a faster way is to install another game, and if that game doesnt black screen reset you, then you can be positive its the game doing it. no need for any hardware checking or long stress inducing testing... just a simple check if other games work,if they do,and skyrim doesnt...you have found the problem.. sure you can try for a few days to twist and tweak your system to try and fix it,but then you might find no other games are then working...and believe me,this game really isnt worth the effort until the modders get thier hands on it and fix it. [but thats a long way away yet,as the gap between CK and game release has a direct effect on the modding, the best mods come from quick CK release, but the longer it takes the more pro modders move on,leaving the amateurs to try it. and if the amateurs start releasing bug ridden mods you`ll find the games going to be more unplayable than release day. which brings me to bethesdas plan with steam to start selling you mods as dlc.[but thats for another day when they try it] the only other PC games I own are much older, such as Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II and Age of Mythology. I can say that they both work fine, but Im guessing because these games aren't that demanding on my PC due to their age that this really doesn't tell me much. I suppose you're right. I could spend hours of my time figuring out how to actually go about troubleshooting this, and then even more time actually doing the troubleshooting. Or I could just wait until the CK comes out and wait until someone creates a fix! Still if anyone else has any other suggestions, or links to any software I should try I'd still really appreciate it. And if you need more information about my PC or what mods I have already just ask. Thanks for all your input guys.
