  1. In response to post #45939830. #45965245 is also a reply to the same post. The vast majority of members paid $60 or more for the game that they are modding. Factor in all the other gaming purchases (Computer, monitor, peripherals, chair, audio, ISP...ect) and you should quickly get an idea of how much this hobby actually costs... Lets be Frank about this. Every single active member has the ability to spend $2 for a lifetime of services/data that they are already receiving.
  2. In response to post #45653830. #45670050, #45673950, #45674880, #45675735 are all replies on the same post. Good point, my $30 high watermark could be closer to $3, depending on the exact circumstances.
  3. In response to post #45653830. #45670050, #45673950 are all replies on the same post. Good question. Factoring all my usage, I open well over a thousand Nexus pages every year. Using @lued123's ballpark, I can assume that my traffic has generated $20-$30 during my membership. So, for me, I would need to donate at least $2-$3 every year to get on the level. #goals :p
  4. I want to thank the administration and the advertisers for making the Nexus available. Personally speaking on my own behalf, it has been a largely positive experience over the years. As a long running (free using) member, I can safely assume that my frequent heavy traffic has cost the Nexus a measurable amount of resources over the years. In that regard, it will be my pleasure to support the Nexus at my earliest financial ability. That said, I have oddly not considered the lack of advertising as factor in obtaining a Premium membership. The ads here have never presented themselves as an issue for me, and I've never seen advertisements here that I thought were inappropriate... Then again, I look past them altogether. The price I have paid looking at banner ads is nothing compared to the joy this website has given me. Carry on. Edit: Final thoughts: My favorite online forum operates solely on donations. Granted, that would likely be impossible for the Nexus due to the traffic here. However, I will still encourage fellow members to kick the can (if they are able to do so)
  5. I appreciate the information supplied from the mods, and am pretty ashamed of the OP I presented here. I sincerly apologize for my arrogant tone. Plagarism absolutly deserves a broad spectrum ban. The fact he got away with this in the past after being caught is suprising. I honestly didn't mind most of the spamming for a few practical reasons, and found some of his uploaded textures quite usable. However, I'll be removing his content from my build in place of more honest mods from other authors. If he had kanged my work and posted it here as his own, I'd be furious. Good work mods. Please accept my apology for criticizing your collective efforts. It was wrong on my part.
  6. Perhaps if a mod would inform the community of what is happening here, this post would not be neccessary. After all I dont know what I dont know. However, here's what I do know. Ewi is an amazing contributer here. I have been a member going on 5 years and am always grateful to his contributions to my builds of Beth games such as New Vegas. He is a major contributer, part of why I am a member on this forum. That said, he has been silenced. I cannot send him a private message and I cannot view any of his files on the Nexus. I do not believe all of his files are under review for legitimate violations of the terms and policies of the Nexus. This sort of knee jerk reaction is a black eye on the Nexus community at large. The file/s in question should be isolated and addresed accordingly. He may or may not have posted something that violated policy, but removing all of his legitmate work in response hurts ALL of us. He holds the #1 spot on the main New Vegas index, and I cant view the file. We the community who make this website great apparently do not derserve a word about this from the moderators. Whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed for abusing their power and alienating the viewership.
  7. I need to find the guy who wrote this and buy him a cheeseburger. The Nexus could use an official Noob Video just like over at XDA forums. A cleaver little quip that lays down rules like this to keep everything efficient, and most of all useful. Keep those damn noobs from taking the whole place over. Making me scan through some pissing match about a pissing match just to find a simple fix, or reference.
