  1. I had this same problem occurring and I believe it is related to the "1PipboyPDA.esp" . I had been using for a little bit and eventually got longer and longer load times on startup until it appeared to freeze at the BOS Soldier slide. It didn't really freeze for me, it just took a long time to load up the menus (roughly the same amount of time it takes FO3 Edit to check for conflicts on a large load order). After uninstalling the mod (Which was a PAIN due to me not reading the readme) I did not have this problem again. To uninstall Pipboy PDA you have to find a way to get into your game (Load up and make a sandwich) and choose the uninstall option from the Pipboy PDA menu. If you do NOT do this, your pipboy will be INVISIBLE after removing the mod. I went through this horrible process a few months ago, and due to confusing the cause of the problem with DarnUI and my savegame manager, I probably had more trouble than I should have. I also ignored the readme's uninstall instructions. Go read Pipboy PDA's Readme and follow those instructions to the letter, and you should have a much better experience than I did. Edited due to remembering certain things such as my inability to read the instructions.
  2. That is the marker for your current XP on DarnUI's XP bar. It looks like you had something odd happen to your current XP total and the marker moved to the far left where it thinks that the location of your current XP is in relation to the XP needed to level. Have you decreased your total XP or maybe increased your level without upping your XP through the console or with a mod recently?
  3. It seems that the Mod coloring coding [ mod ] doesn't seem to work correctly in the file comments. ex. here I'd try to give a link to the comment section of the mod, but I do not have that ability, nor do I think it's doable. I would love to be corrected on this though.
  4. Hello, I just used your guide to walk someone through moving the DLC files about. Sadly he was using a Steam installation and the files aren't where they ought to be according to your guide. I didn't get the directory where the files were from him, but could you put a disclaimer of sorts about steam installations. To solve his problem, I told him to do a file search for "Anchorage," then right-click the file that appeared and select "Open Containing Folder" to get him to the files to be moved.
  5. Good to hear. Have fun running from ferals and mutants. Also, you might want to post any other problems you will have with the game/mods/doomaggedon (and you will. We all do.) in the tech support section.
  6. I'm not familiar with how a steam installation affects FO3. The files you are after might be buried in Steams stuff instead of where you've been told to look. What you might want to do is a search for any files called anchorage on your hard drive. Assuming you have the .esm files installed (which I would think Steam would have done) it will show you those files. Just look into your C: drive hit ctrl+f and it will bring up the search fields. when it shows a file right click it and select "open containing folder." It might be phrased slightly differently form what I typed, but this should get you to the files to be moved. If it can't find anything you might have to reinstall/redownload the DLCs.
  7. Not sure you saw my edit, but did you make sure everything worked before you installed FOMM and FOSE, as in the DLC's worked with vanilla Fallout? Reason being, it sounds like those files aren't where they ought to be. EDIT: Alright, are you running XP? Did you download through windows live, steam, or did you install form a disk? When you were installing did it ask for a location, and if so, did you change the destination from the original? EditEdit: Did you download the actual files, or their installers?
  8. I think you may have gone one folder to deep. You should be in the "...\DLC" folder. Inside there you should see "Anchorage.esm, BrokenSteel.esm, PointLookout.esm", etc. It is those files that need to be moved to the data folder. there are also various .bsa files that need to be moved also. If you have not done so already, you might need to become able to see hidden folders/files. overload1977 has an explanation on how to do this, if you don't know how. I'm assuming you have XP so I quoted that part of his post. I hope this helps. Good luck. EDIT: Did you check to make sure the DLC's worked before downloading FOMM and FOSE? Silly question, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
  9. Put in spoiler tags because it contains potential spoilers. That wiki link I posted earlier can answer your question much better than my bad memory can. It may take a little digging though due to how they divide the Broken Steel and the original game's story.
  10. You can try to enable player controls, but I don't know if that will break anything or not. Just type EnablePlayerControls into the console. After doing this I advise you to talk to the guy before you do anything else to limit any bugs appearing. It might also be resulting form the quest not initiating which causes the guy to talk to you. I don't know the exact way to fix this, I advise looking at http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Death_From_Above and the other parts of the site for general bugfixes though. Good luck. hope it helps.
  11. I've had this exact problem. I ended up having to enable the girl who talks to you through the console. I may also have had to enable player controls again. I belive the exact things I typed in were: enable xx000988 EnablePlayerControls Where "xx" is the locaton in your load order where Mothership Zeta sits. Also that is the reference ID and not the Base ID. I can't remember exactly which one to use, but if you look at the wiki (which I linked farther down) you can find the other ID. I also had to enable some other parts and force the quest to move forward via the console. You can find more about console commands and the individual IDs for everything from http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki Good luck. I hope this helps. Also, I heard word that working on another DLC instead might fix this. I haven't tried that method though.
  12. The warehouse at point lookout containing the doll heads. I walked in and saw all those glowing eyes and discolored heads, did a 180 and ran almost all the way back to the boat. Would've left too if I had possessed the caps. Now the fun one. I was in the police station where red and the fellow from Big Town are being held captive. There was a skeleton at the end of the hallway on the top floor that I tripped over and caused it to twitch for a second. Ignoring this since it happens so often, I co0ntinue on my quest to rescue the two. When I return to where the skeleton was, I noticed the top half had moved about a yard down the hall, and continued to do so. It wasn't twitching and was unable to be interacted with. It looked as if it was sliding down the hallway, phasing through debris, walls, and super mutant corpses. (Also ran into my first Overlord on this excursion. He took two frag mines, a bottlecap mine, and I believe a plasma mine also before I unloaded a hunting rifle. Luckily for me I got that characters first minigun out of the deal.)
  13. This is how I did it. I still have half a GFWL card worth of points wasting away. If only I hadn't bought the other expansions' disks 3 weeks before Game of the Year came out.
  14. If you mean give them a 1-10 rating, that is no longer possible on the Nexus. That system was in place before endorsements and was removed because it didn't really work that well. I think there is a post somewhere explaining the specifics, but it ended up with many mods in the 8.5+ range and very few in the 3-8 range. While that system was in effect a 6 was seen as a poor score. I hope this helps. Edit: The official explanation http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=134794
  15. I get the same message whenever I pick the Washington server when downloading any file on the FO3 part of the nexus. The one in Texas seems to be working fine. I haven't tried the others.
  16. The command "prid" just sets the npc as the target of whatever command you put in next, that you see the name is a good thing but you have more to do. When I ran Zeta i had to do the same as an earlier user but I had to enable the npcs instead of just moving them to me. try using prid 05000988 Enable the "prid" line will target Somah, while the "enable" command causes her to actually appear in the game. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. I haven't had to perform this fix since the first (and only) time I played zeta.
  17. I know that we are talking about how this would realistically work, but I have to speak on why the caps are used in this game. Bethesda needed to put in some sort of value system on everything because that is extremely easier to implement than a bartering system. Back on topic now. I agree that settlements like Arefu and the Republic of Dave would most likely not exist. especially when you can run into a group of raiders that greatly outnumber the entire town, and are much better armed. Also, according to the fallout lore, the radiation didn't cause all of the mutations. They are also a result of the FEV being released into the atmosphere iirc. Though the virus itself seems doubtful to me (very little biological background), I'm not sure that if such a virus were created that it would change every creature so greatly, even with a 200yr period to work. Link to causes and mutations on fallout wiki http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=869073 Excellent topic btw.
  18. Go ahead and finish what you want to finish before you install any of the overhaul mods (OOO, MMM, Frans, Fcom). Once you install one of the overhauls you really need to start a new game to use them. You can of course turn them off and continue your old character later, but in my experience old characters get put on the wayside after making a new one in this game. I haven't implemented a full Fcom yet (shame on me), but I do love having OOO(Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul) and MMM (Martigan's Monster Mod) running together. And not to make matters worse, but you might want to get the Oblivion Mod Manager. If you know of Fcom you probably know of this handy tool already. Welcome the world of oblivion mods. Good luck and have fun.
  19. Loved most: Mods I remember long ago I played it without these wonderful toys, but that time is really fuzzy to me now. I'm not sure how I would live without certain overhauls and homes, not to mention the multitude of weapons, armor, and quests added. And then there are all these strange races popping out of the woodwork. It just seems to me that Cyrodil would be quite the (relatively) dull place without the hard work of all our modders. Hated: The system reqs at launch. My box at the time could barely handle the graphics and would crash much more often than standard Oblivion crashing, making it unplayable. Luckily that's fixed now, and I can fight and flee as much as I want now (RL permitting).
  20. Longest fight... I was going to try to get the armor form the mod Ayleidoon Karan. I grabbed my best equipment and 3 well armed CM partners and proceeded to Welke. I get there and see a horde of undead and necromancers from MMM. After maybe 10 minutes they are all killed, for good ( I hate the rezzing undead!). So i go to the other side of the ruin and see two of the skelly guards placed in by Ayleidoon Karan 1 archer and 1 sword wielder. Now I was warned that they would be a tough fight, so I equipped my Superhealy amulet. I then fired my sneak attack arrow thinking that it was just a simple skelly archer that would be hit and crumble to dust. He didn't. He then shot 3 arrows at full power in about 1.5 seconds at me while my 3 great kind lovely companions wailed on the swordsman. So here I was dip-duck-dive-doging my little breton rear off trying to avoid becoming some sort of porcupine race concept sketch and trying to run up and stab the blasted bowman. After 3 minutes of this I decided to help my minions and took the swordsman out in about 3 more minutes by placing him between me and the archer so the archer would kill his ally and not my wonderful self. Then, while triumphantly dodging arrows over my fallen foe, I saw the most horrible thing ever... Another blasted swordsman was running up. He must have heard his buddies up top and decided to join in the fun. Anyway, by this time my mage companion was attacking the archer (smart girl she is) so I have to go and get his attention again so she can keep whailing on it. then out of nowhere comes a few imps that decide they hate swordsman #2 and jump on his sword while my two warriors are attacking him. Back to the archer. I'm getting sick of him and pull out my cheating sword of whoop-A and start wailing on him. I see his health bar slowly ticking away where most others would be popping up to White Gold Tower from the force of the hit. I finally kill the pincushion machine, and loot his evil corpse. Me and the mage run over to help the two warriors who have been taking turns going unconscious against the swordsman and we finally kill it. I then open up my inventory, look at my spoils, close inventory, and proceed to run as far away as possible in hopes of grabbing more companions for when I actually enter the ruins. I take my second step in flight... And I get a CTD... My fight never happened. No loot. No triumph of killing the evil abominations. Nothing. The last 30-40 minutes are gone. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  21. My favorite spot other than Aranmathi and Lemunde's dimensions would be the waterfall that is between the IC and Cheydinhal. That is just the coolest place in my eyes, and one of the few where a proper dive can be performed. The only problem are those bandits that live across the road from it. If they would just be a bit quieter after a hard day of robbing travelers everything would be perfect.
  22. You can use OOO and AF together, just make sure AF is later in your load order. If you're using BOSS it should organize that for you though. And thanks for reminding me about psychic guards. I just clean installed and knew I forgot something.
  23. 1. Yes you can use all the unofficial patches together. I'm assuming you have SI and the DLC mods for them. 2. I use OOO and MMM myself. Also the AF Leveling and Quest Award Leveler 3. I highly recommend OOO I don't know about FCOM because I haven't tried Francesco's part of it, but I have always heard great things about it. I also highly recommend the OBMM and BOSS utilities. BOSS will try to auto arrange your load order to keep the mods working together well, and OBMM can be used to fix your load order on the few occasions that BOSS messes it up. Also if you want one of the best house mods, find AranMathi. There are 3 different files for it on the nexus because it's been fixed by a few different people, but those are only minor fixes. The home itself is one of the most loot horde friendly things I have seen, and it is also one of the beautiful homes out there in my opinion. 4. Install all the patches first. If you have SI I think you only need to install the 1.2046 patch. I'd like it if someone could confirm that, but I believe that's the only one you'll need. Good luck, and have fun.
  24. All hail Site Bot! The great and bot-like!
  25. What are all these shrooms doing in the infirmary? I've been in there nursing what used to be my arm. Seems that the Salsomator fires from the wrong end. The end result tastes great though.
