  1. Anyone else tried this with a 15 level increase? It is really, really difficult. I tried without any smithing, enchanting, alchemy - basically just wearing stock armor - I really get beat up a lot and need LOTS of healing potions to just stay alive :-) Ancient Vampires are or a bunch on Forsworn dual wielders are just deadly. It actually feels like the game it should be on master difficulty - it's possible, but really tough. What amazes me the most is how much damage I take in fight while even having armor on 400+. Usually by this point you have easily above 600 and some enchantments and this seems to be a huge difference (I am on level 42 now = 27 for real).
  2. I played on yesterday, keeping the 15 level increase - it's possible to play, but damn hard :-) I really needed to use the weak AI on a lot of occasions to get through, gaining points here and there to level up 3 times ,now level 23=8. I also avoid gaining points with smithing/alchemy and so on, so pure gains from actually playing the game as a one handed fighter with archery/sneaking mixed in (otherwise I didn't see how to beat anyone at all, need ranged combat as you die to quickly in melee).. With this I could actually beat a couple of bandits at Valtheim Towers and finally the Draugr with the Dragon Stone by running around this hall all time shooting like 100+ arrows to take him down :-) I also for first time used a race bonus of my redguard (adrenaline rush), which was nice. I never bothered before as you win easily without using it - now you really need to use all that there is. It's definitely a huge challenge with this setup of +15, bordering on frustrating at times. I guess maybe 10 or 8 levels is a more balanced way to try.
  3. I'd like to hear about your progress. 15 levels were maybe a bit too much for my abilities. Maybe I could do it, but I would need to really progress slowly fight by fight to get some perks in order to compete against decent opposition. Yesterday I managed to get to level 20 (=5), but stand no chance in Bleak Falls Barrow (Troll I could avoid by running :-), but final Draugr impossible), first quest of the Companions (Valtheim Bandit Leader) seems hopeless, also first Potema quest I get killed in the first fight all the time, same as first civil war quest for the imperials. I guess 15 was a tad optimistic :-)
  4. Thanks for this great hint on how to make the game harder! I started a new game yesterday and used player.advlevel 15 times to basically start at Level 16 when leaving Helgen. It was insanely difficult to even beat the simplest (... on the surface at least...) opposition. I also used 'Master' Level in addition. In fact for my playing abilities this seems even too much as you have basically no chance against 3 enemies at once or bosses. In Bleak Falls Barrow the final Draugr with the Dragon Stone is also close to unbeatable, at least for me. So here's my question: after adding 15 levels, is it possible to maybe cut this back down to 10 for instance? I found out that there is also the player.setlevel command... is this basically doing the same as the add level? So after Helgen player.setlevel 16 for instance equals typing in player.addlevel 15 times? Then I should be able to reduce my level by 5 as well... or is there a problem? I really like the game being a real challenge, but it needs to be adjusted properly I guess.
