  1. I can't be the only one who has noticed how offensively ugly and out of place the various motivational posters you see in every single building and facility are. With their bland, single-colour backgrounds and no-effort clip-art designs. They're straight-up demotivational and only makes the overall aesthetic of the game worse through their cheapness and style that clash with everything else. Worse yet, given that Starfield isn't Fallout (entirely) the sardonic tone they convey was probably entirely unintentional. Literally anything would be better than having to see these everywhere. The fact that you can't find a facility without motivational posters also implies that the future is a horrible, hopeless dystopia where they put these up just to remind workers not to off themselves, which is not what I imagine Bethesda intended with the setting. I implore anyone who feel the same way and has the necessary skill and/or ideas to change them into something better fitting the game. And if they can't be replaced, could they at least be replaced with empty .png's so that they vanish entirely? Example:
  2. I cannot for the life of me understand how there are 4k textures/model replacers for everything from giant toes to ants, but none for the alcohol which the nords spend so much of their time talking about. Every guard will tell you how he would be a lot warmer and a lot happier with a belly full of mead, but the mead itself is a misshapen, uninviting brown mess with a label that looks like it was fished right out of the sea (and either blank or with crayola scribbles that doesn't inspire confidence). It's even worse when you know that extremely popular brands like Honningbrew Meadery and Black-Briar Mead would be able to afford decent quality bottles and labels for their products, which can be found in the halls of Jarls. Yes there are a few texture mods and while leaps and bounds above the vanilla bottles and labels, there are really none I would consider to be the of same standard as something scratch-made. I'm really hoping someone will glance at this and think, "Hey, this sounds like an overlooked part of the game" because they'd be right. With the amount of alcohol the nords drink, isn't it time their love for the drinks is displayed through the quality of their containers? To anyone reading this - thanks for considering.
  3. Sadly mighty zog, a retexture and a standalone is not the same thing. And it is a standalone version of the vault suit I would like to have in the game, not a recolor which replaces the existing suits.
  4. Pretty much as straight forward and simple as the title suggests. I would very much like to see a basic vault suit added to the game as a stand-alone item, preferably with its own texture file so that I might be able to retexture it (for personal use). If someone decides that this is doable and would like to make something more of it, different color options like simple brown leather, army green and institute white would also be fantastic. I am fully aware that there is a mod which adds 42 craftable vault suits to the game, but it is simply too much and too elaborate compared to what I am asking. I'm only looking for a very simple stand alone vault suit. Thank you very much to whoever might consider this request.
  5. This was posted when the creation kit was not yet out. Rather than make a new thread I thought; why not use the existing one to see if anyone might be interested in this request now.
  6. I am wondering if it would it be possible to make paintjobs that add things like scorch-marks from plasma impacts or bullet dents to the power armours of the commonwealth? Most of the paintjobs you can apply as well as the vanilla textures make the armours look very new and unscathed. I think it would be nice if it was possible to make custom paintjobs with the paint peeling, visible dents and scratches that aren't necessarily symmetrical. To make the armours look more scavenged and properly weathered. It could potentially add a much more "used" and rough-and-tumble look to the power armours. In pictures from the first Fallout games, even the armours used by the BoS have visible paint chipping and extensive surface damage. It's a wonder it hasn't been made before. Here's Scribe Cabbot's t-51b power armour for reference. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/9/9c/FO01_NPC_Cabbot_N.png/revision/latest?cb=20110320025117
  7. Yeah Mottul and lilkandeekid, the CK is probably close to completion so I hope someone will consider this.
  8. After getting hold of the (only) submachine gun in the game, I was disappointed to find out that the only type of magazine available for it were drums. Perhaps it would be possible for some kind soul to give the gun the classic long magazine to make it more like the variant used in WW2 (less ammo, but also less weight) Of course, the front grip would need a change too for the transformation to be complete, and that would probably mean the animation for holding the submachinegun would need to be changed as well, so I assume this would be something for after the CK comes out. In any case here's hoping someone thinks about it, as well as an image for reference. http://i.imgur.com/Fz25ljD.jpg
  9. Great find, not sure why that didn't show up when I searched for it. Hope someone gives the garand a go as well.
  10. Is there any chance someone might be able to recreate the M1 Garand rifle (known as "This Machine" in Fallout New Vegas) or the M1 carbine? Possibly when the mod kit finally comes out? It feels like it would make sense to see them littered around the game world considering the prevalence of the weapons in the 1950's Thanks for reading.
  11. I support it, even if it's just a skeleton wearing the metal skin of the horse.
  12. How about adding light to the combat armor helmet so it functions like the T-60 power armor helmet or a mining helmet, since it has the same built-in lamp? And maybe a visor (like the FO1, 2, and NV had) so your face isn't completely unprotected? Or at least for the upgraded versions of the armor, to mirror the "reinforced" variant.
  13. I was toying with the idea of making a character who, before the bombs fell, might have been a professional boxer. Straight out of the fridge it would only be natural that he picked up where he left off. But when I actually got my hand on a boxing glove, it turned out to be just that, ONE glove. I was hoping that maybe someone would be interested in making it so that equipping a boxing glove gives you a mirrored copy on your other hand? After all, it makes no sense to only wear one. They come in pairs for a reason. If this sounds like something someone would like to take a crack at, I'd also suggest perhaps making a pair of boxing shorts to match, for the full experience. Something like the picture below perhaps. At the General Atomics Galleria within the game there is a boxing ring, that would be the perfect place to put a pair (in a locker or perhaps for sale from the robots once the place is restored as part of the quest in the area) http://resources.sport-tiedje.com/bilder/lonsdale/3534_pro_shorts_emb_schwarz_detail.jpg
  14. I was a little shocked to find that the game only has one single submachine gun the (frankly underpowered) tommy gun. While the ability to turn the 10mm pistol into an automatic version is nice, it still doesn't really fill the gap between single shot and automatic rifle in my heart. So, I'm just curious to know if anyone reading these forums is planning on making some new submachine guns when the modding tools come out, like the trusty old 10mm that has been in every single iteration of the Fallout universe until now, for example. If so, let it be known that there's at least one submachine gun fan who would be very thankful.
  15. This is something I really want. I guess bethesda assumed no one would ever play the game in 3rd person so why bother, but they forgot that you can see all the NPC's who seem to suddenly pull guns and sledgehammers out their behinds. Would be nice knowing what kind of firepower an enemy packs before engaging.
