  1. One thing that has kept me interested in this game is finding mods which make playing on adept level challenging. Realisim type mods help. I not a fan of just setting the difficulty level to max and hoping that would fix everything and make it more interesting. With this approach I have been able to make playing on adept very challenging. Try using the animations mod. I use this mod only for its drinking animation. Why, because mid combat you can't just spam health potions if you do you will die. these really Try limiting your carry weight, play with no crosshair or HUD.Tweaks such as make you re-think your approach. I have found trying to balance Realisim type mods and still make the game enjoyable very rewarding.
  2. I did not try that but I did manage to find out what was causing the problem for me. I recently decided to install an enb and that is what was blocking me from editing perk trees. I don't know why but it was the only thing I could think of after I did a reinstall of the game and creation kit. I then tried to edit perks with no mods, no problem, next tried it with mods and no problem, Then I installed Phinix ENB and was not able to edit. I searched for a way to disable ENB when the creatin kit was running as the ENB seems to run when the creation kit is active. I found a Mod called ENB Disable for Creation kit and it works for me now.
  3. Is anyone else having trouble using NMM right now I keep getting asked to log in.
  4. Posted this in mod troubleshooting as well, but no replies. When I go to edit the perk trees the only two options available are, Add Perk and Set associated Skill, the rest are greyed out and I am not sure why. Can someone check and see if the other options are available to them.
  5. Title says it all. Most of my options to edit the perk tree are greyed out and I don't know why. I used to be able to. The only thing that has changed is i did a fresh install of Skyrim and the creation kit into a different directory on my hard drive. I can't unsnap to grid or snap to grid, edit perk,etc.. Any suggestions?
  6. Thank you that is what i was looking for. Was not sure if you could just open them up in notepad++.
  7. I am sorry I don't think I understand what you are telling me, are you pointing me to the location where the script is located? If so then I already know where it is. What I am wondering is how I can open it up to veiw how they have written it.
  8. How do I view existing game scripts from the creation kit? I would like to see "DLC1DawnguardItemScript". I have never tried scripting before. In the creation kit I tried to view it, I went to Gameplay<Papyrus script manager, found the script name double clicked on it and I got an error message saying: Windows cannot find C:\Games\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Scripts\Source\DLC1DawnguardItemScript.psc Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. Am I way off base here on what I am doing?
  9. I've always thought a good modification for Marksmanship would be to institute some kind of scatter mechanic which reduces in magnitude as your Marksmanship skill increases. This way sniping isn't as viable a strategy at level 1. You can still get a shot that goes down the middle, but most of the time it's off. Agreed it would be nice if as your archery skill increased so did your chance to actually hit something. Being able to hit everything in site takes all the fun out of it, you never say to yourself ," I wonder if I am going to actually hit my target." It is shoot and hit, rinse and repeat, at pretty much any distance. If such a mod exists please let me know.
  10. Bow and arrow with crosshair has always been good for me, gets way too easy after awhile. Now try playing without the crosshair with bow and arrow, that actually takes some skill. Also disable auto aim and sneak icon. Suddenly being an archer is not so easy. I have just started a new playthrough and it is much more rewarding this way, sometimes a little frustrating when you are use to hitting targets 99% of the time and then only hitting them 50%. I am still learning to aim proper. Also just when I thought I had my aim down I went into sneak mode and had to learn how to aim proper in sneak mode as it changes the way you hold your bow so my aiming system is different for regular and sneak. Everyone who has played as an archer type should give no crosshairs a try, having the crosshairs really makes things too easy.
  11. I encountered this as well on my current playthrough. My archery skill advanced very fast as that is what I was focusing on the most and could kill things quite easily as long as I was at a distance. I had the same issue when I used a one-handed weapon, I could not do nearly as much damage which if you think about it makes alot of sense since you are more proficient in your archery. I don't think that bows are overpowered at all. They are a very deadly weapon history has proven that. I remembered thinking that this is getting too easy and then bam, I enter a dungeon an get slaughtered by bandits. The game cathes up to your skill level eventually. As a test just try using your bow only in a fight in tight spaces with many opponents around you and see how long you last, I did, it did not turn out well see sentence above.
  12. First check and see if your TV can handle that resolution. I thought 1920x1080 was the highest you could go on a 1080p TV. I have had this same problem using HDMI on my TV. The resolution would just not work right with the HDMI cable but no problem with the VGA cable. According to some of my friends who work in the sound industry they say HDMI is evil. How it was explained to me was, it is like a constant fight between the video and sound for priority which screws up the signal even if you use a different audio cable for your sound. Anyway I stopped using it and have had no problems since.
  13. I never had the need to sacrifice anyone until I met Benor from Morthal. I was doing the quest to rescue Thorald from the Thalmor. Anyway when we get inside and start to fight the Thalmor he runs away saying he will be back leaving me to get my ass handed to me. I decide to run away after awhile and as I am running I pass him cowering in a corner with his hands over his head. Needless to say he was dismissed as soon as we got out. Now as soon as I go to visit Boethiah I will have someone that I will not feel bad about terminating.
  14. Try watching this video, gopher does a good job explaining things. You may have already done this but it's worth a shot to make sure all steps have been followed. The video is called "Skyrim Script Extender Installing and running on Skyrim 1.6 or later."
  15. No they are already dead. I just walk up and absorb the dragon soul. I think there might have been a problem with DD so I went through the read me and it was suggested to wait for 16 or 31 day inside an interior cell. I am going to try that and see what happens.
