  1. LOL hector530 me neithere  If I ask Lydia to wait at home but don't dismess her, she will remain in the armor I gave her (I removed her default armor). If I dismiss her, I will find her later back in the house buck naked. She still has the armor I gave her, so I just enter dialouge and put it back on her. Never worried about it enough to care with finding a fix. Maybe she just like to be comfortable
  2. One at the most, but 90% of the time none. They tend to get in the way too much!
  3. I don't have a problem with file bloating, but I did have random freezes of the game as soon as Skyrim updated. It was getting ridiculus. I fixed the problem by removing the Unofficial Syrim Patch and going here and downloading a different patch Unofficial Skyrim Patch: http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/files/category/21-hosted-projects/ Ironically, after installing this downloaded patch via nmm and placing it as the first .esp file in the load order, the problem was solved. It ironically improved my load times, not sure why, and cleared two quests that had been completed but would not show as such? Anyway, I have had no problem with this patch thus far. Not sure if it would help in your case but thought I would throw it out there.
  4. Sigh, after countless hours on the same character, all my save games have become corrupt. Jumped through all the normal hoops, but to no luck. Even if I go back to a good save, subsequent saves are bad and the game sticks on the loading screen forever but sure loves to give me tips, LOL! I have a good save to go back to, but can no longer get a good save after loading that one and picking up where I left off? I have not added or updated any of my mods at all, and everything is the same as before. Three hours tonight wasted with nothing accomplished. Is anyone else having this problem?
  5. Downloaded and installed. All working great so far.
  6. Awesome system, but I agree with Lanceor on the VRAM, which could become an issue. Also agree with AxlRocks on the RAM.
  7. Same here: [WETriggerScript<(01099883)>WARNING: Onlnit() myHoldLocation property has not been set, this will result in errors. I have jumped through all the hoops but to no avail. Was gone for almost two weeks and played again for the first time last night with no problems. Different story this evening however; Sigh, my first serious problem with the game to date so I should feel lucky? Been a long day and I don't have the patience to mess with it further.
  8. Fortunado3, I have to agree about the mods, I would be sorely disappointed without them. Just took issue with the fact you took a shot at the players of the game and not who you are really upset with. I had to chuckle when I, as a player was lumped into newbs. I would venture to guess I was taking COBOL and FORTRAN classes at UM long before you had grasped spelling your own name, if you were even born then. Back then our games were text only for the most part, and the interaction was archaic to say the least. Maybe that has taught me patience vs. the need for instant gratification. There is a fix though, you could start your own company and do it better? By the way, very good point Rennn! .....And with that, I am off to the Florida Keys for a couple of weeks to delve into the adventures of the real world, and I am not bringing a computer along. Everyone have fun, and I can't wait to see what is out there in the form of mods when I get back. Kudos to all of you modders that take the time to make Skyrim a better gaming experience!
  9. Fortuanado3, the statement "Skyrim - A game for newbs, casuals and the unreceptive. IMO." taken as a whole makes absolutely no sense. Unreceptive of or to what exactly would be my first question? Not to mention, if you are playing it, don't you fall into the three categories you just mentioned? Now back on topic, I agree with Shadowgreen Cavern
  10. LOL, like everyone else said, it's a matter of choice. I went with the Stormcloaks simply because I got tired of having the Imperials act like jerks every time I encounterd them. Seemed as good a reason as any I guess. Probably didnt help that I had knocked off quite a few imperials already, so that probably made the decision easier. Was worried about my house in Whiterun during the Civil War, but it wssn't touched. Now I have Hjerim to boot.
  11. Hi Seargent Rock! Your rig is definately not junk by any means, but if it were me, from a gaming standpoint, I would concentrate first on replacing the vid card. The 240, while a great card, is not up to the task for the newer titles like Skyrim, not to mention you are being held back by 1 GB of vram. Right now, the best deal out there is the 560TI 2GB, and it handles Skyrim, etc. perfectly. It will definately boost your index scores not to mention the gaming abilities of your rig. I would personally stick with the 5xx series cards until the newer ones have come out, which is soon, and all the bugs have been worked out, which will take a while. You would get quite some time to happily game on the 5xx cards before you felt the need to move on. There is no doubt that adding an SSD or two into the mix would make a tremendous difference in your data transfer rate and game load times, but IMHO, I would address the vid card first.
  12. Nice looking fans and controller. I have six case fans, and two internal fans, with several case mods I had to make. Know what you mean about fan direction, I played around a bit to get the airflow I wanted and still maintain the positive pressure in the case. On paper, my intial setup based on cfms should have been perfect, but in real life it wasn't the case. After one fan flip I had what I needed too. When you get done, you are gonna have everything nice and cool!
  13. Nice Twistedlimit! What kind of fans and controller did you go with?
  14. Hmmm, I have had no problem with it, but it is possible to still be heard, and that can be bad. Combine the potion with say, Cicero's Boots, and sneak at the same time, and you are good. Also, the higher the your sneak level, the quieter you are.
  15. Ahhh, the DLC exclusively for the Xbox for 30 days doesn't bother me. We already enjoy a lot more flexibility, graphics, and mods on the PCs anyway, let them have some fun! Besides, I can't imagine the logistical nightmare of Bethesda trying to support multiple platforms with Skyrim, and trying to keep everyone happy with the endless variations of mods and PC hardware combos to boot.
  16. I have not had the crashes everyone else has experienced since day one. This being said, I have stayed with the latest driver releases for the vid card, been very careful about which mods I use and what they do and how they do it, meaning I have opted to not use a few I really wanted to. This only to head off potential problems down the road. The updates have not posed a problem thus far, knock on wood. Now with that being said, I am not sure if I am just darn lucky, it's my hardware configuration, selecting the right mods and not getting too carried away, or a combination of all three. If I was forced to pick one of the three, I would go with luck of picking the right mods, and not having any conflicting as the updates come out. Then again, I could be wrong
  17. I always sit back and let the new generation boards get released, go through the kinks getting worked out and drivers brought up to speed, and then upgrade. Has the advantage of letting other's pull their hair out, and by then the price has dropped significantly:)
  18. 232 here with one character. A lot of those hours have been spent getting a feel for an RPG given the big difference between that and the FPSs I have always played. Also a lot of time experimenting with mods and glitch fixes. Having fun though!
  19. If I want additional food in breezehome I pick it up during my travels and store it when I come home. Due to weight, it might mean you return more often, or sell some stuff while out and about that you have picked up and need the coin. I tend to be a hoarder in this game, but with the Dovahkiin Hideout mod added for Breezehome, it makes it easier to hoard, and then have little cooking, smelting, smitting, alchemy, and enchanting marathons before hitting the road again.
  20. Played FPS multiplayer titles for years, and during that time had lot's of fun.........but things changed over time, namely the way players played and interacted in-game. Hacking had become so prevalent that if you were a truly good player on a server, and kicking folks butts, it was assumed you were hacking and you were booted from the server. I am playing and enjoying Skyrim, my first foray into non-FPS/multiplayer because I can immerse myself in the game and massive content, on my schedule, without dealing with whiners, hackers, and absolutely ridiculous server admins who think they are a GOD while hiding behind a computer screen. I think dealing with the hackers and jerks became the real turnoff for me in the multiplayer format, and that definately became noticably worse by the time games such as Joint Ops came along. It's a shame really, but on the other hand, it opened up a whole new gaming element that I am truly enjoying. Nice not having to deal with nade spammers, spawn rapers, hackers, and I would definately not play Skyrim in a multiplayer format. I was also totally amazed at the problems my son had over time with his WOW account, for example, and after several hacks of his account he moved on. For some, multiplayer may be something they would look forward to, for me; I like Skyrim just the way it is, not to mention I don't see any way without re-coding the entire game that Skyrim would be a viable multiplayer game. JMHO.
  21. Hey guys, just wanted to give you a heads up that the Beta, or pre-release version of SKSE is working just fine for me with the new Skyrim update 1.4.27. I have put a couple of hours on the update while using the latest SKSE Link to silvercloak.org and did a lot of checking. All mods including Sky UI are working for me and I have experienced no problems with any of my mods. Simply installed the SKSE 1.4.13 and launched SKSE via NMM.
  22. 1. SkyUI 2. Skyrim HD - 2K Textures 3. Dovahkiin Hideout 4. Weapons and Armor Fixes 5. A Quality World Map with All Roads Tough to pick the top five because I have quite a few mods, and picking just five leaves out quite a few I wouldn't want to play without.
  23. Sneak = 100 Heavy Armor = 100 Pickpocket = 100 (Additional Skills in the 90s such as one-handed at 98) Since kills were mentioned: People = 1118 Creatures = 278 Undead = 573 Daedra = 32 Automatons = 56 Animals = 509 I have 488 critical strikes and 488 sneak attacks and my favorite weapon is a bow, with the sword a close second.
  24. Hmmmmm, when I feel the urge to use guns, nades, etc., I just fire up one of my many FPS titles and have at it. I have no knowledge of any mods like you are looking for, and would be surprised to find out there were. Definately would be out of context for a game such as Skyrim IMHO.
  25. Been playing for quite some time tonight with no problems.
