  2. What was wrong was that i was missing something from the ini which stopped it picking things up from the directory. Once i fixed this i put the textures on the original military cap mesh. I wasn't happy with how flat the emblem looked so i decided to edit the mesh by converting it to OBJ, loading it into Maya, added the emblem and uv mapping it. Then to put it back into a nif i used outfit studio, once i did that i basically just replaced with the new mesh i had made. However now whenever i load up the game it shows up ingame (i put it on the floor in creation kit) but when i put it into my inventory and either equip it or inspect it the game crashes. So if you could be very explanatory and treat me as you would a newborn about this stuff. Also I can't edit the nif inside any program because i can only navigate my way around Maya and Maya 2015 has no NIF plugins.
  3. Oh my god, it was that. Just a small line of text in an .ini file. No way was that all i was missing this entire time, so much trail and error when it was probably working fine the entire time. :ohmy: You're a Savior for suggesting it though, :laugh: it works and appears.   4. Oh that might actually be it, because i was using other peoples mods and they weren't showing for just me either. And i've just looked and it's not there. I'm going to try clothes now.
  5. Same here, apparently you have to delete the bones that have zero weights (deleting the vertex group) but I have no idea how to open a Nif file in Maya or Blender without converting it to obj
  6. No way, i've been trying to make a simple clothing item for ages. Constantly trying to put it in the game to have it not appear, and when i equip it there's nothing there. So many painstaking hours and youtube videos, i really hope that this is because of a global issue. Wow that's annoying if it isn't my fault though, i remade it like three times.

  8. I'm going to try and do the exact same thing but with a static object to see if it's because it's a clothing item.
  9. I'm not sure what I've done wrong, i'm trying to create Boone's 1st Recon Beret and I've succeeded... almost. My first attempt I made a custom mesh for the item but I kept failing at putting it in the game. i'd use .dds for the textures, i'd use a BGSM for the material, i'd look at the Military Cap for reference on how to create my NIF file. I made a female and male version and also a GO version all exactly the same as the Military Cap NIFs but with my mesh and my material file. Anyway so once i've created the NIF files I load up creation kit and duplicate the armor and armor addon for the Military Cap and then change the names and IDs and replace the NIFs with my NIFs. In the creation kit it works, it shows up in the preview and when i put it into the map it appears in the render window. So then i place it on the floor on some part of the map, save it as a new plugin, load the plugin, go to that part of the map and nothing. It's not even invisible, it's just simply not there. So i find the ID of the item and add it to my inventory, it's there in my inventory but it's invisible, when i put it on my head the hair removes from my character but there's no hat, no shadow either. The folder layout is Data\(Textures)(materials)(meshes)\clothes\1streconberet\(beret.nif)(beret.bgsm)(beret_d/n/s.dds) If someone could help me i'd be happy to send them over my NIF files and see if you can get it to work.

Make sure to follow me on Twitter for more updates @@bonjons98 Update: Coastal Town 80% complete I haven't really touched the rest of the map today but here is a list of updates: Added a new location, a cliff side house (images below)Started adding loot and raiders around the town (image below)Added ambushing molerats to the park (aka alien crash site)Changed the size of the pier to something more similar to that of a real pier from that timeAdded street lampsWhat's next: Finish the Pier and add enemies and loot and small details And what I can achieve in an hour Does anyone know how to connect a pier to land without it looking messy, I can't find any good examples of how to do it without just sticking it into the side of island.   13. Hello, I'm working on a new project using Creation Kit for Fallout 4 called "Treacle Island". As it's not finished and I do not want to release an unfinished product and I would like some critique from you fine people as I update and work on my mod. I will also ask for help whenever I find myself stuck as I am no pro in Creation Kit. The new world will include many different and unique looking locations, here are some images: Treacle Manor exterior/interior A sunken park leading onto the Coastal Beach Town Coastal Beach Town including pier (some images obtained from creation kit excuse poor quality) What i'm doing now Making the just the map and releasing it before July for the Nvidia mod competition, this will also include vanilla loot and enemies dotted about the map including interiors and such. What I hope to do after release I will start work on a small quest, the quest will be that your character will find a functioning aircraft which is essentially a teleport which loads you into the crash site of your aircraft on Treacle Island, then you must search for either new parts or a boat, i'm unsure which one yet) to return home. I will also be looking to add new weapons for each location, for example a beach based weapon, a horror based etc... I will also want companions, armour similar to how I want weapons. I hope this impresses as I've been working on it for quite some time and i've not seen anything of this scale for Fallout 4 map mods yet. I would also like to generate some hype if it's good enough, so please share it around.
