  1. Hi, I hope someone can help me troubleshoot. I used to know how to do this, but back after a long break from SSE... So, I have imported/converted a armor piece from LE to SSE. Used Cathedral AO, SSE NifOptimiser, NifSkope, etc. BUT I can not figure out why the cloak part (hanging down from the armor) distorts to one side. Everything else works, just this one part of the armor seems to wrap/twist/pull to the one side. Anyone know what I am missing here? Thanks for the help.
  2. "Not sure why you felt the need to stop by and complain about a mod manager you're not going to use." It should be clear from my post that I have been using it, and the OP asked for opinions from people using it.
  3. Obviously just my opinion, but.. What I used to love about NMM was it's simplicity. It was a mod organizer which worked well. What I am starting to intensely dislike about Vortex, is that it is very, very complicated. it's a monster that tries to do too much, and ends up mucking things up. My list of dislikes: (It all relates to Vortex trying to do EVERYTHING). 1. I do not want my mod manager to "inspect" my ESL files for changes, as this creates an issue every time you make changes to a mod in xEdit, or even just drop a mesh replacer directly into the SSE Data file. What Vortex does is find this file, and DELETE it for you. or reverting back to an earlier saved version, making you lose all the changes you made in xEdit. What a pain! 2. LOOT is great for sorting your mods. What is not great is Vortex trying to be LOOT, yet poorly. So it does not allow manual sorting, except with great cumbersome-ness. Making manual rules, and then having Vortex not able to implement these is vexing. And I mean simple stuff, like having one armor file load before another one because you use one to override something from the other one. Unless you change the file type, you get error message after error message. 3. FNIS is great for adding new animations to SSE, but Vortex wants to manage that too, and again, poorly. 4. Vortex leaves empty "phantom" folders when you uninstall a mod, which leaves a cluttered data folder 5. Vortex installs ALL image files (e.g. photos from mod creators), and text files created by mod authors directly into the DATA folder, which gives a very cluttered folder after a while. Not sure if thse files are needed by SSE, or can be deleted at this point. So I miss the good old days of using NMM to load my mods, xEdit to change things the way I like them and clean ITM records, using LOOT to get my load order sorted appropriately, and find ITM records, WITHOUT one of those programs deciding to NEGATE everything done by one of the other programs. EDITED: My verdict is the Vortex is good for people that download mods, and are happy for Vortex to manage everything. When you make changes of your own (outside Vortex), Vortex creates a layer of technical difficulty that does not need to exist.
  4. Thank you very much! Seems simple enough.
  5. Any experienced modders that can teach me how to have a item (weapon) only work when in the presence of a inventory item? What I want to do is have a situation where my weapon (a flintlock pistol, which is actually a reskinned staff model, so it recharges via soul gems) will ONLY work when an inventory item (a planned "bullet pouch") is present in the inventory of the player/npc. Thank you for your help
  6. Did I mention I am happy to pay for this? Just a reskinned staff model, and I can pay whatever you feel your time is worth.
  7. Hello, I am at my wit's end. I am trying to import a new model - a flintlock pistol shape - into Skyrim (Enderal actually). I have wached LeckerHamster's modding tutorial and every piece of advice I can find to get my model to work. But it just isn't... ugh. I am able to get the model to show up in the inventory with correct textures and size. I am NOT able to get the 1stperson .nif file (ingame model) to show up. And in Nifscope I am not able to move the gun model closer to the node it revolves around. So, I am asking for help. If there is anyone with with a spare hour or so that is expert with this, would you please respond to my request. I have all the model files (both the .obj files from Blender, and the Nifscope model). I have the textures correctly mapped and attached. But I need an expert to just "jig" the model to the Skyrim model (a staff) I used. Anybody please? Alternatively, if a guru could post a pathway of how to move a model closer to a node point and get it to show up in the game I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the great explanation. I don't think I need the diversity THAT much. Way too much work involved. :nuke: *sigh*
  9. I really like the idea of the mod "Nude Variety v4 Custom Bodies for All" https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1478?tab=description. But the problem is that it is broken somehow, and causes the game to crash on start up (every time) Anybody have any suggestion how I could mod the UTC file of some npc's (e.g. Leliana and Morigan) so the wear different sets of underwear (from the Lingerie series or Pink Transparent)? Thanks, any help appreciated
  10. Thanks everyone for the advice. Update: For the mage robes - once I left the Circle Tower the tint override went away - so it was a lighting effect.
  11. Viva La Orlais https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4370?tab=description Model name: req_mage_coat.uti Thanks. To clarify: it seems (so far) that only this one item from one mod looks affected. But I also have the facial texture issue that affects Lily. Probably not worth all the effort. She plays such a minor role. Just my ocd playing up Could it be a Direct X issue? I have Direct X12 I believe, and many mods refer to Direct X9
  12. No, different mods. In fact, only one that I have really noticed. I have made my own Mage of Ferelden IA, where I incorporate several mods (Robes of the Four ,The Witcher 3, Back to Ferelden, Loin Cloth Fashion - all not affected, Viva La Orlais - affected) I have looked at the .utc of the affected robes (Mage robes), and there is no tint overlay, so, yes, a mystery. Such a nice looking robe too.
  13. Thanks for the help (as always) I don't have any of those skin textures. I did remove JB3. Do the textures persist? I assumed (since it has no .erf etc, that it immediately reverts to vanilla when removed). The robes thing is really weird. In the inventory screen it shows correctly as black, but in game it appears purple-ish. I have only been in the mage's tower, so wonder if it is a lighting thing, but as I do not have any environmental mods that alter lighting it seems bizarre. Will see what happens as the game progresses
  14. Hi, hope someone can assist: I am experiencing a red-purple tint effect on many items, including armor (e.g. Viva La Orlais's mage robe showing up purple tinted, when they are in fact black); faces (e.g. Lily from Mage Origin has dark rings under her eyes when using Dragon Age Redesigned). The only texture mod I used, but uninstalled, was JB3. Made no difference. I tried turning off anti-aliasing and using FXAA Tool from Nexus, but again no change. Any ideas why this might be happening? I have a PC and graphics card way above requirements for the game, and when I previously played DA:O on the same PC did not experience this. Thanks!
