  1. http://i.imgur.com/VQOhxpB.png All my settings after music (aside from birds of skyrim, I haven't tried to change it) revert back to their default values after I close my game. How do I get them to stay? I don't even know what mod put them there. I can't find an ini file and I dont know the uid's to add them to skyrimprefs. A fix would be greatly appreciated.
  2. this doesn't happen all over the place, but some objects seem foggy/shadowy, you can see in the contrast between the rocks and tree in this picture. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=891523806 What is going on? I've disabled my lighting mods and ao in my gpu settings and it still happened to a degree. Looking for a mod or tweak to fix the problem, I'll have no problems running whatever may fix it. I'm not using an enb.
  3. Well I literally have every performance mod I should need, also many game tweaks that should not alter performance, that's the majority of the mods. What are my performance heavy mods so I can take a few out? I'm going to change my resolution to 720p right now. Edit: I now see my resolution got reverted to 1080... I did have it set to 1600x900, but it gave me now problems in the past (well besides 20fps max).
  4. If you noticed my resolution is lower, 1600:900, the video card has performed surprisingly well, I previously ran with 240ish mods and had times where it didn't crash at all, but low fps and if it did crash it was usually repeated, also my mods are mostly small, very few script mods, at least none that run constantly. Most of my mods should improve stability, performance, or change a minor game mechanic, there's a few texture mods and run of the mill stuff, like cot, but nothing heavy. I don't understand that. Is there an actual problem running at 1600x900? There shouldn't be, I'm pretty sure you can choose that resolution via the vanilla launcher. I don't want to go back to 1920x1080, I gained a lot of fps and the quality is negligible.
  5. Hello, I'm back into skyrim modding. I played on my old unstable-ish profiles for a day or so and got sick of 12fps and crashing. The crashes could go stable for a few hours then crash multiple times in minutes, normally in combat or exploration. I decided to rebuild everything and I thought it had gone very well, but although I haven't created a legitimate savefile, and only made a test character to run around, I haven't gotten it to run for more than 10 minutes. I'm totally lost right now. I have every form of diagnosis you can imagine and still can't find a reason. Someone who is more experienced with this needs to help, I'm at the point of a breakdown lol. My laptop is a dell inspiron 15-7548, new last year. Intel i5-5200u 2.2GHz 6Gb RAM Intel (integrated) hd graphics 5500 (I decided to pull my specs from dxdiag, it says 3Gb VRAM, but I thought it was 1Gb, it might be shared, I don't remember) I've got Windows 10 running about as high performance as it can get, put a lot of time into optimization. Modlist: All dirty mods and masters cleaned Skyrimprefs.ini: Skyrim.ini: Papyrus Native files only creating errors? Memory Blocks log end line: 256 188 (1280 and 256 set max in skse.ini) Skyrim Performance Monitor screenshot I am happy with the performance of this setup, went up to about 30fps, even at Solitude Docks, I just crash now :/ It doesn't appear to be a memory problem, but I don't think I can see VRAM in realtime. As far as RAM and what the game is using, if it never peaked above 2Gb, then my system isn't overloaded. I'm totally stumped. I'll continue to test a little bit more.
  6. I'm having a lot of trouble turning some powers off. Vampiric Night eye, modified by Better Vampires in my case (infinite use, no cooldown), will always turn back on or back off a few seconds after I press the button. It does it whether I use a hotkey or manually by selecting the power and pressing Z. It usually takes a second or 2 for the initial action to start, I've noticed considerable lag while feeding, opening certain menus, etc. I've noticed this lag before, but it's never bothered me until it started messing up my powers. The one time I fixed it for a short time was going into Anise's cellar, pcb, save, reload. It obviously has something to do with script lag, I'll do everything I know to fix that like pcb and cleaning my save, but I don't know much else. Any other tips? This is a brand new save, so far it's been very stable, fps is a solid 30 (its a laptop). Edit: I've started by returning most of my Papyrus settings in Skyrim.ini to default or conservatively modified. The previous settings were less than ideal.
  7. It's been working pretty well on my new character, but there's still an occasional creature that doesn't want to fight... If you just gave me a solution already I may me slightly upset my game is even harder, but so overjoyed I get to kill s*** instead of stare at it. Edit: It does not have Undead which I have the most universal problem with, but great mod!
  8. I have SkyUI, quick menus, and quick loot, interface is pretty smooth, except for the occasional vanilla popup menu that you have to use the mouse for. It doesn't help that I don't have a computer desk or a good mouse. I'd really like to at least navigate these with A and D and select with E, that would simplify everything. In case you don't know which menu I'm talking about, I've got a screenshot, Better Vampires was the only one I could think of because I see it EVERY time I loot a corpse. Quick menus doesn't even pop up until I extract blood or feed. http://i.imgur.com/TaGzEVC.png
  9. I have a problem where some creatures don't attack me, I've looked and looked , but can't figure out why, player.addfaction <###> -1 does nothing, I don't know what to do. It could have something to do with my vamparism, but that doesn't explain why changing faction relationships don't work. I have a lot of mods, it's likely some sort of conflict. What if a mod were to be made that is loaded at the end of the load order, overriding all mods that could possibly change creatures behavior towards the player, making aggression just like it is in a vanilla game. I haven't noticed any mod specific creatures behaving incorrectly, but individual patches could be made, or if aggression is grouped in factions it may cover some of those added in mods. To expand upon it, MCM menus could be used to check which creatures are affected and turn some off, if need be. Alternatively, the mod could render the creatures which are turned off via a menu to be automatically passive instead of relying on information from a mod higher in the load list or vanilla Skyrim. The way the game sets up aggression does seem very sloppy, regulating it in one area would be a major cleanup, simplifying the game mechanic. I do hope someone picks up on this because dealing with mods like this, especially with MCM menus is well beyond what I know currently.
  10. That would make a lot of sense. I could try the nifskope route, but that sounds like a hard place to start because I as well haven't modded in years and I never got deep into it. I don't know of any mods that change the reticule, I did look... If anybody knows some please tell me.
  11. When I look down the scope of a sniper rifle my chance of hit is really just pure luck because I can't ever see my reticule. I want to retexture this so it will contrast against the target. Its 4am, idk why I'm up. I looked through the files and I can't find anything amidst my mods. I need a little help to find the texture the guns are using for their reticule. I can do this on my own, I just need a kickstart, plus I'm tired and braindead. My goal is just a simple retexture, no esp's, no incompatiblities. Just point me to the file, I'll owe you one.
  12. Just an update, I'm still having problems crashing. I've also found a bug where anything using a weapon like an assault rifle sometimes shoots straight up instead of at the target, npc's do it and my character will do it in VATS. Not sure if its affecting me during normal shooting, sometimes it does feel like I should be hitting my target and I'm not. Here's my current load order, no different, but cleaned.
  13. Those are just the redundancies I cleaned out. I didn't delete them before I knew the game ran correctly, deleting them now. What are the instructions you gave me? That's pretty much all stuff I've done already. So, aside from deleting everything I'm not sure what's wrong now, I know I'm probably not perfect, but I'm at the point where it's hard to figure out exactly whats wrong.
  14. Ok I'm working on getting all the compatibility patches now, getting rid of redundancies, I'll clean up the load order a bit, we'll see if that fixes my merged patch issue. I'll be back if I have any problems. You guys have been a big help so far, thanks a lot! Edit: FO3edit still doesnt want to give me a merged patch. I went ahead and tried using what it gives me anyway, but now it's getting to the last mod and stopping, no messages after that, but it behaves as if it's done. It also won't run a master update, it says error still. I guess I'm not golden yet... here's what I've got now. Much smaller now lol Edit 2: Still crashing :/
