  1. Yes, he does. He read the relevant parts of the announcement and ToS. From an ethical point of view, he condemns the procedure, but that will not help you in any lawsuit. You would have to be able to prove that the change was not announced or tacitly implemented and that would be quite difficult.
  2. This right does not apply here. By uploading you have agreed to the ToS and thus forfeited your right for file deletion. A file can't be equated with sensitive information about the author so it doesn't belong to the right to be forgotten. That is not my opinion, but the statement of a German lawyer who specializes in Internet law and GPDR. Please do not get me wrong. I do not want to defend the actions of the operators of Nexus Mods in any way. The way of proceeding with their newly agenda is and remains disgusting from my point of view
  3. Which painter would be so stupid to surrender all rights to the museum without any compensation, just so that the painted picture can be exhibited there? Let me guess: None!
  4. @Ac3s I don't think that is only a theory. Nexus has at least 2 competitors who already offer Mod Packs. In a longer term, Nexus has no choice. They must catch up with their competitors. No one today can say with any certainty how Bethesda will handle mods when The Elder Scrolls VI is released. But I am absolutely certain that Bethesda is thinking of it. For this reason, it is absolutely illogical for me that the Nexus approach to this subject is so unprofessional. As Arthmoor pointed out in one of his previous comments: If Microsoft and Bethesda think about the subject well enough, it could usher in Nexodus very quickly
  5. I am absolutely sure that their backend could handle any kind of solution. But any other solution would endanger the business model behind it. First and foremost, it is not about making modding accessible to a bigger audience, persistance on the market is the real deal. They want a big or the biggest piece of the cake. In order to achieve this, it's worth to bite the hand that feeds. Their announcement and all other explanations are nothing but excuses. Nexus has recognized that on a long term Bethesda, Microsoft and Steam could become a threat for them (or are already one). It is very likely that even more companies jump on the moving train and offer their own solutions for distributing mods. You can already watch that more and more game developers integrate mods directly through their own launchers into the game. Thus, central distribution systems, such as that of Nexus, are heavily endangered. We have to see it as what it is. They swim in the shark basin and running danger to be eaten. No more and no less. Does this justify their actions and behaviour? Of course not! Most likely you can equate it with a panic attack. The most annoying thing about it is that so many willingly believe the lies that are being spread. The division of the community is accepted benevolently.
  6. Why do you lose yourself? You have taken party. More than once. Neutrality looks different. This whole nonsense of you, pours only more oil into the fire
  7. Your personal opinions won't change anything! You obviously didn't understand the point of view of many mod authors.
  8. Nice try. But most of your considerations are just another personal opinion and nothing more. Member since 2018 and his fith posting. That speaks for itself. Another troll to put on ignore
  9. At first it broke my heart too, but now I can live with it quite well. I may have lost a lot, but I've also gained a lot.
  10. Regarding that, I have to disappoint you. I have already obtained information from a lawyer who specializes in EU Internet law. It may well be that the ToS is not ethically correct, but from a legal point of view it is unfortunately not against the GPDR. You would need to be able to provide evidence that the changes to the ToS were tacitly made and that could be difficult.
  11. If you read through that, the commercial consideration is clearly missing. That is exactly what has changed since then
  12. The current crisis and the behavior of politicians and scientists around the world seem to have been good teachers. They showed how one can successfully manipulate the population in the direction of their own agenda, even without scientifically verifiable facts. Everything that does not correspond with their own point of view is pushed into the corner of the conspiracy theories. Critical questioning is not desired and is nipped in the bud. Either you are for me or against me. There is nothing in between. The similarities are striking
  13. I am now at an age where the behavior of a few can no longer shake me. However, experience has shown that this also leads to further conflicts. My counterpart has to argue damn well in order to be able to move me to act. If you are not ready to respond to all requests, no matter how impossible they may be, the game starts all over again. Even if you explain that a mod has turned out exactly as you imagined it, many users do not accept that. You are then inflexible and do not respond to their wishes blah blah blah ....
  14. I know all of that. Still, there is a lot more to it. You have to find a provider, choose a software package and pay for a domain. Why should I do this to myself? Just to keep dealing with ungrateful users?
  15. From a professional point of view, it would be no problem to set up my own website. I have many years of experience as a system administrator. But as i said before i think it's not worth the effort. Especially when I consider some of the comments made by Nexus members towards mod authors
  16. That's not the point at all. But I can see that some understand, some can't and others don't want to
  17. So far that has had no meaning. Older versions could easily be removed. If someone was using an older version, their problem wasn't mine. Nobody could force me to continue supporting an older version.
  18. For me, that doesn't change the fact that the planned technical implementation and all previous explanations about it are rubbish. The chosen approach neither makes sense nor is it even professional in its approach.
  19. Why should you be interested in updating your mods if you can't prevent any previous version from being used? It just doesn't make sense. This little train of thought shows me how poorly the concept has been thought out
  20. Every contribution from proponents of the changes encourages me to never want to publish anything again. It's just ridiculous how you bend reality into place. As hard as I try, I cannot find understanding for it.
  21. Look @ my profile. I think that should explain it  You mean... I'd say that you might wish to check if there are explicit permissions granted by the original authors instead of those Nexus checkboxes. Explicit permissions always take precedence. You might also consider asking mod authors for a permission to host your derivative work outside of Nexusmods. In my experience, 99% of mod authors will grant you permission. For some of the mods I have received the right to do with them whatever I want. But not for all. Many of the mod authors are gone and i can't contact them. Apart from that, I do not necessarily want to move to moddb or one of the other known pages, I don't like most of them. Most likely i would create my own webpage and host them there. But it feels like that' it's not worth the effort.
  22. Look @ my profile. I think that should explain it ;)
  23. In my case, this is unfortunately not so easy
  24. I guess it was the easiest way to get away the mod author role from my account. In this way they did not have to explain much
  25. i was kicked out from their discord only because i tried to defend a popular modder which wasn't present to defend himself. Would be interested too.
