  1. Haldenshore

This mod adds a quaint little settlement on a new island near Seyda Neen. But times are troubled and thieves are about! There are a few sidequest, apart from the main quest, which can be found by talking to the people in Haldenshore. The main quest has you find the thieves that has taken up refuge somewhere near the town, and when you do... well, they'll be so impressed by your skills that they decide to offer you work! I won't spoil anything by saying what the quests are, but they are good and nicely scripted (As far as my limited understanding of MW-scripting goes). Bugs; When you enter the bar, be sure to save before talking to the bartender! A brawl will erupt and he wants you to stop it... But, alas, sometimes there can be no peaceful solution to problems, meaning that for some reason you can never finish this quest because when you knock either of the fighters down, they'll just continue attacking you when they wake up! This might not be a problem for you (I have managed to finish the quest once, and screwed it up about 6 times). In the readme there's also listed a bug with a parrying bracer, but I have never tried that particular bracer, so no comment! I warmly recommend this mod as it has few conflicts (Partner's Mod with the cantina is the only one I know of) and despite the above-mentioned bugs it is well done and entertaining!

    Havish

This mod adds a large island west of Vvardenfell. You'll get there through a quest given at certain stages of either the mages, thieves or fighters guild. Once in Havish there are many things you can do; You could do some work for either of the three guilds in town, solve the mystery of the strange things happening there lately, go to the casion and make some money on one of the many cool and well-scripted games, visit the bank to deposit some money or withdraw EVERYTHING... You can also buy a house or simply explore the island. I have yet to discover any bugs or conflicts! This mod is really great, and, though I have not yet finished the main quest, I have to ORDER YOU to try this one! Created by JOG who also made Haldenshore!

    Children of the Night 1

This mod adds a ship near Seyda Neen. There you will meet a beautiful and mysterious young bard, Ariela, who will join you in your travels. As time progresses you come to understand that something is not as it should be with your new companion. Your mission is simply to discover the truth behind Ariela's past and her fate. This mode involves romance and its content is of an adult nature. All in all I feel the mod runs nicely, a small bug in the ending was all I encountered. I won't recommend it as the contents of the quest didn't appeal to me, but if you want a decent romance, sure, just try it yourself! There are most likely a few conflicts, though I found none when I played it. I'm pretty sure it conflicts with at least The Partners cantina and Abigail's Petshop! There are also two sequels, if you like this one!

This is all I've got for now... I might add more later!

  2. Great initiative, Malchik! I thought this could be a fitting place to post the beginning of a conflict list I started on, and this is probably as complete as it ever will be (I just haven't got time to work on it right now)! It is a arranged alphabetically, and also contains a few bugs and notes.

    Abigail's Petshop:

    Also see: Cutthroat's Partners Mod

    Balmora Expansion

Notes: If you have mods that add houses etc. to Balmora chances are they will conflict with this massive enhancement of everones favorite town... I know that it will NOT conflict with Necesseties of Morrowind or the Bank Mod by Indestructible, which both adds houses to Balmora.

    Beyond YsGramor

Notes: The earlier versions (prior to 1.2) of this mod will have landmass conflicts with Sea of Destiny and Bloodmoon.

    Carnithus Armamentarium:

    Also see: Necesseties of Morrowind

    Complete Morrowind:

    Also see: Necesseties of Morrowind

    Cutthroat's Partners Mod:

Abigail's Petshop; will conflict with the Cantina version of Partners.

    Also see: Haldenshore

Notes: This plugin can mess up the landmass in many places, it seems to me like it's almost random. I know for a fact that it happens by the docks in Sadrith Mora. I have never had any real problems with this, but it can be annoying and ruin the flow of the landscape.

    Dweller on the Watch:

    Also see: Suran underworld

    Fishing Academy:

    Also see: Necesseties of Morrowind

    Haldenshore:

Cutthroat's Partners Mod; Bittercoast Cantina will mess up the Haldenshore landmass, even though they are on opposite sides of Seyda Neen...

    Legends of Ydumea

Notes: This is a huge project, and unfortunately it conflicts with Morrowind itself. This mod changes some dialogue so that when you get a quest where someone most follow you they will do the exact opposite of what you tell them to: If you say 'Follow me', they won't, but if you say 'Wait here', they will follow you... A funny bug. A new version has recently been released, but I have yet to try it.

    Necesseties of Morrowind:

The Fishing academy; Slight dialogue conflicts causing the NoM fish-merchants to to refuse to talk to you until you've joined the Fishing Academy.

Carnithus Armamentarium; Both Mods add a building to the same spot in Mournhold.

Primary Need; Both are hunger/thirst/sleep mods, thus the conflict is obvious as they both changes or adds the scripts on vthe same items (food, bottles etc.).

Complete Morrowind; Only conflicts with Part 1, which adds cooking to Morrowind.

The Widow Fedaris; Her house is placed in front of one of the NoM houses (outside of Caldera), it's still usable but looks weird and the landmass is somewhat unnatural.

    Also see: Suran Underworld

    NewSummon:

Wrath of the Heavens; Both mods add a spell with the same ID, hence only one of them (whichever mod you load last) is usable.

    Primary Need:

    Also see: Necesseties of Morrowind

    Suran Underworld:

Dweller on the Watch; changes the docks at Fort Frostmoth, and the same does Suran Underworld. This makes the docks look weird.

Necesseties of Morrowind; Both mods make landmass changes around Fort Frostmoth.

    The Widow Fedaris:

    Also see: Necesseties of Morrowind

    Wrath of the Heavens:

    Also see: NewSummon

  3. I think I would be banned from login on to MEO servers pretty quickly, cause if I met any

Newbs running around the White Tree shouting that they are selling 1337 bootz of L3g0L4s.
    I would kick their a**es!

Hey, how about we form one gigantic fellowship, whose goal it is to KILL all the 1337-newbs and secure that Middle Earth remains true to Tolkien? Every newb on MEO would tremble at our approach, and we would roam Middle Earth fighting battles in the name of Tolkien and praising his glory, untill the shadow (that is newbness) is forever banished from the lands... All hail the new kings! B)

And right now I could use a stand-tall-and-proud smilie... ;)

  4. Seriously - calm down!  There's absolutely no point in getting angry about the films

Yeah, I know. It's just that I got really upset when I saw New Line Cinema's logo on the books... It kind of ignited me... ;) And I guess with the recent downfall of MEMod everything reminds me that I'll never be able to explore a worthy Middle Earth. So the anger, this time, was really angled at MEO.

Sorry, but I'll pay for all the damage caused by the fire... I really got to get some help with this fire-obsession!

And I probably just commited sacrilege by swearing on LotR, too: since I'm planning on upgrading my internet-connection soon my reason for not playing mmorpg's is gone... Let's hope I find strength in these times of temptation!

  5. i think MEO looks pretty damn good...

Yeah, but you don't buy the chocolate because of it's nice wrapping...

I'm never gonna buy another of these sh*tty Middle Earth/Tolkien/LotR rip-offs! I got my very own collectors box with the three LotR books (English version; finally) today, and to my horror there was a small logo in the corner saying New Line Cinema and a picture from the movie on the box... Pale with fright I opened tFotR, and breathed a sigh of relief as it was Glorfindel who met them at the ford. You know... Why the f****** **** do they ******* allow this ******* **** to ******* happen? ***** ********!!!! At least they hadn't changed what was in the books, but still, I don't get it! What does New Line have to do with the books? At least they could have written it on the site where I ordered the books, cause I have no friggin' interest in giving New Line more money!!!

I swear on the Lord of the Rings: I will never buy Middle Earth Online! :angry2:

I'm sick of people taking advantage of ME (Meaning both me and Middle Earth!)

    Aaarrrghhh

Hmmm... What the... smells like gasoline... :whistling:

  6. Okay, sorry to go a bit off topic... Hell, I'm not touching this subject with a ten foot pole! :P I just wanted to see if you are all aware of the Middle Earth Trivia going on in the Tolkienite Lore section. I'd like to see some more activity there, since I find it one of the most rewarding threads here on the boards... But everyone seems to busy thinking of old stupid ideas to save MEMod! Er.. I mean new st... I don't... O, heck, I DO mean old stupid ideas!
  7. How much do we really know about MeMod?  We've seen a couple of screenshots, a magazine article (how much did the magazine staff see?).  None of the pieces that were worked on can be released?  Why would a project leader leave in the middle of a successful engrossing project such as this?

If you had read the recent posts in this forum, you would know that the devs are considering a new project with the material from MEMod, as such the deceit that you so subtly hint at seems very unlikely. And also should the team choose not to start a new project they have said that more will probably be released. As for now all we can do is wait for their decision. And btw. it has already been confirmed that at the time of Daerk's leaving this was not a successful project, but the beginning of one. And to finish off with words I have long desired to be able to speak myself: "Wait and see..." A decision has yet to be made, and if my dreams are fulfilled a new project will soon begin! ;)

  8. In addition, the figures suggested by Tor Anders above, as an idea, are, simply, a pipe dream that bear no relation to reality whatsoever...

It wasn't me! It was Geremeas! And I have finally come to the conclusion to just let you get your way... :( I'll try to forget MEMod, but I hope it's okay if I carry a little bit of hope with me, still. I just wanna give you a final thank you for all you have done. :bye: But if you need support at a later time, let me know... I'll be there for you.

  9. I don't like how everyone is speculating how this can still work. I'm just as shaken up about this as everyone, but be realistic and don't start dishing out hope to people who could easily be influenced to what others might have to say. The future of this project is uncertain at best, that's all we know and for the time being people just need to accept it.  There's no doubt in my mind the team is trying to figure out ways around this that can have the project continue. The constant streaming of what if's just adds more frustration to an already awful situation.

I DO like that everyone is trying to find a solution! This just confirms how strongly many people feel about the mod! And if it gives me hope... So what? I know the situation is bad and that false hope is dangerous, but at this moment I'm willing to risk that. MEMod isn't dead until we let it die. And the only thing discussing possible solutions can bring, is a solution! At worst this can only delay death, at best it can restore it to life! Of course the devs have done everything they can to solve this situation, but isn't there a small chance that they might have missed something? As far as my knowledge goes the devs are not all-knowing, and just maybe one of the fans knows a way around this problem. We should all pitch in and help the team in realising their dream, and ours. And though I don't know the depth of the situation, or who the team would be 'insulting' if they released the mod, I still believe we should try to come up with something. I, personally, don't believe that this is a question of lost income for either Vivendi or EA, or anyone else for that matter. I believe it to simply be that the release of this mod could offend someone and hence lead to law-suit. That's a risk noone wants the devs to make... Hmm, maybe just one of them could sacrifice himself... Either way we, the fans, could make a list with all or names and nationalities for the devs to use as backup to gain sympathy. With this list as proof of widespread international love for Tolkien's work maybe they could reach an agreement with 'someone'... No matter what, this list could only enhance the devs' case. If you are interested, devs, why not create an e-mail adress where people could send their names and nationalities? Even if you never get to use it, it might serve as a last show of support for your work. I'm willing to do everything I, as a fan, can! If needed I could even volunteer to coordinate such a list, though I'm sure other would be better suited!

Everyone; grab an oar and row as hell! :help:

  10. /me shoves Marxist-male without a father into the limelight. He always did like to be the center of attention..

*Chops off Marxist-Bastards head, and starts rolling around in the blood*

    "REVENGE!"

    *Suddenly stops and looks around*

"This cannot have been a one-man-thing! I need more blood!"

*Goes off on a crazed hunt to find the guilty*

Okay, I'm not gonna take this thread more off-topic, since a nice little dialogue has started here...

Suz does what he thinks is the best to do..(however i still hope he got some tricks up his sleeve

I do too... And seeing as people find hope and comfort in these latest ideas, I certainly hope it inspires everyone to try... Cause I don't want this to be over! If only I were a rich lawyer. Then I could either find a hole in the law, or pay for the whole damned thing myself! The solution must be out there... Doesn't anybody have rich daddy? :P

  11. This all makes you feel small, helpless and insignificant, doesn't it?

And just to let you know; This mod is probably the most 'fair use' of Middle Earth ever! Argf, it makes me so angry that I'm almost considering praying!

I feel we seriously need a scapegoat! Someone step up and take the blame! Only blood can justify this... :halloween:

    *Sharpens his axe*

    "STEP UP!"

  12. EA only hold the rights to make games based on the movies, while Vivendi holds the right to all game-making based on the books. I think. Doesn't matter... Both companies are in the game for the money, not for Tolkien!

But about changing the names etc. in the mod: Is it possible to do that and then release another plugin which changes the names back, independently, without breaking any silly laws? And which country's laws are being used? Would it change anything to release the mod from another country? I have absolutely no clue about such legal issues... Just pitching suggestions... Making silly suggestions is about all that I'm qualified to do, but at least I'm giving 100%! :P

  13. I don't know what to say... This came as a total shock! At first I thought this would have to be a very bad joke. Then as I realised it was not, I felt intense anger and frustration. Though I was never involved in the development, just a follower, I feel that a part of me just died! MEMod was a dream of mine! And probably all of yours, too. I just hope that you could send someone to crush a few knee-caps and get this mess sorted out! You have all my sympathy, for it is indeed a sad day. I will probably check in here out of habit, hoping to one day see you back in action.

The death of a mod, the death of a thousand dreams... :rip:

I will never forget the sparks you lit in my tired, ever-watching eyes

    Thank you and farewell :bye:
