So here's a question - never played Skyrim but will pick up the remaster for sure, which console Mods should I look out for (with any luck assuming the great Mod war of 2016 is over by then) to improve it before I start? Caveat: i'm not interested in cheat/character uplift style mods, just "improve the story" mods.

Well I had no expectations going in, maybe that's why? - and I enjoyed more or less every second. It didn't OMG *blow me* away, but I finished it rather than getting "meh" about it after a week like I have with a few games over the last year.

Obv the tone wasn't as obvious as I imagined, yeah one could describe it as "not so serious" - F4 may not be the best game I ever played but it's been a hoot from start to finish. I guess my point (if I can call it that) is that I too have had the heartache of sequel games that didn't do it for me (yes Dead Rising 2 and Dead Space 3 I'm looking at you... shame on you...shame...) but I don't get the level of vitriol I see here and at at B.net at all. TL/DR - was trying to be lighthearted, failed.

I thought I was having fun with F4, to the point where I would sneak out of bed early on the weekends to try and get to it before anyone else played. Between us in the apartment we have about 600 hours sunk into the game - which if you work it out as value per cent / penny is the least we have paid per minute of entertainment in a decade. Having started modding a little I've been reading threads on Nexus and have realised how wrong we are and how much the game must in fact suck, and that the pittance we paid for the DLC pass was not in fact a bargain but a HUGE RIPOFF! I can't believe I spent all these weeks thinking I was having fun and enjoying myself when in reality I was being hoodwinked by Bethesda. Shame on me.

And appreciated, I'll keep an eye open and make sure that anything being packed follows my naming convention.

If I'm understanding this right, would the altered .dds files (other than the ones I expect to be there which I had altered myself) show up in the list when the CK prompts you to create a pack?

On the off-chance that any other noobs are having the same issue: The "Upload Plugin and Archive to Bethesda.net" XB1 function being greyed out when you try and make an Xbox mod I thought I'd make a note of the solution here. I uninstalled the Creation Kit and Bethesda launcher and then reinstalled them - but rather than using the default suggested install location put them into my steamapps folder, In my case C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\ This not only allowed me to use the upload to XB1 function but it cleared up the hassle I was having with the creation kit not seeing the Fallout 4 .esm file so didn't have to dick around creating a shortcut to that.

Well, I'm here to beg for Mods and slash and burn if I don't get my own way obviously! Or more seriously, I've spent the weeks since the CK went live seeing if I can get my head round how it works - and I figured adding mods to my PC copy of F4 (yes I have one - I'm sure if the shop had known I also had it on console they would have kicked me out of the store but luckily they neglected to ask, lucky break for me!) would help with my learning curve. + This seemed to be the place where I could learn most by reading. Sucks if my presence here spoils your day but on the bright side, being a total clueless beginner at this I wont have much to say on any threads so you will hardly notice me. If I do find I need to type anything near you I will do it super quietly.
