  1. I have a game that is unplayable right now. What happens is that I get captured, I'm hauled off into enemy territory. Wait forever and eventually a ransom is offered. None of that is the problem. The problem is that when you pay a ransom, you're deep into the enemy territory and surrounded by all your captive's friend's armies. The minute you pay that ransom, they're all on you like a swarm of flies and you're captured again. Surely I'm not the only one who sees the serious issue with this and is there a mod that overhauls that so you get at least one day to peacefully leave from enemy territory so you can play the game again?
  2. For some reason, I've been having a heck of a time getting mods to work for Mount and Blade II. Specifically the latest version which is 1.8.0. Very few mods work and this includes mods that were optimized for this version of the game. Most of them will crash launching from Steam. The game will launch from vortex, oddly enough, but it won't load any of the installed mod's features. So now I'm questioning whether it might be me! Maybe I'm doing or not doing something. Couple other details: I am not using any old saves from previous versions of the game. It's a fresh save. I'm mostly deploying the mods from vortex, but there are a few that I have tried to download manually with no success. So, here's the error report. If it helps, great. If not, thank you anyway. Just one small request. If you do post a suggestion, please break the steps down to as simple as possible. It's the autism. If there's even the slightest thing not clear, I'm literally not going to understand it.
  3. This could very well be user error. I've modded this game a lot in the past versions and never had any serious issues, even as the game updated. Load order has been a main culprate. And sometimes it's just reinstalling. Or uploading fewer mods at a time. For some reason, the 1.8.0 version of the game, I have been having a heck of time getting any mods to work. This includes mods that have been updated to be compatable for this version. They crash the game, or they don't load up at all. And I'm trying to figure out if it's something that I'm doing. Is it an issue with Vortex (although manually installing the mods manually hasn't helped either.) I'm just really baffled. I can see one or two mods having a few flaws and not loading. That always happens. Modders aren't perfect. But literally mod after mod after mod after mod just fails to work in one way or another and I can't figure it out.
  4. Is there a mod that would make finding Lords and Ladies easier? Right now, all you get is a vague "He was near Ov 4 days ago." Well, that doesn't tell me anything. I know there is the telepathy mod, but I was wondering if there was one out there that was a little more immersive. One where you still had to look, but it was like the original game where it said, "Near Ov and traveling to Sidir."
  5. So I was able to successfully report the bug. This bug has been there since April! and I just got scolded by admins for "retconing" an old post. Well, it's kind of still a problem and it's a big one at that because it bricks Vortex. So, I'm really surprised it hasn't be dealt with or acknowledged in anyway in all these months. What's usually the time frame you hear back from Vortex with a solution? Is there a solution?
  6. Oops, those pictures are backwards. Yes, I did press the activate button and that's how it got stuck on the screen shot you show on top... So the one on the bottom happened first and the one on the top happened next. And that's where it got stuck.
  7. I try to switch it to Mount and Blade II to mod it, and it shows this screen... forever... it won't move. This is where it has been stuck for an hour. PS, can anyone tell me how to get a log file to report a bug on Vortex? They don't give me one or show me how to produce one so they can take my complaint seriously.
  8. It doesn't work. It just bricks Vortex. Vortex is great for some games, others, they suck. Which is particularly ironic because mount and blade II has some of the easiest mod installation system in history. And Vortex can't get it right.
  9. I'm trying to mod Skyrim and Fallout 4 and when I use Vortex, the game can't read the mods! I tried to do a deployment folder. Now the deployment folder is 1) in the same drive as the game, which is my D drive. The games are in my D drive so I put my folder in the D drive. 2) not in the game path folder. Games are in D:/steam/steamapps/common/(game) and the Vortex files are (at least I'm trying) is D;/games/(game name.) I've gone to Vortex -> Settings -> Mod and set the staging folder just as I indicated. It's also been set to Hardlink deployment. I've tried to use Vortex's suggestions on the staging folder, but that still doesn't work. What am I missing? Why won't the game read the mods or Vortex install them properly?
  10. Okay here are solutions. After spending three hours figuring this out. 1. Do not do the custom install download. It's probably fine if you're already familiar with Vortex and it's components. But if you're like me and just assumed it was like Mod Manager (it isn't) then don't do a custom install. 2. Be Nice. And say sorry when you're a jack ass (sorry). 3. Don't use Vortex. I still don't like it because I think it's bloated with a lot of features, but hey, who am I to judge.
  11. Well, I have autism, so everything is rocket science to me. The thing is, I did follow the instructions. It's just not working. Thinking about doing a clean install.
  12. Yes and yes. I'm thinking perhaps a clean install of Vortex might be in order.
  13. No one who has been trying to help you is a paid rep, their members like you who give up their time to help others, I suggest you adjust your attitude or seek assistance somewhere else. Okay fair enough. How do I get it from where I have it which is D:\games\Mods (note, it's not in the steam folder) to actually installing? Keep in mind, everything is claiming it's been installed. It just won't work unless I manually install it the old fashioned way.
