  1. I wanted this too for a while. I think we could make an interesting mechanic with this, and, rather than make it a boring linear progression, give a reason to keep a weaker reliable weapon over a sharp but weak one. That is, if I were to make the mod, I would give weapons like glass and elven higher damage but lower durability, while ebony>skyforge steel>daedric>steel. That being said, I found another mod that makes me rely less on weapons, but for a different reason. Equipping Overhaul is making my day playing on a Legendary game - I end up ditching most of the weapons I get, and found that I buy weapons that are okay but expendable, rather than running around with the same god sword for the entire game. It seems much more believable that someone would go to a blacksmith and pick up a few mediocre weapons expecting to lose them in battle, knowing that the pretty Daedric f*#@axe of Extreme World Destroying is going to end up getting ditched anyway.
  2. I always end up playing a female character in any game where character customization is an option because no matter how long I spend tweaking a male character, I'm never satisfied with how the male character looks, but it's easy to be satisfied with how a female looks. For a similar reason, in my game development attempts, most of the important characters in the game including the main character are female because I cannot get myself to spend hours upon hours sketching and modelling a cool male character, but I can easily do that for a female character. One of the short stories I wrote in my first year at my first university for a competition landed something like 3rd place, and it was a reverse-chronological story about a character committing suicide to prevent the spread of a disease, and when people asked me about it, the most common question was "If you're a straight male, why is the main character a female?", to which I had to explain "The character was originally male but I was never satisfied with how the character turned out, so I rewrote the story for a female character and it worked out". As for immersion, I have no trouble becoming immersed in a game even though the character does not resemble me. However, I'm used to writing, where I must enter the head of someone in a completely different world and consider every character's point of view or the dialogue will look forced and suspension of disbelief will break down. There's a citation mine for psychologists somewhere in here.
  3. Favorite vanilla game is Khajiit, favorite with mods is Nord
  4. I was wandering around at night in the middle of nowhere with no weapons or armor (had been going around from place to place selling s#*!, just finished at markarth, got caught pickpocketing and ran for it), and I heard something squealing and crying. I went to see what the squealing noise was, expecting it to be a random sound or something, and it was an elk - a growing green elk in the middle of the night, nothing nearby on the map, no spriggans in sight, no nothing. It's bad enough that this happened at night when I had no weapons or armor with me, but to make matters worse, I was playing with an oculus rift, so I was pretty freaked out when it started charging at me. I gave it a breath full of fire and looted it to find that it was just an elk. Whenever I try to wait or fast travel, the game says "You cannot (wait/fast travel) while dead." The only mods I have on are a few clothing mods, DG body, Jswords, Immersive Weapons, and Immersive First-Person. So, I alt tabbed and decided to post this because I am going to need a strong drink before I carry on. Has anyone ever had something like this happen?
  5. Hi, When I start a new character, my magicka will be 110 and green, but my health and stamina will be both 90 and red respectively. As the title suggests, there are no active effects on any of the characters, but it happens anyway. GetAVinfo says it's a permanent drop starting at 10. As I progress through the game, the drop gets worse - at level 20, the drop is over half my health. I usually just forceav the health, stamina, and magicka to what they should be, but it gets extremely irritating because I haven't been able to identify when the values switch back to the afflicted values. I have had this problem since I purchased Dragonborn, along with being unable to absorb dragon souls, and no matter how hard I try to use unofficial skyrim patches and fix load orders and such, both problems still persist. I also tried disabling any mod or SKSE plugin that might be affecting health to no avail. That being said, the health issue is much more irritating than the dragon soul issue. Does anyone know how I might fix it? Is there something I can do in console to undo whatever the hell could be causing this?
