  1. Hi, I hope someone can help me troubleshoot. I used to know how to do this, but back after a long break from SSE... So, I have imported/converted a armor piece from LE to SSE. Used Cathedral AO, SSE NifOptimiser, NifSkope, etc. BUT I can not figure out why the cloak part (hanging down from the armor) distorts to one side. Everything else works, just this one part of the armor seems to wrap/twist/pull to the one side. Anyone know what I am missing here? Thanks for the help.
  2. Thank you very much! Seems simple enough.
  3. Any experienced modders that can teach me how to have a item (weapon) only work when in the presence of a inventory item? What I want to do is have a situation where my weapon (a flintlock pistol, which is actually a reskinned staff model, so it recharges via soul gems) will ONLY work when an inventory item (a planned "bullet pouch") is present in the inventory of the player/npc. Thank you for your help
  4. Did I mention I am happy to pay for this? Just a reskinned staff model, and I can pay whatever you feel your time is worth.
  5. Hello, I am at my wit's end. I am trying to import a new model - a flintlock pistol shape - into Skyrim (Enderal actually). I have wached LeckerHamster's modding tutorial and every piece of advice I can find to get my model to work. But it just isn't... ugh. I am able to get the model to show up in the inventory with correct textures and size. I am NOT able to get the 1stperson .nif file (ingame model) to show up. And in Nifscope I am not able to move the gun model closer to the node it revolves around. So, I am asking for help. If there is anyone with with a spare hour or so that is expert with this, would you please respond to my request. I have all the model files (both the .obj files from Blender, and the Nifscope model). I have the textures correctly mapped and attached. But I need an expert to just "jig" the model to the Skyrim model (a staff) I used. Anybody please? Alternatively, if a guru could post a pathway of how to move a model closer to a node point and get it to show up in the game I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the great explanation. I don't think I need the diversity THAT much. Way too much work involved. :nuke: *sigh*
  7. I really like the idea of the mod "Nude Variety v4 Custom Bodies for All" https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1478?tab=description. But the problem is that it is broken somehow, and causes the game to crash on start up (every time) Anybody have any suggestion how I could mod the UTC file of some npc's (e.g. Leliana and Morigan) so the wear different sets of underwear (from the Lingerie series or Pink Transparent)? Thanks, any help appreciated
  8. Thanks everyone for the advice. Update: For the mage robes - once I left the Circle Tower the tint override went away - so it was a lighting effect.
  9. Viva La Orlais https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4370?tab=description Model name: req_mage_coat.uti Thanks. To clarify: it seems (so far) that only this one item from one mod looks affected. But I also have the facial texture issue that affects Lily. Probably not worth all the effort. She plays such a minor role. Just my ocd playing up Could it be a Direct X issue? I have Direct X12 I believe, and many mods refer to Direct X9
  10. No, different mods. In fact, only one that I have really noticed. I have made my own Mage of Ferelden IA, where I incorporate several mods (Robes of the Four ,The Witcher 3, Back to Ferelden, Loin Cloth Fashion - all not affected, Viva La Orlais - affected) I have looked at the .utc of the affected robes (Mage robes), and there is no tint overlay, so, yes, a mystery. Such a nice looking robe too.
  11. Thanks for the help (as always) I don't have any of those skin textures. I did remove JB3. Do the textures persist? I assumed (since it has no .erf etc, that it immediately reverts to vanilla when removed). The robes thing is really weird. In the inventory screen it shows correctly as black, but in game it appears purple-ish. I have only been in the mage's tower, so wonder if it is a lighting thing, but as I do not have any environmental mods that alter lighting it seems bizarre. Will see what happens as the game progresses
  12. Hi, hope someone can assist: I am experiencing a red-purple tint effect on many items, including armor (e.g. Viva La Orlais's mage robe showing up purple tinted, when they are in fact black); faces (e.g. Lily from Mage Origin has dark rings under her eyes when using Dragon Age Redesigned). The only texture mod I used, but uninstalled, was JB3. Made no difference. I tried turning off anti-aliasing and using FXAA Tool from Nexus, but again no change. Any ideas why this might be happening? I have a PC and graphics card way above requirements for the game, and when I previously played DA:O on the same PC did not experience this. Thanks!
  13. No worries. I found the offending mod. Wasn't ULA at all, but the new version of Improved Atmosphere. Which I don't like much tbh.
  14. OK, so I have run into an unexpected problem! Seems both the "unique light armors" mod from tmp7704 and the "W2DAO" mod use a new armor model that replaces the felon's coat model from the base game. But I can not figure out why they conflict... What I get is that the Selkirk's model from W2DAO gets overwritten by ULA, but for no reason I can fathom using the tools (TlkEdit, GDApp, GFF) Strange. The model variation of one is 23, and the other (that cancels it out) is 184. Both base item is 9. Any ideas why this happens? I also find that another armor (Vran's, model variation 20) gets over written by a basic leather set! Why?
  15. Thanks! That looks like a great tutorial. Will review tonight. I have all those utilities. The Vael btw is unibody, which makes the transfer easier imo, as I don't have to worry about matching boots, gloves, etc. But I'd like to retain the original name (otherwise I might as well just add with the Console). Maybe that tutorial will help me figure out the bigger issue, which is how to make ALL leather armor models look less gladiatorial, and more medieval (like the fantastic Witcher gear) Thanks for the very useful referral
  16. Hi, I am trying to figure out a way to change the in-game appearance of a leather armor variant to a added mod. Example: I want to have Battledress of the Provacateur look like the Vael armor (from Kirkwall imports I believe). I have tried using the Toolset - which does alter the appearance, but also changes the name to Vael family Armor, which I don't want. Any suggestions? Another project is to alter ALL the (hideous looking) leather armour models to those of the Witcher 2 models. Again, any suggestions to change the base model appearance, so that ALL armors across the game changes look? I am basically trying to affect widespread changes, rather than having to change the .uit file of every person in the game (like Improved Atmosphere does). Thanks for help and suggestions
  17. The ONE thing I feel would make this game sooo much better is the removal of the ridiculous low random drop rate of endgame gear once you reach the Everfall or Bitterblack island. Almost instantly the game goes from very dynamic interesting fighting, epic boss battles, to,.... MMO style gear grind, which changes the game from very entertaining to massively frustrating. To the point of breaking any immersion you might have experienced up to that point, as you either have to redo the same areas over and over and over again to hopefully get a good drop from a chest, or (more likely) kill yourself over and over and over again with godsbane to get the correct drop from a chest. Who in their right mind could have come up with this unbelievably stupid mechanic at the final stages of a single player game. Who could have been so dense as to think that people in this genre want to grind gear?? It has changed my opinion of the game from "great" to "can't wait to be done with it", and from thinking about another playthrough to giving it a terrible review on Steam. Idiots
  18. Any keen artists out there that might be able to remove the Bitterblack level 3 Oblivion and Shadow set tussles that make the sets look kind of weird. In fact, am I alone in finding all the bitterblack armors very disappointing, and in fact somewhat revolting to look at? All those grotesque masks, face coverings, claw like feet on leggings,... I really feel they could have done so much better with THE endgame armors. Some of the early sets (surcoats, golden lion padding, etc) look so good by comparison
  19. Is it possible (i.e. will there be no disastrous consequences) to: 1. edit a mod in CK (via MO), say, add a new outfit using the mod resources and equip this outfit to a few NPCs; 2. use TES5Edit (also via MO) to overwrite this aspect (the outfit from another mod) in a mod further down the load order that does other imoportant NPC changes (e.g. the look of NPCs). Will this work? I get the message that this will add the file as a master - does this amtter? Thanks
  20. Just to report I did find the perfect mod for this at some other site which shall remain unmentioned here. Call A... Adventures, it allows the Dragonborn the opportunity to get to know some people (27 in total opportunities) better, without having to get Mara's blessing on the whole affair. Life in Skyrim is harsh, and the Dragonborn does get lonely sometimes. No need for "dirty"mods to use this mod btw
  21. Thanks in advance for any suggestions offered! I installed Bijin Warmaidens, Bijin Wifes and BTRH Waifu for my current (new) playthrough. I use UFO, ASIS, Deadly Combat, Deadly Dragons, Frostfall and Immersive College of Winterhold (amongst others) that alter gameplay. The issue I seem t be getting is that the ASIS patcher will use UFO's settings for these NPCs and override the armor and sometimes facial changes they are meant to be doing. I have turned UFO off during the SkyProc JAR process, which has been helpful, but some of the other gameplay mods also change things about these NPC meshes (e.g. Apachii hair from Immersive College). So, my question: is it SAFE to use TES5Edit to override and resolve these conflicts? Is there a better way? Thanks
  22. Thanks. Link? Direction? Cheers PS - I am not after adult-only graphical scenes
  23. One of the things I found really great in the Bioware games is the ability to pursue relationships with travelling companions, without the need for long-term commitment. After all, if you are on a quest to save the world, with a high likelihood of death in the process, would you really think getting married would be a good thing? Leave little orphans, and a grieving wife behind? So, I ask if someone has thought of, or will consider, looking into a mod that will give the main character the ability to have a non-binding relationship ("share my bedroll/tent", "feel like warming me for the night", etc.) with your travelling companions. This is mainly for immersion, as you might really start liking a companion, but might be commitment averse, as you want to focus on the task at hand, and spare your companion the hurt that might come from being a widow - I am not asking for graphics of the deeds you do in the dark. (The PC-Leliana relationship in Dragon Age Origin is my bench mark - there was always that "Let's retire to my tent" type conversation topic during the quest after winning her over, but no binding commitment was required). Thanks for considering
  24. I find it immersion breaking that, to give a few random examples of unrealistic game mechanics, : 1. I get asked, as ArchMage - to cleanse the focal points of the College, because my "unique skills" (which I believe is a sarcastic comment) - this after I saved the College from extinction... 2. I have to do all the menial animal slaying quests, etc. from the Companion "leaders", AFTER I am Harbinger. An honorary title I presume... 3. I have to do the rebuilding of the Thieves Guild all by myself, while the other thieves lounge around the ratway getting high on skooma and mead, AFTER I restored most of the guild's reputation in the major cities. SO, I would like to ask if someone talented (gifted really imho), could apply their unique talents and turn these 'honorary titles of leadership' into real leadership roles. For example, it would be great to say "perhaps Vilkas & Farkas can handle that for us", or "send the twins", or "Sapphire seems to have some extra time on her hands right now", or "I taught J'Zargo that particular technique, so I suggest you ask him, as I have more important affairs occupying my time at present", or "this can easily be managed by the lower ranks, or do you expect me to all the work by myself Vex? Seriously, when last did YOU venture out...?". At least the Winterhold Improvements, or Immersive College of Wintehold mods (not sure which one) gives you the option to make Tolfdir the Archmage (which doesn't seem to change anything else), but the other faction leadership roles are seriously underdone by Bethesda. Even the change of title to something like "Champion (or Hand) of the Companions", 'Agent Provocateur of the Thieves Guild", "Master Wizard at Large (or Battle Wizard) of the CoW" would be a great improvement. Anyone else ever feel like it would be great to either have that executive power to SEND others on missions, or decline the ultimate role, but still be revered for services rendered? PS: I would be happy to be involved in writing snappy or pithy replies to those nonsensical radiant quests, if anybody would be interested in taking this on
