  1. After a couple of years, I wanted to play another round of ME3, using texmod. I have a script that names and renames the necessary files for using texmod with origin and it went flawlessly in the past. But now I#m running into the following problem. The script does what it's supposed to do, renaming the files. But when I try to start the game over origin, texmod isn't called up, although it's named MassEffect3.exe, instead I get an Origin window telling me ME3 isn't installed.

The same happens when I manually name and rename the files. Texmod is a no show and I get the error message.

Does anyone know if Origin made it impossible to use texmod and how to circumvent this problem?

  2. I was looking forward to this game for a very long time. I watched a lot of videos and simply don't get it. You can customize your character down to the pubic hairstyle, but don't get to see it?

I know, this is about personal preferences, but I hate FP. I want to see my character, customize their outfit, their looks, see their facial expressions when talking with someone and see what they do in game. They may run their immersion argument at nauseum, my kind of immersion looks differently.

Sorry, but no third person, they won't see my money. And I doubt, a mod will change that. There's just too much missing, such as the aforementioned facial expressions and lip sync. If they haven't included that in the first place, it's just not there.

  3. Whether with the Vanilla 'factory' systems or with mods, is there ANY way to automate the production of Adhesive (any kind of adhesive, that vegetable paste being just the vanilla recipe)?

Vegetable starch is the vanilla way to create adhesives.

  4. I hope that you don't end up reinstalling your operating system. That seems to be overkill, because of a game.

That's why I recommended looking at the system logs. There's always a part of the system actually causing the crash. And that's where any troubleshotting should start. I could remedy my crashes that way, since it was my GPU giving up and buying a new card was in order.

  5.

my event viewer looks weird af though and not very user friendly lol

And yet that's the place you should be looking at. The papyrus log is next toi useless and the CC errors are common.

As I said, look under event viewer/windows logs/system. There has to be a report at the time of the crash telling you what part of your system or hardware isn't agreeing with the game. Without that knowledge it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

  6. what I would like to know is, how do you activate a sort of event viewer to see what crashed your game as well as what was the last process attempted. I remember seeing that this could be activated in f4se? but where.

In case of a crash, there's always a part of your system involved. So the first step should be to call up event viewer/windows logs/system to see a detailed report at the time of the crash. You can google the results of this querry to see how other people have dealt with that problem.

  7. turns out it was the face texture. i was so curious about it that i only ran the face texture without the other two and it still had the problem. so using 4k face by trophihunter is a no go for me i guess... kind of sad since when it worked it looked so good... any way ill try out other face texture mods if you got any suggestions i'll try em out.

now I don't know how the last problem I have happens and I cant send screens or links in my messages but my hud sometimes gets really f'd up. like the curser gets a black or dark teal box around it and when it happens in char creation I cant even se the chars face... its hard to explain...

In my opinion it's never a good approach to only use face textures. It's better to use a set of textures for the whole body. If for no other reasons apart from possible conflicts, such as 4K and 8K combined, for the neck/scalp adjustment.

  8.

thank you for your advice, im gonna try it out as soon as possible... although when you said reactivating one mod per game start did you mean one body/face texture mod, or literally every mod? because I don't know if my sanity can take starting f04 200+ without actually playing it.

also hope everybody had a wonderful thanksgiving ^^

Before you walk the whole mile, I would advice only to reinstall your texture mods. Chances are, your problem is resolved after that step. It always was in my game.

  9.

can you tell me how to do it? like I said im using 4k face and 8k body for cbbe...

If you're using CBBE as you body model, it's a pretty easy procedure. Just manullay download any CBBE texture that suits you, put it them in a folder on you desktop and replace you texture in the correspondent folder in your data.

The reason why I can't be any clearer is, there are numerous mods out there that may change that folder. I'm using unique player and followers, so my correspondent folder may differ from yours.

  10. i would send a screenshot but im kind of new to the nexus forums... but yes no eyebrows and the face is dark brown... i dont have the high tex dlc, i have 4k face mod installed and rusty face fix too... but again, it wont help

The usual way to fix it is to manually replace the textures. That may differ from player to player, depending on which body and texture mods they're using.

But rule of thumb, you have to find a set of matching textures and drop them in the appropriate folder in you data folder.

  11. ok wow nice, it seems that NAC was the culprit for my crashes. but this victory is shortlasted... as i still have the rusty face gitch and my hud is pooped.

The rusty face as in having lost eybrows, lips and being dark brown?

If so, you have to replace the textures of your character.

  12.

Bethesda has gone to the dark side, and given a big finger to the modders and fans who helped them get to where they are today.

I gather that console players are hungry for every mod that makes it their way, even if they have to pay for it, but Bethesda is losing the whole PC crowd that way. I wouldn't buy any game from them, if the usual moddability isn't guaranteed.

  13.

so fallout 1.10.138 currently is and will be the final version for me

For the moment, yes. But keep in mind, that they also upgraded the creation Kit. Meaning, every new mod will require the update. Richt now that isn't a problem, since I don't see any new must have, but who knows what the future brings with all th announced quest mods.

Btw, you only need to backup three or four files: the exe, FO4.esm, Interface.Ba2 and possibly the launcher. That's sufficient.

  14. Update (if your interested)

Found the the problem, sort of. I still don't know which mod or mods that is caused the problem. After a couple of days testing, I started a fresh game with min mods, When Freedom Calls started in the pip-boy and progressed to Sanctuary normally.

Doesn't change the fact that you overmodded your game by a long stretch. Do you really need all that stuff? I didn't read through your list, but noticed it took up almost a whole page. That's far too many for a stable game. Frankly, I'm surprised, you're able to play at all.

  15. My question is. Any one know when F4SE update is being released. I haven't even bothered with Fallout Four snice the latest update. What is the point. Un-modded Fallout is just a shoot them up arcade game with out mods.

Far as I know it is already updated. The reason why I didn't surrender to the update are the numerous reports of frame rate loss or not even being able to play at all.

  16. Why do they keep insisting on updating this game?

To cash in, of course. As long as there are people forking out a fiver for a paintjob on a power armor, this will continue.

My only advice is to back up the necessary files. exe, launcher, FO4.esm and Interface.ba2 in order to perform a rollback.

  17. Not sure how to fix this.. I am not sure if bethesda is going to release an update any time soon to fix this or i gotta wait till someone make an unofficial fix for this. Either way it kinda sucks since I am in the middle of making a video.

Well, at this point I don't think that Bethesda gives a flying F**k if their updates break the game. They're cashing in with CC-crap. There's hardly anything else to their updates than flooding you with that bloatware.

If you manage to restore you game to a playable condition, make sure to backup your exe as well as the launcher, the FO4.esm and the Interface.ba2. These files are needed to roll back to the previous version if updates go south.

  18. cossayos- While I would honestly like to believe that Bethesda is pulling something equalling a dirty trick by Microsoft, I think the problem with the missing files is more to the fact that you interrupted the process.

Possibly. But steam had no business updating in the first place. It was in offline mode, with the setting "only update when game is started".

  19. Did Steam update FO4? I know a recent patch came out this week and Beth has added new content to the Content Creation Club which may have borked many mods you have installed. So mod authors will need to update their plugins again

No, it didn't. I make it my business to only start using F4SE and have steam set to only update when game is started. It was also the first thing I checked in the data folder. No CC crap in there. I always delete that bloatware whenever I actually do an update.

No, just as I said: It deleted all the files being necessary to actually play the game. The exe, the launcher, the esm and the Interface.ba2. Probably to make me "an offer I can't refuse", to speak with the Godfather. In order to make me actually surrender to the pending update.

  20. Just a heads up.

I left my rig running overnight and when I woke up this morning, steam was doing something, for lack of a better word. I didn't give it much thought, terminated the process.

But later on I decided on playing FO4 for a bit. The first thing I noticed was that my F4SE icon on my desktop was gone. So I checked my installation folder and discovered with disgust that my exe, the launcher, the esm and the Interface.ba2 were gone also.

It's not a big problem for me, since I always have a backup containing all these files and all I had to do was replacing them in the installation folder. But something was messing with my rig and my installation big time. As in making the game unplayable unless you surrender to the latest update.

  21.

just saw your message. tried to launch through steam but it crashes on launch

    QUSETION:

where is the game installed at? I mean steam ?

    program files (x86)>steam>steamapps>common>fallout4

that's your problem in a big big way !

Not only is that meant for strictly 32bit software and the game is 64bit, it's also a heavy User account controlled folder.

your issue is not the game nor Vortex, it is where the software is installed @

That's most certainly not at the root of his problem. I know a lot of people running a stable game from that location. Me among them.

  22.

On November 20th there was an update and I forgot to disable it.

I tried rolling back by downloading the old exe file (and other BA2 files which got changed) from steam but all of a sudden 2 weeks worth of my recent save files became corrupted, I could still open them but when I save they instantly CTD.

Just a wild guess, but did you save while the update was still in place? That would explain them being corrupted.
