  1. During the last week, I tried to get to the bottom of my crash issues. It's always the same. My character runs into an invisible wall, the game freezes. Right before it crashes, for a millisecond, things start to move again, but I CTD. I don't know if the papyrus log says anything about the crash reasons, but these are always the last lines.   3. That seems to be an error/bug, with the latest version of Looks Menu or with the last Beth update. I had it too. Exact same error with a different set of mods.

  5. If I read that papyrus.log correctly, my game tries to call for a number of cc files and complains over them not being there.   6. I did verify the files several times already. Nothing missing. What gives me pause is this at the end of the papyrus.log, right before the crash. VM is freezing... That - far as I understand it - points to me calling up some menu, causing the game to pause, which I didn't do. I simply moved my character and hit an invisible wall that made my game lock up and crash.
  7. This is all cc stuff, which I don't run anyway. Otherwise the game is vanilla. I haven't got any mods installed. Though I wonder why it would even call for cc stuff, if I never bought anything.

  9. I'm pretty sure it's the last CC update. As I said, I played this game for years on medium/hiigh settings with more than a hundred mods. Yes, it crashed on occasion, but I never ran into a crash fest like this with a perfectly vanilla game on the lowest possible settings. I also kept my modded and streamlined ini files with godrays and vsync turnend off and other performance tweaks I found to be useful in the past. I refrained from using the originally, just to keep the game in it's original state, but that didn't work out either. So I replaced the files and the crashing still continued. Virtually every ten seconds. The time it takes to move between cell borders.
  10. In case any future update makes the game playable for me again, what files should I backup in order to not get screwed over by a new patch again? Is the game.exe sufficient? I just did another check, it's virtually every cell transition that crashes the game for me at the moment.
  11. Was one of my suspicions too. Funny thiing is, the update before the last, seemed to make my game more stable as if they had sneaked in something useful by accident. Then the next update came, but I'm under the impression that the problems didn't actually start with it, but a little bit later. I blamed it on one of the mods I was running back then. But that can't be the problem now, since I'm running totally vanilla on a clean install where I removed everything before restarting my rig and reinstalling after cleaning the registry. Btw, I didn't know the amount of junk CC installs with the update. I have about 650 Mbs of stuff labelled cc. That's a lot of deadweight to carry around.
  12. Seems I should can FO4 for good. I'm at my 5th complete reinstall since the problem first occured. While the prologue in Vault 111 works fine, leaving the vault results in a crash fest. I crashed about 8 times before I even reached Codsworth. Not only that - totally vanilla game - the quicksaves seem to corrupt on the way. Opening containers results in an instant freeze, followed by a crash. Crashes, apart from opening containers, seem to occur at cell transitions. When the game tries to load another cell, the game freezes and right before I'm crashing, the game starts moving again for a nanosecond. When reloading and positioning my player right in front of the supposed transition and waiting for a few seconds, it mostly works, till the next one that sends me to desktop. I'm really at a loss here, since for more than three years I played the game on medium/high settings, heavily modded, without any major issues apart from the occasional crash. Now it's virtually unplayable, since it's certainly not fun having to reload every ten to 15 seconds. I even lowered screen resolution as far as it gets and went for the lowest settings, but nothing seems to help.
  13. No, nothing like that. I hadn't any mods that came with installers. As I said, to my knowledge, everything's gone. Game + folder Folder in my documents Folder in app data Folder in NMM's install location Registry cleaned afterwards.
  14. When you say "uninstalled" i say, exactly how? Uninstalling a mod through a manager does NOT remove the files With NMM there is an option after you right click the uninstalled mod to actually delete it. This is where most people mess up. I imagine it would be the same for Vortex. All gone. I disabled and uninstalled each and every mod on NMM. I also deleted the folders. And as for your second question, I always disable cloud as well as overlays on steam..
  15. Load order txt is no longer existent, since I removed the whole folder under app data when uninstalling the game. I also checked integrity on a clean vanilla game, but as expected, it didn't come up with any missing files.
  16. I ran into an issue some days back, that my game started to CTD virtually every 10 seconds. Going by my impressions, it seems as if the game locks up at each and every cell trasition and CTDs. But it also CTDs when I stand still and don't do anything after a few seconds. Saves are loading, but chances are they load in a frozen state and CTD after 2 or 3 seconds. What I did so far was uninstalling all the mods, uninstalling the game itself and trying to run it in a vanilla state after reinstalling, but the problem persists. Now, my first question, did I overlook something when uninstalling? What I did was uninstalling via the steam client. Manually removing the folders in steamapps Manually removing the folder in my documents Manually removing the folder in app data Running registry cleaner to remove remnants of unused apps. I'm at my fourth try right now and I never used a dirty save but always started a new game in my latest efforts. Sometimes I already CTD when I try to change some facial features in character creation, sometimes I can go through the vault, but start to CTD when leaving the vault. Sometimes as early as transitioning when the blurry movie is running right before you take control of your character. I'm really at a loss here, since I'm a veteran of more than 3 years and - apart from occasional CTDS now and then - never had any problems, even with a heavily modded game. I also checked my hardware, and besides, every other game doesn't present any problems.
  17. Got a similar problem. Game ran fine until a few days ago, when I started to crash at every cell transition. Then saves started to turn corrupted. They loaded, but the game instantly locked up and it was back to desktop. I uninstalled the game, removed all the remaining folders and files manually, common/Fallout 4, the folder under documents and the folder under app data, all deleted. Cleaned the registry afterwards, reinstalled and the problem was there again with a vengeance after reinstalling. Even without any mods loaded. Totally vanilla. Do I miss some hidden files when deleting the game? I'm now at my third supposedly clean reinstall and the problem persists.
  18. Thanks for your help. I built the patch, activated it. Maybe it's just makebelief on my side, but I seem to be crashing a little less often. But I'm still crashing in the menu structure. Regardless of which menu. Carla is also still a crash hotspot as far as vendors are concerned. I'm no expert but could it be that it has something to do with the mouse? Crashes seem to happen mostly when scrolling through any given inventory or during the item exchange phase when trading with a settler or companion. Also in build or scrap mode when I am changing the POV moving the mouse.
  19. Which mods should be patched in your opinion? Far as I understood it, reading through the documentation, only files of the same kind should be turned into a bashed patch.
  20. Here you go. The entire list with vanilla plugins. What strikes me as odd is that the workshop files are interrupted by the coast DLC. I never noticed, never even looked, since I assumed that the official DLC would be in the correct order at the top of the list. Btw, in wrye bash all mod files are green.
  21. OK, game runs mostly stable, but menus are a chore. Trading with Carla, scrolling through her inventory, lockup, crash. Opening the world map, scrolling with the mouse, lockup, crash. Trading with settlers and scrolling through the inventory, lockup, crash. MCM menu, scrolling, lockup, crash. Build menu, after a certain time, lockup, crash. Pip Boy menus are crash central, while things are different with vendors. Trading with Carla are a gamble that mostly ends up in CTDs. I never once crashed with DC vendors and hardly with Goodneighbour's shops. With Bunker Hill I'm crashing occasionally while the Prydwen is stable. I can't make heads or tails of it, since it seems the least demanding part of the game, going by what data task manager provides. I attached my load order. Maybe something's wrong there.
  22. I haven't got any mods presently, since I'm just trying to create a halfway stable vanilla game before I start modding it again. What I don't get is that my system was perfectly able to shoulder FO4 at release and now it's a crash fest. I ran every test in the books, from drivers to hardware. All came back negativ, meaning, there's nothing at fault. Which I already suspected, since, as I said, every other game runs fine. One thing I tried since yesterday is to disable vsync entirely and to limit FPS to 60. Right now it seems to have done the trick. Not sure if it's a working solution, but now I try to install one mod at a time to see if it's working. This game really is the biggest pain in the ass I ever had to face, but I happen to love it with all it's mods. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
  23. It seems they make it worse with every update. I wish I had a version before the darn creation club came out. Game ran relatively stable back then. Now it's an absolute mess, crashing every ten seconds after leaving the vault. I'm about done with trying to troubleshoot my game and with Beth in general. Every other of my games are running just fine. Just this piece of sh*t gets worse over time.
  24. OK, let me start by saying that FO4 is the one and only application or game that's crashing on me. Out of more than a 100. Lately the crashes became that frequent that I uninstalled the mods and the game completely, deleted each and every FO4 file manually, did a registry clean and installed the game from scratch without any mods. Result, I crashed about ten times before even reaching Sanctuary. The errors in the event viewer are always the same. Under application "EseDiskFlushConsistency" is in beta mode and an error code 0x800000. Under system I get an display error "nvlddmkm" crashing. Sometimes it happens with a black screen on both my monitors, sometimes the game simply freezes and I'm back to desktop. For a few weeks now I can only run it in windowed borderless in order to not crash my whole rig and having to do a hard reboot. Although it's the only game presenting that kind of problem, I ran hardware checks. Memory sticks are working as well as the graphics card. Also did a clean install of the latest drivers. Game ran fine at release but with every update it became more unstable to a point where it's now rightout unplayable.
