  1. AN update on the above issue. I have narrowed down where the crash is being initiated from and its NOT my mod. It seems to be a conflict with Real Water textures. How it is becoming an issue now, I do not know since i figured it would be a required mod since i was using it. Without that mod loaded my mod loads perfectly fine and with other mods loaded as well. I will investigate this issue further and also continue working on my mod as usual. if i find a solution I will post it otherwise my mod as of right now is not compatible with RWT.
  2. My efforts to continue on my mod have been halted. I went into the game to test an interior i created and for some reason my mod is creating a crash upon loading. I cannot see why this is happening, i have not made any changes that I can perceive as to why it would do this, other than modifications i made graphically to my game itself. until i figure out why it is causing a crash I cannot continue. The only changes i made since my last test in game was messing around with my graphics. I replace dregular FXAA with RCRN and i didint like it so i reverted back. But it seems since this revert back to FXAA i am getting a crash in game. i reverted all settings to what they were before i switched to RCRN but nothing seems to work. I turned my mod off, kept the ENB and FXAA settings, and went into the game - loaded perfectly fine. i cant seem to figure out what would cause it. The save game i am loading is a new save game before mod was being active so it is clean. it is near the entrance by Volruund and the only thing i can think of is my computer is having issues displaying something and like a stubborn child it quits instead. what exactly it doesnt want to display is the quest...? If anyone has ever had this problem before your help is much appreciated!
  3. I been working on the library and study for quite a while! i have to say i am sure you will be impressed with the magnitude of the library. it has taken me a while because its solitude static and even though its a lot more modular then say winterhold statics, it still takes a while to place all the statics, get them aligned, etc. So for those of you who think all i did was copy and paste another interior, think again! statics are 99% complete, doing clutter and bookshelves. next after this is either the cathedrals or the Dwemer tower then to modifications of the mid and lower main hall. there will be a lot for the player to store things and to display them. if this is not enough for you then i suggest you raid the queen of englands palace and take that over for your personal house!
  4. Oh ok i should have something available for you to be able to video if you are still available to help on that and thank you for the offer. I also can help with the video. Incase you all don't know, My PC crashed and I lost all the mods I am... Was, working on but I just got a new PC, and will be doing Gameplays/Commentaries/Mod Showoffs. you know everything gamming ;) I'll be able to start helping possibly in a week or so, once3 i get my New PC up and running with a decent Vidcorder. alright sounds good and sorry to hear about your computer.
  5. Oh ok i should have something available for you to be able to video if you are still available to help on that and thank you for the offer.
  6. Yea i saw your forum post and could utilize that, i just do not know if you will still be around when it comes time to needing the video. when do you ship off?
  7. Yes this is what i had in mind doing at the end when im close to getting it ready for release. I was speaking with another modder who was having the same issue and said he seemed to get it resolved with creating the esp into an ESM. Currently I do however utilize the LOD method but like you said it is not fool proof, especially on someone else's system i havent tested yet. Also, it only seems to effect the tamriel worldspace and not newly created worldspaces. i havent tested any of the other vanilla worldspaces but ill assume its the same. my mod is actually created into 3 worldspaces, (might end up being more) and this was more so to help me manage what was going on in the world, improve stability and make it easier for me to make transitions for when the quest comes out. All in all it has helped out because the new worldspaces i created do not get effected by the static dissapearing act. In tamriel the only statics are there is what the player needs to see, just like what is available for view with whiterun or any other city. then the new worldspace created has all the finer details, just like any other city. There was a mod out there it seemed cool, was a mod that put all the major cities into the tamriel worldspace, alleviating the need for loading. i was advised at one point to do something like that with mine as computers could handle it, but i put mine through a lot of stress with graphics and texture upgrades and the route i went seemed to be more stable. As far as beta testing, there will be a lot that i need people to look into. some of the questions you asked will definately be asked but i will also look for clipping. i know some people dont mind statics clipping and utilizing vanilla statics kind of is hard not to do it, but i have been utilizing a nifty tool called NIFscope that allows me to alter vanilla meshes and remove certain parts of the meshes i dont need or that are causing the overlapping clip issue. has worked out great so far, and then i also think the creation kit has the same tool under the base object edit and go to edit the mesh file. If a video is what people want to showcase the castle then I will go that route. however, this hasnt been stated before but im deployed overseas and the internet is about as good as it will get so uploading a video may be costly, especially trying to showcase the size of the castle creating a very longer video which equates to a very large file. But i will keep that in mind.
  8. i still have a bit of interior work to do before i even start work on the city/castle life. although i think it will be safe to say that i will release it without the city/castle life as an initial release/beta test while i go to work on the quest. i am still working on the idea of the two being separated but still workable together and it seems sound and quite possibly that you will be able to utilize the castle during the initial release and then add in the quest without worries of "losing" anything. BUT the way it will work is that you will have to gain it back before you have access to the items. I am right now getting a lot of votes for people who want the quest instead of wanting the house mod. there will definately be two separate mods as there is enough interest for it. There is still a lot of exterior work and interior clutter than needs to be added in. as I draw nearer to the possibility of release I will let everyone know....But i should have a releasable copy within the next couple of weeks.
  9. yes that is the idea (and is on the front post) to have city and castle life. if you elect to have the castle in itself and not the quest then you can look forward to this, otherwise the quest itself will add several hours to gameplay as you your way through to ultimately rebuilding the castle and taking it as your own.
  10. yes the idea is to be able to get your spouse to stay in this house. i havent had the fortunate ability to work with that yet but from researching other mods it seems to be a hard coded thing but we will see. there is a certain mod you could download, i forget the name but it allows you to transport your spouse to wherever you want! its a spell and i am not sure how much interaction it has with environment and the limits of the NPC (considering how large my mod is im assuming the radius would have to be quite large). Yes the idea is there im just finishing up minor touches here and there and will be working on the library. i been going along the castle and making major and minor tweaks to everything from adding in clutter to changing the lighting or adding/removing static.
  11. made some major changes to the exterior. 5 pictures were added to the main posted here are the rest: http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/3696/screenshot406.png http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/6483/screenshot407.png http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/1406/screenshot408.png I did this view over the town so you can see that there is indeed LOD and it is working for the new worldspace. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1467/screenshot417j.png

  13. That is my plan as it stands, to be able to release the mod as strictly a house mod for those who want to utilize it. The quest can be added in later for those who want to utilize it. Unfortunately you will have to re-earn the castle over a long period of time through specific chains. In this case, I would advise removing everything from the castle before doing the quest because there is no real guarantee with how Skyrim's system works if the items you placed in it before the quest will persist after you have completed the quest. The questline will also be broken up into several episodes, which will require you to clear something or do something in the castle and the castle will not be fully operational until the whole quest is complete.
  14. The castle portion is almost complete. I havent even begun to work on the quest portion yet but once i complete it for those who only want it as a personal house i will have it up on Nexus. I am currently working on Nav meshes and I have to say, in world spaces its a pain in the ass to work with especially if there is a land texture below a static that you are using for the floor.
  15. this is how i can tell no one reads the front page - I said from the beginning i was trying to make this as vanilla as possible. Why? first off if i created a bunch of my own statics, with meshes and textures then it would make the file a whole lot larger to download, so its easier on the player. secondly, it adds to the lore of the game if statics that are in game are already being used. thirdly, i have no experience with a 3d modeling program. But i also said that if it comes down to in certain areas, that i would need someone's help to create my own statics and there are quite a few areas i need that in already. You do not need to apologize about an opinion you make unless you think it is a wrongful opinion but you still want to keep it. But by any means it is an opinion and I respect that. it is always good to hear the good and the bad about work you have done. I can honestly tell you that I have not played Skyrim or any other game recreationally because I have been too focused on putting this together. There are actually only 2 rooms so far that i have copied and pasted and really only deleted ownership, NPC's and markers. Those two rooms I haven't even posted pictures for. I plan on coming back to them to add a bit of originality to them. The lower hall i will admit i copied the interior from Windhelm and deleted EVERYTHING except the statics and added in what i wanted and expanded some of them. I plan on coming back to this room to improve it a lot more which is why i don't have pictures of it. The midhall, which resembles the blue palace was worked on for a week straight. i have to admit that even though it was a pain in the ass, it has a lot of functionality. what do i mean? take the winterhold statics for example: they are large statics with no room for versatility. the entryway and a piece of the center are all one static so it was hard to invent something from using those statics, so yes they do end up looking like the originals from the college because there is no real way to get around that unless i create my own statics. Solitude on the other hand, is in pieces literally. the black bar in the floor is its own static, the roof is its own static, the wall in some areas in 2 parts, etc. so i can have a bit of ingenuity when it comes to piecing that together. it took a while but it is fun once you got it together. the statics i have for the midhall are also at 2.0 scale whereas the solitude blue palace is only at 1.0 scale. about 90 percent of my mod, i have hand created everything from the object window into the render window. I even went as far as creating bookshelves, weapons racks, mannaquins, etc all from scratch because i did not want any conflict from trying to copy and paste those around. The waterfalls, the streams, the flora, all hand moved over from the object window with the exception of the tree from the archmage's quarters. I am sorry to say I am a sucker for things that already look good! As CSBrooks said, in some cases it is better to work with what you have then to try invent something that may never work. that is exactly the case here. Why would i spend an effort trying to clutter a room or add statics for an interior when they already exist and all I need to do is go in copy the items i need and delete what i don't? There will also be other mods I will use to go along with mine. why? I like how they look and I have gotten permission from their creators. there is no originality there but creativity utilizing what is available. And again it is your opinion and your obligated to that.

  18. a storyline has been added to connect the questline and the castle. let me know what everyone thinks! i actually did conduct some research and background on timelines and events to try to keep my storyline lore friendly as possible.

  20. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/4658/screenshot373f.png Okay folks so here it is, da5id2701's script at work! all the items on the table were added by interaction from the player. all items were added as if it were a bookshelf. there is still some minor display issues on it, but they may or may not be dealt with. right now certain items are stacking because of a size setting put on them. but it works exactly how i wanted it to.
  21. I suggest everyone who is interested come back every so often as i will be making changes to the initial post with updates. i haven't had time to add any pictures today sorry folks. been working on trying to get unlimited bookshelves to work with just using the script. The idea, of course with da5id2701's permission, is to be able to utilize it to be able to not just populate book shelves, but also make it so the player can decorate any other surfaces in this castle, IE tables, desks, etc... that way he is not restricted to only displaying weapons, army, and books. i want the player to be able to display other things he collects like claws and rare items. The idea is sound and should be working but it is not and I'm trying to troubleshoot it now. Also, I am looking for anyone who is good at working with meshes and textures... i want to keep this mod vanilla but there are certain things that just need altering or changing. I also need someone who is good at blending images with photoshop. send me a pm if you are interested in helping.
  22. I have had to use both in some instances. when cleaning through the CK i got some errors that were corrupting my mod files (dont ask me why?) but when i did the same changes theough TESVsnip it worked fine. So a juggle of both has been helpful. I have also found the one for the CK to be easier to use and understand once you get an idea of how its laid out. there are still a few things im not to sure about but i havent had to mess with them. Like right under worldspaces even before the cells, there are references listed. I dont know what those are for?! and maybe i overlooked this item in your tutorial but it seems you had the jist of this. Also on a side note you can quickly scroll through all the cells and world spaces or even all the lines of data by just clicking the first letter of the data line on your keyboard. for example, to scroll the world spaces click "W". for cells, click "C". and does anyone elses CK crash when you accidently click details when Skyrim.esm is selected?
  23. i was pleased at how this turned out in game... i figure i share it. i may have gotten carried away with the greenery lol.... my latest creation... Master Quarters http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/96/screenshot352.png http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/2404/screenshot353s.png http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/4999/screenshot354h.png
  24. I am dissapointed in how some of these pictures turned out. it does look a whole lot better in game with the lighting in some of these pics and i wasnt going to make adjustments so that they are picture friendly but trust me all these places look fantastic in game, although i will make changes in future. it is also dependant on what graphics settings you use and if so, what ENB and FXAA settings you are using. Kitchen, Kitchen Staff Quarters, Dining Hall http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/3808/enb2012226124743.png http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/566/enb2012226124854.png http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/8498/enb2012226125155.png http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/839/screenshot284.png http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/1544/screenshot281s.png http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/3365/screenshot282u.png and a side note... most of these pics i am uploading in the next couple of days have already been taken. So the presence of my UI (the compass) is in there but all future pics will have that taken out.
  25. surprises await.... in the blacks mithing room there is currently somewhat of a forest. i intend to add a lot more lush and greenery to the interiors. i will upload some more interior pictures tonight.
