  1. Just saying...its great people are pouring energy and creativity into mod and its better than the T&A mods Bethesda games are normally flooded with (not that its a problem just it gets overloaded sometimes) but I am good naturedly feeling a bit of Star Wars fatigue and yearning for people to do other franchises as inspiration. Not saying you should do Thunderbolts or something obscure but more Expanse themed, Star Trek themed, power armor themed, hell with vehicles maybe mecha soon? but no we get a *sigh* land speeder. Okay and the Warthog! Still....some morediversity would be nice.
  2. I refuse to do it manually ever again after having sufferred through Oblivion, Fallout 3, and New vegas. We were crying out for mod managers with version control, installation safety, checks. and now we have unbelievably some masochists who want go back...my actual feeling about you having sufferred through that are probably best kept to myself..Anyhow, if it ain't going to be usable without a mod manager then really it DOES require an update. I also after the last few updates kept having vendor related issues with StarUI inventory where I could not exit. We all know the issues with STarUI Builder and empt habs. Yes there have been external fixes but I am also still having huge performance issues with it when those performance issues are not present without StarUI. No. I am looking for UI mods besides StarUI that have been recently updated.
  3. With StarUI being woefully out of date and the author not having been active for about 6 months now, I am wondering if anyone can suggest an alternative that is working currently or is in development? Covering inventory, ship building, workshop menus, outpost building.
  4. TLDR for the comprehension starved right here: Company make product. Company not make product for mods. Company only responsible for product. Company not care about whether fixing or updating product breaks mods because they only need to care about actual product. Also. No I am not smarter than anyone else...but by the way you alone can't comprehend....welll.....that's more a comment on you than about me.
  5. jeeez I feel like I am in the hell of short term memory people. People said that when Oblivion launched, People said that when Skyrim launched. People said that when Fallout 4 launched. *Yawn* you know people always seem to slag something that it will never reaches the heights of its precedecessor and then conveniently forget that they said anything of the sort when it equals or surpasses. I am petty and then mock them years later because I am cursed with a perverse affliction of finding exactly this and mocking the purveyors of said thinking. I have mocked BSG fans, Doctor Who fans, Star Trek OS fans, Morrowind fans, Fallout 3 fans, Oblivion fans, and so on. so I have you on my list now and will mock you probabnly in 3 years.
  6. I am posting this because people seem to be under some delusions of the importance of mods to game companies. So I am reposting this: Mods by their nature are unofficial noncommercial additions, tweaks, and repurposing of a commerical product. Bethesda is a business. A business that is beholden to shareholders. Even with arguments how mods lengthen or add sales to a product; none of that shows up in a revenue report or will be accounted for by shareholders or in Bethesda's case your corporate accounting teams at Microsoft. Any changes Bethesda makes if for their own additional content or to fix issues with their current content. They will not, should not, and cannot worry about mods. Understand this. The fact that people even think Bethesda should be considering mods beyond giving tools vastly exposes how naive and ignorant most people are not just of the game industry but just corporate impetuses as a whole. As a modder understand, you are essentially always jailbreaking something even with official tools. You are breaking warranty. You are unofficial. You may add value but it will never be ever represented directly in any part of business decisions. So Bethesda owes you nothing but to have a working core product. They will nto and should not be considering the millions of way you may tweak, break, and repurpose code, systems, and assets in their game. You are not entitled to any consideration. As a mod user understand this too. Accept that and then embrace that. Another embarassing and idiotic thing I have seen is when mod users expect mod authors to address the millions of ways their games are modded and then somehow have some way to get diagnostic information from " Mod doesn't work. FIX!". There have been repeated ways to troubleshoot from disabling half of your mods and so on to isolate the conflict or using sf1edit for keyword heavy mods to get potential load order snafus. There's levels of delusion. Always get the details right. Understand the context.
  7. I did not purge or reset. Sometimes it will just reorder on its own. there are times I will start a game (without checking Vortex), I get either a crash and/or infinite save loading and then I will see that my load order has gone into alphabetical order with no input from me. I am assuming that sometimes the load order on startup will be reordered. A notification of this event somewhere in the interface would at least help with troubleshooting issues.
  8. SBC= Ship Builder Categories. I also hate Chevy's.
  9. *yawn* This is all deja vu from Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, 4. Wake me up when someone has something actually original to post on this. We'll all laugh and jeer at this topic in about a year and a half. In 2 years, someone is going to roll their eyes on the pure short term memory on display. In 5 years, when the next Elder Scrolls comes out, the cycle of stupid repeats again.
  10. Copying this over from a community post. Also yeah Vortex and its stupid auto alphabetical ordering is messing things up. OKay. Not going to like this. Tried everything to get this mod to work with TN AIO ship + Derretech +Junk In your Trunk + Place Your Door. Gave up and just installed the less dependencies version of TN + Derretech + Place Your Door. Lost Junk and thrusters but my ships no longer hollow out and I don't lose default habs, weapons, or get infinite loading. I still have to keep a certain load order (using sf1edit to help on that) but its not as sensitive. So my solution right now is not to use SBC if you ahve certain combinations of ship mods.

  12. This has continued to cause issues which I have to continually reorder after every restart of Vortex. If we do not have actual record/edit based sorting then could we also have an option to turn off alphabetical sorting? Hell could there be an option to save load orders; which would make troubleshooting less of a chore?
  13. Okay this is another instance of this happenning. It's happenning to me and to someone else in another thread. LOOT does not sort anymore in its latest version. I have been trying to use sf1edit to figure out a load order but the habs are still disappearing in the ship builder and categories are not showing up. I am looking at the combination of Place Your Door, TN's Ship mods, and Derretech being the culprits in regards to load order.
  14. You are all misunderstanding him. He is saying that in the shipbuilder the Derretech and Tn mods are no longer registering. I have the same issue with normal habs disappearing and ship builder interface issues with everything correctly configured. Try the combination of TN's ship mods, Derretech and Ship Builder Categories, throw in all the potential patches too. IF it works once. go to the load order function change around the order of the mods. Go back to the Ship builder function and then VOILA ! your habs and the Derretech and tn categories in the ship builder interface are gone. It seems that load order is very important with the combination of TN, Derretech, and Ship Builder Categories. The new Load order function in Vortex is disrupting load order and just placing everything alphabetically which is causing categories to disappear in the ship builder interface which in turn is destroying existing habs on ships as well. We really need somone or something to give us a good sort for our plugins but neither LOOT or Vortex is risking that I guess. Would sf1edit be useful in creating some sorting order?
