Sorry Fonger, but I followed bben46's advice just to be safe. Everything worked out find and I didn't get any conflicting issues. Though I tried FCOM again and gave up on it. While I'm replying, might as well ask, is there a particular order I should install the Unofficial Patches?

I have three separate CDs: Oblivion, Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isles. I also have The Fighter's Stronghold mod. So essentially, I have all of the official mods. (Knights of the Nine comes with the other minor expansions.) I'm confused about patching though. The Knights of the Nine CD comes with a patch titled "v1.1 Final". Instead, I installed the Oblivion patch from the website (v1.2.0416). And then I install all the mods, and then I install the Shivering Isles. And then I install the Shivering Isles patch from the website. (Also v1.2.0416). Or at least, I try to. But the Shivering Isles patch gives me an error. "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." Was I not supposed to install the regular Oblivion 1.2 etc patch? Was I just supposed to install the Shivering Isles one? I read in a few places that Shivering Isles comes with a 1.2 Oblivion patch but it's not the same so I should use the newer one from the site if I want to be able to use certain mods right. When it comes to the original game, what is the install order for the game, the mods, shivering isles, and the patches? And which patches do I install in my case? And do I need to edit the registry now or something to start over?

Does BOSS work with all mods? I always thought it was just for FCOM. (Which I gave up on after following the instructions one step at a time and pinging about fifty red files in Wyre Bash afterwards.) Also, is OOO fun enough by itself to not need FCOM?

I've installed Oblivion, all official Oblivion add-ons including Shivering Isles, and all three Unofficial Oblivion Patches (regular, mods patch, shivering isles patch). When I use Oblivion Mod Manager and check for conflicts, it tells me there's a bunch of conflicts. Is this normal? Is it supposed to say there's conflicts? If not, then why am I getting conflicts? And what load order should I set in OBMM? Also, is OOO compatible with the Unofficial Patches?

Ack! Balls! Alright, this time I'm not starting a new game until I'm absolutely sure everything is perfect. I think I'm gonna have to reinstall the game though, and I'll put all my mods in the mod manager folder this time. Will FCOM mods work out alright in the mod manager folder?

According to the site, Red: Some files in the package are missing from the data directory. But that's umpossible! I haven't removed a single file from the installations. I've only deleted incompatible ESPs that BOSS told me to delete. But I haven't deleted any data files that could corrupt the packages. Could Wyre Bash be wrong somehow?
-
OK, so I'm using Wyre Bash to work FCOM. Well according to BOSS, everything is all good, but Wyre Bash is doing weird things to the mod titles. Most are in black letters with a green square to the left. That seems fine. Some titles are written in blue letters with a green square to the left. Some titles are written in green letters with a green square to the left. Some are written in black letters with a red highlight and a green square to the left. Some are written in green letters with a red highlight and a green square to the left. Some are written in black letters with a red square to the left. Some are written in green letters with a red square to the left. Some are written in green letters with a red highlight and a red square to the left. What do all these different color codings mean? I should have all the mods installed properly. I'm using BOSS and BOSS says I'm not missing anything and the mods under WyreBash list all the required mods, and all those are checked. What's with this color coding?

Ok, I've got this problem: -When an enemy dies, they turn green. I don't know if it's supposed to be like this after the mod or not, but I don't like it. Also, how do you get those transparent life, magic, and fatigue bars? I see them on every screenshot a seasoned modder posts.
-
Hey, according to the instructions, I download "python" and then download a later "python" and then I download "wyre bash" and install them in that order. Now that I've done that, how do I turn Wyre Bash on? There's no icon for it in the start menu. Just an uninstall one. Also, what on earth is python?

Wow. For a 4-post new member, you sure do know absolutely everything. Thanks for the help! Also, what's "OMOD"? Is it like Mod Manager?

Ok, I've decided to install FCOM. I was originally going to just use OOO, but I decided I might as well do as big an overhaul as I can. Do you think I made the right decision or do you think OOO is better by itself? Either way, I need help. I've got like fifty questions and "just google it!" doesn't work so well when asking specific questions. -Is FCOM compatible with all the Unofficial Oblivion Patches? -Does FCOM add anything to the Shivering Isles or Knights of the Nine content? -What on earth is "Wyre Bash" and why does the Downloads section of this page say I need it? -Which versions of each of the four big mods do I need to download? And what version of FCOM should I use? -Do I need Oblivion Mod Manager for any of this? -Besides FCOM and the four mods it unites, are there any other mods I need for this that I don't know about? -Where can I find an index of things that these mods add to the game? Thank you.
