  1. Hi, Stiker879, Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, when Velwyn Benirus enters Benirus Manor, instead of saying to my character You lead the way, Hopefully, there won't be too much fighting, he just stands still in the main entrance hall. If I try to talk to him, the only topic he has is Do you want to continue to the manor? If I say yes, he just speaks in affirmation, but still doesn't move. So we don't even get down to the portal. I forgot to mention in my first message, that I am using Oblivion Script Extender as well as Better Benirus Manor, Benirus Manor - Helping Hands, as well as the COBL version of its mod, amongst others. Any further advice to resolve this problem would be gratefully appreciated.
  2. Hello, all. I have started playing Oblivion again with a new character. I am currently working on the Where Spirits Have Lease quest and I am encountering a problem. I've spoken to Velwyn Benirus about Lifting The Curse. On entering the manor after him, I cannot complete the quest. Instead of asking me to lead the way, hoping there isn't too much fighting, he doesn't say anything, just stands there. If I talk to him, he just asks me, Do you want to continue to the manor? i am currently using the Better Benirus Manor and COBL mods, amonst others. I am currently using the latest version of Oblivion. I have tried a clean install, then reinstalled my mods again. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, would you please inform me how you solved it? Thanks.
  3. Hi All, I've just started playing Oblivion again with a new character. I'm currently working on the quest Where Spirits Have Lease and I've hit a snag. Velwyn and I have entered Benirus Manor, but instead of him following me to the secret door in the basement to open it, allowing me to finally lift the curse, he just stands there. If I try to speak to him, the only options available are either Continue to the manor, or wait for me.I have the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and Better Benirus Manor mod iinstalled. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, would you please explain how you fixed it? Thanks. ARYON
  4. Hi all, I have the GOTY version of Oblivion and I still LOVE playing it. I am now planning to create 2 versions of my current character. One based solely in Cyrodiil and the other only in the Shivering Isles. To achieve this, can I leave the DLC Shivering Isles mod turned off, until I have completed the main Cyrodiil quest, then turn on the DLC Shivering Isles mod later so that I can go there, or do I have to have the DLC Shivering Isles mod turned on at the start and turn it off later for my Cyrodiil-based character? Thanks.
  5. Hi all, Firstly, I have not installed any Beyond Cyrodill mods. To keep you all updated, I loaded Oblivion normally (Not Through The Script Extender), so that I could enter Sedor. I made a temporary save, then quit the game. Then I loaded the game again through the Script Extender, picked up the Stone Of St Alessia and tried exiting through the door, no problem, as I exited normally. So the problem seems to occur only on ENTERING, not EXITING. The last mod I installed was the No Borders mod, which is an OMOD. Just a thought, could that be causing my problem? Thanks for all your help.
  6. Hi all, I love playing Oblivion using the Script Extender. However, I have a problem completing one of the quests for The Fighter's Guild. I am trying to complete the mission where i am tasked with retrieving The Stone Of St Alessia from Sedor and return it to the church in Bruma. For some reason i cannot activate Sedor's door to gain entry, though the cursor appears correctly, if I load Oblivion through the Script Extender. However, I have no problem entering if I just load the game normally (not through the Script Extender). I have not altered Sedor in any way. I have installed the latest version of the Script Extender. All the other locations around Cyrodiil can be entered without a problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, can you please suggest a way to solve this problem? Thanks.for any advice to solve this problem.
  7. Hi all, I still love playing Oblivion and in general I STILL LOVE IT!! However, unlike Morrowind, which allows almost any length of Occupation to be entered, the same cannot be said for Oblivion, which has a much smaller occupation box. Therefore, can a modder please create a mod which extends the Oblivion occupation box to that of Morrowind, if it doesn't exist already? Thanks
  8. Hi all, I have recently found my original The X Files game disks. After installing on my Windows XP Home Edition PC with Quicktime 3.0 which came with the game, it plays fine, but the sound is very 'scratchy'. I have tried installing Quicktime 4.0 which corrects the 'scratchy' sound, but the game crashes shortly after I get Agent Willmore to read through his work files. Can anyone please advise me of a version of Quicktime which keeps the game sound clear, without causing the game to crash? Thanks.
  9. Thanks OblivionAddicted for your suggestion. Unfortunately, when I tried changing the ownership of the Duke/Duchess of mania's bed as you suggested, nothing happened. My companion still cannot sleep on the bed. Is there another option I have to change, to solve this problem? Thanks.
  10. Hi all, My character is currently in The Shivering Isles with a companion. He is the Duke Of Mania and reached the rank of Madgod. By default, he cannot sleep in the Duke's bed, despite his rank, but I just changed its ownership so I can. However, my companion cannot use it. Can someone please create a mod so that when the player becomes the Duke/Duchess of Mania/Dementia, both he and his companion can use the relevant bed? Or is there a way to make the bed Unowned so that both of us can use it? Thanks.
  11. Hi all, I've just installed the DLCOrrery plugin for Oblivion which allows me to help Bothiel restore the Orrery. However, I've noticed something. There is a quest in the Mage's Guild where I have to ask her about the Shade Of The Revenant. When I ask her about it, even though the Orrery is restored, she still replies as if it is isn't Can someone please make a mod which corrects this, so that Bothiel recognizes the Orrery is restored when the DLCOrrery plugin is installed and turned on, so that she will use the Orrery to assist with the Shade Of The Revenant quest in the mage's Guild? Thanks.

  13. Hello again, Oblivionaddicted. Thanks for your suggestion. However, as I really want to keep all my mods, I've come up with a workaround. If I leave my unicorn mount near the horse I purchased for my companion before dismounting, then go to my companion and ask her to Follow Me one more time, she will do so and mount her horse again when I do. It's worked so far, I'll let you know if it works OK for my other characters. Kind Regards,

In reply, I've just run a confliction check on the CM Partner mods associated with my current character and it highlights the PB_CMHorses.esp and PWM_Armoured-Unicorn Mount.esp mods. Do I need the former file so that my companion will ride the horse I have purchased for him/her? I love riding my Unicorn Mount and don't want to remove this mod, because it works perfectly. Thanks.
  15. Hi all, I love the CM Partners mod for Oblivion. The majority of the time it works great. However, I have noticed a slight problem. Every time I dismount my horse, my companion does likewise. However, when I mount my horse again later, even though I have already told her to Follow Me, my companion just seems to walk backward and forwards as if on patrol, instead of remounting the horse I purchased for her. It doesn't seem to matter how far away I am from my horse when I mount him/her again, the same thing happens. As a temporary fix, I have to ask my companion for Follow Me again several further times until she mounts his/her horse. Could this mod be conflicting with the PWM Armored Unicorn Mount Mod? Does anyone know a permanent way to solve this problem please, as it is becoming annoying? Thanks.
  16. Hello all, I love playing Oblivionâ. However there are two spells which are lacking in the game in my opinion, which were in available in Morrowind: Detect Enchantment and Detect Keyâ. Does anyone know if there is a script/mod to add these spells to Oblivion and if not, would someone create one, please? Thanks.

In reply to your question, DrakeTheDragon , when I tried to spawn my purchased Bay Horse in front of me in-game, the construction set code assigned to it, 0004de8e, does not work with the Player.MoveTo command in the console. The only command that does work with the command is Player.MoveTo ff006563 and I'm always instantly teleported near my Bay Horse.

I tried using the command MoveTo "FF006563"​ in my script, in the hope I would be teleported near my Bay Horse​, but unfortunately even though the code seems static when I just buy one horse, when I try to save my script, I receive an error informing me that the code was not recognized, even though it always works in the in-game console. Any further advice you can offer, please? Thanks.
  19. Hello again all, Thanks for your advice, DrakeTheDragon, I appreciate it. The MoveTo command is just what I am looking for. Unfortunately, I've hit a new snag. The command only works in-game. When I try to use the command in my Script, eg, Player.MoveTo FF006563(which is the correct <RefID> for my Bay Horse), on trying to save the script, the code isn't recognized. Is there a way around this problem that you know of? Also, is there a script command which will check whether I have bought the selected horse? If it detects I have, then I'm teleported near it. If not, I stay where I am and a message comes up informing me I haven't bought that horse yet? Thanks.
  20. Hello all, All my characters have a companion with his/her own horse. Unfortunately, although my companion and I ride everywhere together, at times their horse disappears. To avoid this, I am working on a spell which will be able to place near the player the horse my character has purchased for his/her companion. At present, I am using a spell which uses the PlaceAtMe command, followed by the appropriate code for the purchased horse, etc. However, on the occasions I have to use this spell, it produces more than one purchased horse. Does anyone know of a Console Command which does the opposite of PlaceAtMe? Thanks.
  21. Hello all. Can someone please tell me if there is a way to create an enchanted weapon that never needs recharging; i.e, the destructive enchantment always takes effect the moment the weapon hits its target. Thanks.
  22. I've just looked at the Nakayoshimods​ mod you suggested, I am L. The companion can ride a horse, but he/she is sitting on the player's horse the wrong way and not like in real life. The second one you suggested just allows your companion to ride a horse that the player has bought. Can you please suggest another mod that allows the companion to ride the same horse as the player, just as in real life? Thanks.

I am curious that Bethesda allowed the player to purchase a horse in-game and there is already a mod to allow your companion to ride a horse, if you've already bought a horse for yourself that he/she can ride. But there is currently no mod to allow your companion to ride the same horse as your character, as passenger, like in real life. Would a modder be willing to create such a mod, please, to make riding horses more realistic? Thanks.

  25. Hi all, Just a quick update on my original problem. I tried completely uninstalling my GOTY version of Morrowind and even removed the original game directory. Then I reinstalled Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon in that order, loading the game after each completed installation. Finally I reinstalled all my mods. Since doing so, the problem 'seems' to be sorted. However, I've only created one new character so far, so I'll keep you posted if it happens with any others. Thanks again for all your advice, it's greatly appreciated.
