once every century, the high dragon will prepare for clutching by taking wing. Commonly known as a rampage, she will fly far and wide for weeks, eating hundreds of animals, to support her growing dragonlings. Leaving devastation in her wake, she then returns to her lair to lay her eggs, restarting the cycle of dragons". With these habits in mind, it seems unlikely that Dragon-Andraste would go rampaging much more often than 100 years, but I'd still be reluctant to give her new powers for when she did do this. Also looked up on Dragon Age wiki, "If The Warden defiled the Sacred Ashes for Kolgrim, Brother Genitivi announces discovery of the Ashes, drawing enormous attention from scholars. Expeditions to the ruins found nothing and several years later his work is declared fiction. He commits suicide. The Dragon appears by winter, rampaging across the countryside, rumors are heard of it being worshiped as Andraste by cultists, and efforts to find the lair or the ashes ultimately fail as the cultists rapidly gain converts." So, it does appear that the dragon will go on a rampage, which makes it pretty undesirable to potentially enhance the dragon's power. I understand why the people of Haven did what they did, they felt that they had to protect their way of life (although it was pretty a uncool thing for them to do, they could have at the very least tried to make a deal with Genitivi, not tortured the guards and then regale Genitivi with tales of this, not automatically try to kill the warden and refuse to deal with him/her, etc.) It would be pretty legitimate for them to be afraid of what the Chantry would do to them though. Even if one made the case that their wish to protect their traditions justified kidnapping Genitivi and torturing/ killing the knights, it certainly would not justify Eirik (according to Genitivi) being pleased/smug that he had done this. Still, that also doesn't justify the warden killing a bunch of townspeople or even killing Kolgrim, they want to be left alone and shouldn't have to deal with outside powers like the (mainstream) Chantry. The exposure of the people of Haven to the rest of the world can still be minimized if Genitivi is sent back to Denerim when you first meet him. Your warden has the option to refuse to take him with you while exploring the temple, and he will just give you the key and go back to Denerim. The deaths of the townspeople can be minimized by not going into any of their houses while going up to their chantry, not going into the back room of the trader's building and going straight from their chantry to the temple without checking the outside area first. The rest of the deaths are pretty unavoidable. Kolgrim and his group of mages/warriors that you meet are the additional group of people that die/attack you if your warden doesn't defile the ashes, but I think enhancing the powers of the dragon is more destructive in the long run. I agree that the templars are a worry and that many tend to solve their problems violently, but they're unfortunately also kept on a pretty short leash by the Chantry through the use of drugs/ drug dependence, I have no doubt that all of their actions are on Chantry instruction. I don't think that it can be assumed that the wraiths are in the gauntlet through the use of blood magic. They could just be there because the veil between the fade and the world is weak/thin there. I doubt that the Guardian is a demon bound to Andraste's will, I'm pretty sure he died after she did. He was the spirit of someone who once lived, he was a devoted follower. Actually, his reaction is another reason I wouldn't want to destroy the ashes. After guarding the ashes for who knows how long, it would have all been for nothing.
  17. I agree that Andraste was just a strong mage, but she was actually pretty cool in some ways. She led a struggle for freedom against her people's oppressors. The whole 'magic exists to serve and not to rule over people' rule doesn't seem like something that's necessarily meant to oppress mages. It seems more like a prohibition against mind control and using one's power to control others. Having the experiences that her people had with the blood magic of the Tevinter mages, this seems like a reasonable prohibition. It could have been addressed to other mages and a reminder to herself. I think it could be that the intent of the message was distorted over time. Unfortunately, many people have used religion to add legitimacy to their battles. They were slaves fighting against their masters and trying to free themselves (Any tool that they could use in this situation seems pretty justified). Your warden has an opportunity to use religion to boost the morale of the troops in Redcliffe. She was probably a really charismatic leader who was already revered for military prowess. It's possible that she claimed religious inspiration for practical reasons and that it was one of those stories that grew in the telling (with her ending up as "the maker's betrothed"). I'm not saying that that's definitely how it was, but it's possible. It totally agree that the Chantry is completely messed up and oppressive though, it just doesn't necessarily follow that Andraste would have supported this (being an escaped slave and probably a mage herself). My characters weren't generally willing to take the risk of strengthening that dragon. I mean, what if pouring that blood in strengthened it and it and started going on some kind of killing rampage? Nothing against them, but worshiping a dragon is a pretty dangerous business. Killing all of those people wasn't cool though, but there wasn't a way to keep them from attacking.
  18. Aww, I read it! Nice run  I'll list some of the stuff my wardens did and the reasoning for some of their actions. 1=1st run through, 2=2nd run through 1= f city elf, 2=f human noble 1) Kept Anora on the throne 2) Put Alistair on the throne along with my warden 1) I think Anora is pretty cool, I don't think she deserves most of the hate that she gets. Not having noble blood is a plus for my city elf and it seems like most people who don't take bloodline into account favor her as the ruler. I respect that she's not willing to take crap from people who might use her gender or lack of royal blood as excuses to try to limit her influence. She's an intelligent/skilled ruler who wants to lead. Alistair has no desire to rule (and who could blame him? It does sound pretty unappealing). Alistair and my warden don't have to spend the rest of their lives getting entangled in politics, and I felt pretty badly about Anora's father being killed right in front of her, so at least she gets something she wanted out of this situation. On the downside, Alistair tends to be more compassionate than she is, which is an important quality to have in this position. She ends up not treating the elves well. 2) Although Alistair doesn't want to lead, he would be the more compassionate ruler, and he wouldn't screw over the elves. I'd prefer that my warden not have to live in the court, but they'd be best as a team of co-rulers, and at least they can be together. I don't want to harden Alistair, or put people together in a loveless political pairing, so this way there can be a ruling couple and the elves are left in a better position than they would have been under Anora. I felt guilty for killing Anora's father, then imprisoning her. She would have further put down the elves in Denerim though, so that's the way it goes. 1)Let the desire demon and templar leave 2) Killed them both trying to free the templar and prevent the demon from hurting others. My city elf thought that it wouldn't be right to end the templar's life, so she had to let them go. The demon would have continued hurting others after she killed the templar. After seeing Redcliffe my hnf couldn't allow that to happen . She also hoped that the templar would prefer that someone would try to free him. 1) Killed Vaughan 2) Left Vaughan in his cell Of course my city elf killed Vaughan. My hnf left him in his cell and stole his money. He was already locked up. Whatever, he can stay that way. 1 and 2: Alistair unhardened Alistair is better the way he is, one of his best qualities is being softhearted
1 and 2: Alistair killed Loghain Ach, this was tough. Loghain was involved in slavery (and helped almost enslave my city elf's father and abused her people), so it wasn't like he didn't totally deserve it. Sparing him would also pretty much ruin Alistair's life... He wasn't going to be able to hurt anyone again though, he was also at the warden's mercy, and being killed at the feet of his daughter seemed unnecessarily cold. In the end, I just figured that my warden wouldn't want to do it, but that she wouldn't stop Alistair from doing it if he just took the initiative (similar to the "if you want to kill him, then you do it" line you can use on Alistair when Zevran enters your group, although I didn't use that line then). It also seemed most appropriate for Alistair to be the one to duel Loghain anyways, he wanted to avenge the Grey Wardens and for my hnf run he was a threat to Loghain's power. 1 and 2: Did the dark ritual. This was a tough one. It sucked convincing someone (especially someone your warden cares about) to have sex they weren't keen on having. She was careful not to pick any of the guilt-trippy options. My wardens just told him what the situation was (including the ogb), and told him what they thought the best thing to do was, and that it could save his life. In the end it was of course his decision. I wanted my warden and Alistair to live, and I trust Morrigan. Some people don't like her because of this event, but she was just offering an alternative that you could choose to take, or not. Either your warden or Alistair would be dead otherwise. Still, the whole thing was super sketchy and I hope the experience wasn't a bad one for either of them. 1 and 2: Got Zathrian to remove the curse. Lanaya became the new keeper and the werewolves became humans
1 and 2: Saved the circle/sided with mages. 1 and 2: Urn of Sacred Ashes not messed with, killed the dragon, didn't kill Genitivi The Ashes have intense healing powers, and who knows what that stuff could do to that dragon? Best not to side with Kolgrim. 1 and 2: Saved Redcliffe, Conor and Isolde
1 and 2: Made Bhelen King, destroyed the Anvil of the Void, fought Branka Both of my wardens, but particularly my city elf wanted to improve the situation for the casteless. Although Bhelen seemed like an unsavory character, choosing Harrowmont would be a much worse situation for the casteless. The Anvil of the Void would have been used to kidnap people and turn them into golems...so that was not appealing. Branka also did terrible things to get where she did. 1 and 2: Completed the Crime Wave quests My city elf enjoyed giving the nobles some comeuppance, and my human noble had a bit of a mischievous streak and thought a lot of the other nobles were arrogant. Of course she jumped at causing any difficulty for Howe that she could. They both also wanted to help Slim out with his family. 1 and 2: Bribed the templars for the mage's collective Better that the mages have at least a little power outside of the chantry, and since the templars are addicted to lyrium anyways, it's better that they have some supplies that don't come from the chantry. They'd be just a little less under the chantry's thumb. 1 and 2: Sided with Raelnor (the more honorable father) for the Blackstone Irregulars 1 and 2: Killed Flemeth ...She was going to steal Morrigan's body, enough said. 1 and 2: Killed Sophia Dryden, Allowed Avernus to continue research without abusing anyone/he was banned from using people 1 and 2: Brought Bevin Back to Caitlin, paid 5G for the sword 1 and 2: Forced Lloyd and Berwick to fight Put Lloyd into the army for Bella, she shouldn't have to work for a creeper like that. My warden told Berwick that she thinks he should fight because it was better to put him into the army then send him off running out of the village, he just would have been killed. He also helped put the town in danger, so having him atone for that by helping out with the defense seems reasonable. (Yes, forcing people to fight is super questionable, but they both have done wrong and there's no other justice system that they would be held accountable to, and Redcliffe needed defense) 1 and 2: gave Bella 5G 1 and 2: Offered Caladrius a chance to leave before the fight, killed him at the end of the fight He was offered a chance to leave because the goal was to free his prisoners, the focus was not on him and it was best that he leave ASAP so that he did not further endanger the elves. Both wardens killed him in the end because he just would have left and continued enslaving elves. 1 and 2: Leliana unhardened, killed Marjolaine My Wardens told Leliana that Marjolaine would never leave Leliana alone as long as she lived, which was probably the truth. It was ultimately Leliana's decision. 1 and 2: Alistair gave Goldanna $ She's had a hard life. Although it of course isn't Alistair's fault, her bitterness is understandable. Did I hear right about what Maric did to their mother? Awful. Most people would probably disagree with this, but I don't think Goldanna was trying to be manipulative. There are better ways to get money out of someone than being really unpleasant to them, and then demanding money. I don't think she expected that to work, she was just bitter and trying to drive him away. She thought that he was a prince all this time, and that he didn't care about her or her children. Alistair really wants a family, so I think he's got to show her that he isn't just stopping by to gloat or have a look at the peasants (not a fair assumption to make, but she's been treated badly by others, and thinks this). I think he shouldn't give up. Even if he can't patch things up with her he can build a relationship with his nieces and nephews. I believe that she wouldn't react the same way if she understood that he was sincere. 1 and 2: Spared the blood mage in the tower and suggested she should use her abilities to battle against the blight. She was trying to fight for her freedom, she deserved some sympathy. It's better that she have a chance to redeem herself. I didn't like that the dialogue options forced your character to take an extremely harsh tone w/ her 1 and 2: Jowan is told to leave when he is first encountered This is basically to avoid him being tranquiled. He generally is a screw-up, but I think he'll make an effort to change and redeem himself. Connor and Isolde are going to be saved anyways, so his presence is not needed. 1 and 2: Spared Cauthrien She was blinded by her loyalty to Loghain, but eventually realized that he had to be stopped. She wasn't a bad person, and she steps aside under the right conditions.
  19. I'd say that the Chantry is authoritarian, controlling and oppressive towards mages. They tear families apart, lock people in a tower and destroy the ability of some to even feel emotions. Their ideology also includes a requirement of converting others to their religion. This justifies invasion into other territories and oppressive behavior towards people of other cultures who don't believe in the Maker. They used this justification to screw over/subjugate the elves and steal their land. They even take Shartan out of their chant, (presumably to make people forget the promise that they are breaking to the elves so the populace feels that they are in the right in going to war) and they generally act like terrible people. Maintaining their own personal army and keeping them addicted to lyrium so that they can maintain even more control is also super sketchy. They also provide explanations for the origin of darkspawn that scapegoat the mages, and that don't necessarily have any basis for truth. People are encouraged to blindly believe in the Chantry's legends rather than admitting that they don't know why darkspawn, or anything else exists. Generally, admitting that you don't know the answer to something is a prerequisite to being able to honestly search for answers. The chantry also seems to have a strong relationship with the monarchy in Ferelden, one could say that it adds legitimacy to the throne by performing the coronation of the next ruler. There is probably a "divine right to rule" thing going on here. This reinforces the idea of the ruling classes ruling because they are somehow meant to be in that position. If someone is the ruler, it's because the Maker favors them rather than because the social system is set up to favor them. So, there are the obvious points that the Ferelden monarchy is not a system that is going to be accountable to the people and that it focuses on a kind of blood-supremacy. Also a union with the public expectation to procreate is pretty gross. It's way too much pressure/focus on the Queen being pregnant, and would force a gay ruler into the closet and into a loveless pairing. I would say that the thought of people spending the rest of their lives with each other for political reasons and to produce babies with the rest of the nation looking in on them is unappealing. After all this, their kids still might suck at ruling. That sort of concentration of power is a bad plan. The Chantry is providing legitimacy for this. It also provides tacit justification for anything terrible a king/queen of Ferelden might do through the implication that they were made king/queen through the Makers will. Also, they exert control over the sex lives of their Chantry Sisters/Brothers/Mothers, uncool. Some people are also left on the Chantry's hands at an early age and are raised to enter into the Chantry in some way. Providing shelter and an education is of course a positive, but they show their controlling/power seeking side yet again by forcing those people into becoming templars/priests/whatever else. On the other hand, the Chantry seems to do a lot of good among the working people. Their buildings act as sanctuaries in times of need. They also have a system set up that enables people to help each other and will even pay money for people to do this. The Chantry seems to be a place that people can turn to when they are struggling. I don't really see any other place that people can go to if they are having trouble making ends meet other than the Chantry in Ferelden society. Sooo, it's got its pros and cons. From a gaming standpoint I'd say it's a pretty complex and interesting system and it was fun to write about :)
  20. Well, there's this mod if you'd prefer it. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/563
