  1. Is it possible for there to be a mod that shows the total number of your lockpicks while lockpicking when you have over 99 lockpicks? It's annoying seeing 99+ all the time.
  2. A weapon overhaul mod that adds polearm weapons like spears, halberds, pikes, etc. Also makes weapons much more varied in terms of attack animations and function. Pretty much a mod that makes weapons almost exactly like Dark Souls. It'd also be great if the mod could make combat feel less floaty. I hate when you hit an enemy with a sword or a mace especially, and it's as if you were petting them.
  3. Yeah, a diving animation would be great. I always find myself wanting to do a dive whenever I'm on a cliff with water below.
  4. Yeah, you guys were exactly right about that. I knew I had to run the FNIS generator, but I guess I just didn't for some reason. It was all a confusing mess. Everything's working fine now, though. I haven't replied for a week because I eventually just uninstalled all of the animations mods. I played that way for a bit, but then I decided to go back and try to get them working based off of what you guys said to do. But yeah, everything's cool now. Thanks.
  5. I tried the "tcl" command and nothing happened. All it did was stop the carriage from moving. But thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I recently realized I didn't actually install Immersive Animations with all of the prerequisite mods I had to install before hand. I thought that would solve my issue, but it didn't. Still have the same problem. Everyone outside of the carriage acts the same way. If type "tfc" in console to go into the free camera mode, I can see Tullius, Hadvar, and every other NPC just standing in the vitruvian mode. That's how I took that screenshot above, actually. They can still blink and breath, however. Any horse that isn't attached to a carriage is just standing and chilling, although they are able to move their heads and necks around, unlike the humanoids. Could this have to do with the XP32 Maximum Skeleton mod? Or something like FNIS? I don't know. I'm trying to think of things that would just straight up stop the NPCs from moving around and acting out their animations. My character is included in the heap of people clipping in front of that carriage as well. This is what it looks like when the game starts: And here's the updated load order:
  6. I just installed many new mods after several months of not playing Skyrim. As expected, when I launched Skyrim and started a new game, there were issues. I have ran BOSS and have tried disabling certain .esps that might have caused this problem (I might've missed some, though), but nothing has worked so far. Basically, the character models aren't moving. They're in that Vitruvian Man mode, if you know what I mean. So everyone that's in the carriage is just clipping through it near the front (see screenshot). The carriage horses are able to move, though, and when they get to the Helgen gate they just crash into it, because there's no one to open it I guess. It's kind of funny, actually. Anyway, I figured I would make a thread here, just to see if I'm doing something incorrectly or if anyone has an idea what could cause this. Here's my load order:
  7. I completely agree. I was never fond of the recharge system. It's just cumbersome and makes me think of getting ammo for a gun, like Doomhunk said above. I was also thinking about a recharge system for enchanted weapons the other day. It would just make sense if over a period of time your weapon would eventually fully recharge, you know? You already use soul gems to enchant the weapons, so I really think they shouldn't HAVE to be used to recharge weapons too. Of course, like the OP said, you could use them for an instant recharge if you wanted to. I even like the idea that Doomhunk had where your weapon has a percent chance of inflicting the enchantment. So for example, if you had a frost enchanted sword, maybe 1 in 5 hits would do 10 frost damage. Yeah, it's just one of those things about Oblivion and Skyrim I never liked at all. It's a lazy system and it just takes me out of the game.
  8. This is how I see it. Things Oblivion Got Better: Cities - they're all walled, unique, and memorable. Every single one is memorable. The Imperial City was just absolutely great with it's circle design cut up into different sections. Every city sort of had it's own color scheme to it, which leads me to my next point. Guards - They all had their own uniform designs, their shields were sometimes different shapes, you could see their faces, etc. All of the guards wear the same helmets in Oblivion, just like in Skyrim, but at least you could see their faces. Also, you could talk to the guards and get directions, hear rumors, etc. Guilds - I've only played the Thieves' Guild in Skyrim, but I've found it to be too short and not as cool as it was in Oblivion. In Oblivion, the Thieves' Guild was all about stealing from the rich and protecting the poor. It was also VERY secretive. Most people believed it didn't even exist in the world. That was awesome. In Skyrim, instead of everyone fearing the Theives' Guild, and being apprehensive about them, everyone finds them to be a nuisance. It also seems as if everyone knows about them too. I don't know about the other guilds in Skyrim, but I always hear other players say how they are short too. I will say that the story behind the Thieves' Guild was great in Skyrim, though. The Journal - I loved how in Oblivion, after you completed checkpoints in a quest, the journal windows would pop up and give you an update. I felt more connected with everything. It was also seemed like the journal entries were written better. Classes - Being able to choose a certain class to go by is a much better format. In Oblivion, you could choose the class you wanted to be, and whichever major skills that class had, those would level up the fastest. You could still pretty much excel at every skill in Oblivion, so it wasn't that great, but at least there was a set path and you had a name for yourself. In my opinion (in Skyrim), you should choose your major skills, and then every other skill cannot be leveled up at all, and if they can, it is very slow and no perks can be selected for them. Things Skyrim Got Better: Combat - Fighting enemies is a lot more fun in this game. From the kill cams, to the way your weapons swings, to the spells, to the assassinations, etc. It's just a lot more enjoyable, and I love everything about it. Magic - Magic isn't always about combat, and I find this area much better in Skyrim. The spells are easier and more and fun to use, plain and simple. Graphics & Design - The world simply looks amazing. When I first saw the water, I was shocked at how great it looked. The armors looks great, the weapons look great, everything is designed very nicely. The spells too. I'm still amazed at how the electricity flows around your hand when you have the spell resting there. Immersion - I guess some could argue this with some of the points I've seen in this thread, but I feel the Immersion is better in this game. More people seem to be doing tasks, like wood chopping, smithing, alchemy, sweeping, etc. The conversations between people are better too. They don't always talk about mudcrabs and how vile they are. The flowing rivers, the dead bodies floating down rivers, waterfalls, bards singing at inns, marriage, the animations - they're all great. Crafting - And yes, some could argue this part too. I understand opinions differ between all of us, but I feel Skyrim excels at this, and it's quite obvious. While the crafting (alchemy, smithing, enchanting) have some issues, it's great fun from what I've experienced. I like how you have to discover the effects of ingredients by consuming them, and learning an enchantment required you to disenchant something. It's more in depth. I guess I could list more, but I don't feel like it. And yes, many of you may not agree with these, but the thread is about opinions.
  9. They're not all "go in and kill blah blah blah." That's an exaggeration. There are plenty of quests that don't require you to kill people. And when they do, there is a bigger picture to it most of the time, and the enemies you fight are just there to add more of a challenge or obstacle to overcome during the quest.
  10. I don't know if this was already said in this topic, but if you're playing on a console, why would you be on these forums? The only way it would make sense for a console player to be on these forums is if they initially tried to play Skyrim on their PC, but figured out they couldn't run it, so they bought it for their console instead. And yeah, like others have said, I hate how developers have to cater to consoles because they aren't advanced enough. I don't hate consoles though. I have an Xbox 360 that I mostly bought to play with friends.
  11. Yeah, this is annoying. I was about to make a topic on this. I want to be able to watch the whole death, and the game will only be able to load back when I click the mouse or hit the spacebar. I hate not being able to watch myself fulling fly up into the sky from a Giant, and then land on the ground again.
  12. This is definitely one of the most disappointing things about Skyrim. Yeah, the cities that are actually villages are a real downer. Not to even mention the fact that every guard has the SAME helmet that covers their whole face (I know technically every guard in Cyrodiil had the same helmet, but you could see their face), but I won't get into that here. I loved how in Oblivion, every city was walled, and every city sort of had their own color scheme & theme. The cities in that game were much more memorable, not to mention bigger.
