  1. I did find another video that shows how to view UVs in Nifskope, but something is different. The video is for Skyrim (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u51yDEGzmQ), and shows NiTrishape nodes, but in the FO4 nifs, all I see are BsTrishapes, and I have no UV options when I right-click.
  2. Thanks Pepperman, but those videos aren't getting me there either.
  3. I'm not very conversant in Nifskope. Can you point me in the right direction?
  4. Not sure that gets me where I need to be. The ComicBurnt mesh doesn't have any material swaps. I guess my question should be, how can I create a material swap using a different image in the matrix?
  5. Hello All, I'm trying to retexture some of the vanilla stuff for my own use, and am having some trouble. Some texture files have multiple image areas in them, which are used by different meshes. For example, MagazineBurnt_d.dds has 6 areas in it, which are used by different meshes; ComicBurnt01, 02, and 03. I want to create some more of these comics, but how do I tell which section of the dds the mesh is going to use? Hope that makes sense. Thanks!
  6. Hello All, I'm pretty sure this was working before, but now it's not. I have a ton of presets installed, and they all work on my female player character. They also work on Personal Bodyguards from that mod. But when I try them on a female settler, they only sorta work. The face will change in some way, but not the hair, body, makeup, etc. It's odd. I only have one mod that was affecting settler looks, and I disabled that, but no change. Any ideas?
  7. Solved. I was using the one-click install. I switched to custom install location and I'm successfully installed.
  8. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that didn't make a difference. Same error. There is an "ignore" option, but clicking that makes Windows search for the file, which is eventually not found. It asks if I want to delete the shortcut, I say yes, then it just goes away. So I try to install Vortex again, and I'm back at the beginning of the maze. No cheese for me.
  9. Hello All, I am trying to uninstall Vortex, the drive where it was installed no longer exists, but Windows thinks it's still there, and won't let me install a new copy. Whenever I try to use the uninstall function under Win 10 apps and features, it tells me the folder doesn't exist, and gives me no other options. Help!
  10. You were right, Striker. Looks like the real culprit is OneNote. That's where I was doing my edits. I can copy from Notepad and paste into the terminal text area just fine. Thanks for the replies, folks!
  11. Thanks for the reply. So far, the only field I can't paste into is the main text area for terminals. I've been able to copy and paste into other fields. Weird.
  12. Hello All, It's been a while since I used the CK much, but when I did previously, I had no trouble pasting text into different text fields. Well now I'm trying to edit some of the terminals in the wasteland. I can type text in, no problem, and save the terminal. But pasting simply doesn't work. Ctrl-V doesn't work, Ctrl-Shift-V doesn't work. I found one very old thread here about it, and someone said Ctrl-Shift-V did the trick for them, but it's not working now. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks!
  13. I'm using vortex to manage mods, and F4SE as launcher. I was using the unlimited companion framework, and some other companion mods. One of them allowed me to make a Personal Guard Radio, which allowed me to make a custom bodyguard/companion. Well, now there's an invisible companion out there somewhere that I tried to dismiss, bit the game still thinks it's traveling with me. I got rid of the Unlimited Companions mod, and another called NPC and Companions Workshop, but the Personal Guard Radio is still there and active, and I still have an invisible companion. I tried searching mods for Personal and bodyguard and radio, but nothing is coming up. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks!
  14. Awesome! Thanks very much for the tips! Saved my sanity (my hair is already gone).
  15. Is there a way to keep from selecting lights like MistLargeRoundDusty when you're trying to select non-light objects? It's very frustrating.
  16. I loaded FO4Edit and it shows only a very small amount of data in my custom esp. I sure hope it didn't get wiped out.
  17. Not sure I understand. Which records do I need to delete and from where. I don't think I modified the esm, but things were kind of wonky so I don't really know.
  18. The problem I get is that the creation kit loads, but my custom esp isn't loading, even though it's selected and set as active file. There is no CreationKitCustom.ini in my fallout4 folder, only CreationKit.ini and CreationKitPrefs.ini in the ck.ini I added the following I got from another thread. bLoadMultipleMasterFiles=1bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1bAllowMultipleEditors=1 In the screen where I select the master and active files, when I select my custom esp, it shows, as I mentioned before, fallout4.esm and dlcworkshop01.esm as the masters. So, dlcworkshop01.esm gets selected automatically when I try to load fo4.esm and my custom esp.
  19. Hello All, I've modded my game quite a bit via the CK, mostly adding bilboards signs, etc. I created my own ESP so the main ESM wasn't affected. I was looking for some lettering to place in the CK, and found it in the DLCWorkshop01 esm. I found the letters and added a few as a test. Well, now I can't properly load my custom esp, none of the changes I've made over the last year are loading now. And my custom esp now shows two masters when I select it, fallout4.esm and dlcworkshop01.esm. Ok, I figured if I got rid of those items I placed, maybe it would start working properly again. Nope. Any idea how to revert this? Thanks!
  20. Tried this in an area out in the commonwealth, not inside a settlement. Didn't work. Not sure which workshop value I link it to, there are several. Can you post a screenshot, or give exact values? Thanks!
  21. Does anyone know of a way to cross reference a character's (or NPC's) voice files with the associated string? I want to change some of the in-game dialog, but finding out who says what is extremely tedious. I know I can search in the ILstrings table with Translator, but many NPCs say the same things. I want to know whether I'm changing the dialog for a male char vs a female char and vice versa. Through a lot of trial and error, I've been able to find a few sound files that correspond to string files, but the IDs of each seem to have no relation to each other. I realize these are unique identifiers for each item, but there has to be a relationship table somewhere. Thanks!
  22. Awesome thanks! I wasn't selecting a high enough level when filtering.
  23. Hello All, I'm hoping to duplicate some of the paintings objects, the ones you can place while in the workshop, but I can't locate them anywhere in the Creation Kit. Anyone know where these are hidden? Thanks!
