  2. In your Steam / Steamapps / common / Skyrim folder, look for the SkyrimEditor.ini

    Under [General] add:

    bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

    Under [Archive] make sure SResourceArchiveList2= looks like this:

    SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

    if you have all three dlc it should look like this:

    SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

  3. I just hit the 1900 hour mark. I have wiped everything a couple of times to check out beta patches or try new combinations of mods, but with the exception of some bumps when Heathfire was released and a current lip sync problem, it's been pretty smooth sailing.

  4. 'You wish to become a lich? It's very easy, my friend. Simply find the heart of a lich, combine it with the tongue of a dragon, and cook it with the flesh of a well-ridden horse. This combination is certain to make you undead.' - Maiq the Liar

  5. Can you copy the updated over the old or is it best to delete first?

    Good idea to uninstall first. At least one of the file names changes so it won't overright.

  6. Guys, I asked about level caps, you start discussion about SKSE, nexus and whatnot else :/

    Sorry, things did derail a bit. I blame the ADHD.

    I don't think there is a max because you can make your skills legendary as many times as you like, apparently. The only real benefit though is health, magika and stamina. Your skills are still capped at 100. Nothing changes except the skill getting a symbol under it, as far as I know.

  7. Cot is one of those mods I couldn't play a bethesda game without you most likely don't notice it because it blends so perfectly with the game (thats what its supposed to do) but mark my words you would notice it if was gone.

    This is quite true, I'm currently playing without CoT for the 1.9 beta and I miss it terribly :(

    OP (and any other curious people), this might help a bit:

    It's for an older version of CoT, but it covers what the mod does very well.

    All the plugins that Gopher mentions as being in the works have been implemented.

  8. am i going crazy or did they just post another update for the patch. SKSE is winning that is its not up to date, and when I used the Skyrim Client, it did show another update. ITs good that they have posted another one so soon, but kind of annoying since now im waiting on SKSe!!

    1.9.29.0.8 is the newest

    They did. SKSE usually catches up in a few hours. (Or you can use the Previous Version feature in Win 7)

    One of the things they've fixed, btw, is the recurring disease issue. No more Witbane :)

  9. I don't think there's any other way than subscribing to download mods from Workshop (could be wrong).

    Not sure if this helps you, but what I do is subscribe, let the mod download (run the launcher) and then unsubscribe immediately.

    Usually, I'll bundle the mod up so I can install it with NMM (unless it's just an esp) and just check the mod page occasionally for any updates.

    Works just fine that way. You could think of it as an additional patch... find all the mods you want, login, run the launcher and then go back offline.

    You don't have to stay connected to Steam (or subscribed) for the mods to function, thank goodness.

    Apologies if that's not particularly helpful. It is a pain.

  10. The persistent problem I was running into when applying the patch in conjunction with all my mods was that every load I'd be infected with four different diseases at once. I could cure them all by any normal means but if I quit and loaded up the game again they would return. And that character is a werewolf to boot. felt the likeliest incompatibility in that regard was RN&D, but an uninstall of the mod didn't solve the issue. I didn't spend much more time with it than that though as I felt like actually playing than troubleshooting, so I reverted back to 1.8, Other than that one issue though things were playable.

    According to Arthmoor, this is a problem with the patch not your mods. Haven't run into it yet myself.

    Thread regarding diseases on the Official forums

    So far all I've noticed is that the game is running quite a bit smoother.

  11. When exiting Whiterun, instead of going to the right and following the road all the way down and around, I just go to the left and jump off of the rocks to the farm below. Usually I'll land on the fence to prevent the damage on lower leveled characters.

    Me too, every time, though I never hit the fence. I also take / steal / buy every sweet roll I see.

  12. I have both the disc GOTY version and the Steam version. The only difference is that the Steam version doesn't come with the Construction Set. You can get the missing files here on Nexus, however. Runs just fine.

    Good advice for either version is to install outside of your Program Files folder (C:Games/Steam for example). Some mods, or mod utilities like MGE or Wrye Mash have problems with Windows UAC feature. Installing outside Program Files will prevent a lot of headaches.

    Good place to find links for utilities, bugifixes and mod info / advice here: Mod Recommendations for New Players

    Hope you enjoy it :)

  13. I'm actually having the same problem at the moment. The main suggestion from UESP is to try to get Farkas to do his Purity quest first, as you did. This isn't working for me, either.

    Edit II: Actually it did work. If you have a save before the point Vilkas offers you the quest, go to Vilkas and let him offer the quest but back out of the conversation. Leave, fast travel somewhere and come back. Talk to Farkas and he should offer you a dragon hunting quest. Go complete it with him. Upon returning, Farkas should offer you his Purity quest, go do that. When you return Vilkas will offer you his, bug free. Hallelujah. (Sincerely hope that made some sort of sense and helped...)

    The other suggestion is asking Vilkas to follow you when the option comes up for Purity but before you accept it. Take him to shrine at Ysgramor's Tomb, release him as a follower then grab the quest from him and toss the head in before he has a chance to walk away.

    If that doesn't work, there are other suggestions on the UESP page: http://www.uesp.net/...rim:Purity#Bugs

    Good luck. There's some hoop jumping no matter how you tackle it. Maybe someone else has discovered a simpler solution.

  14. Having watched my brother put several hours into Dragonborn, i can say, IMO, it is content unlike anything we've seen since Morrowind. Itis an expansion, plain and simple, and is leagues ahead of what Dawnguard was, or even what Shivering Isles offered.

    And that's without even making it to Dragon Riding.

    In between the arguing I'm reading your interjections with an ever growing sense of glee. Thanks for that.

    Can't wait to play it.
