  1. Hello All I re-started playing Skyrim SE, had good FPS overall with Ultra setting, and Rustic weather mod, the graphic was good enough without using ENB (which I tried and didn't work out so well). Up to some points I had moments in the game when I was doing melee attacks it went freezing, stopped responding and I could only get out of it by ending Skyrim in task manager. So I started to look for the cause of it. And one post online said it could be the vsync thing. So I should turn it off in prefs.ini then let Nviida control panel take over it as the post said. I tried this method, I later realized that it didn't fix the freezing problem (could be a bath mod, which adds dirt texture to PC). when I tried to turn the whole vsync thing back to default as it made the game look really bad with all the tearing on the screen, I just started to get huge FPS drops, especailly in interiors like Understone keep and Bleakfall barrow, These are the two locations I notice the biggest FPS drop so far, from around 57+ to 25. I deleted my prefs.ini and let the game regenerate it, didn't help, still getting the huge drop. I turned graphic settings down (never bothered to do that as it went all well) and it didn't help either. Also some exterior areas I notice the effect though it is not as obvious. Does any experienced player have similar problem? Really clueless at this point now, any help or suggestions would be very welcome (just not the same one I tried and messed up the game again please), thanks all. EDIT: an unlikely reason was found, don't play it with Windows 7 compatibility mode, bad for FPS.
