Skyrim is a story. It unfolds differently for each person with some common main themes. Stories have characters. I currently play with eighteen characters. Asking me why some of them are female is like asking a writer why some of the characters in his book are female. I'm not a lizard, either, but I have fun playing an Argonian. Also, I've noticed that men playing female characters in MMO games is accepted, but women playing male characters is still "weird".

I've been trying different body mods, including BG Type 3, BNB, Roberts, and Body Control. My problem is that my hands have disappeared. Naked or with some clothing, such as the caravan dress, I look find. But with leather armor or legion recuit armor, I have no hands. The character is female. I have tried deleting hands files from Mesh/character/_male and texture/character/female. I have tried reinstalling BoG. I have been toggling archive invalidation with every test. Surely some miracle worker can restore my hands for me? EDIT: I found the problem. Turns out somehow it was being caused by the Community Bugfix Compilation. I disabled esp's one at a time and that one was causing it. Well I'll be a pickled pepper eater.

Yeah, this doesn't make any sense to me. I killed Caesar and wiped out the camp and nothing has changed. Hanlon still won't talk to me. None of the NCR officers acknowledge my victory. Major oversight I think. I was vilified by the Legion and was trying to get proof for Regis so I wouldn't have to wipe out the Khans. I ended up killing everyone. Apparently, no one cares.

Man those guys are sooo sloppy. I have found so many obvious bugs and just plain developer laziness. It's an isnult to the Fallout Franchise. Outrage, I say!

I untied some powder gangers who were being held by the Legion and set them free. I should get repuation for that.

Possible Mild Spoilers Ok, so I think I am all hardcore and was glad companions could die on me. But...this is getting ridiculous. Companions always die way too easy. Companions only last a few hours of play. I do not rush into combat. I am a sniper. Boone is following at a distance and Veronica is in Metal armor. Ed-E was destroyed because he rushed into battle at suicide odds. Boone was ambushed by Cazadores. Veronica lost a fight one on one with a feral ghoul. Cass was killed because an NCR MP attacked on the strip and every NCR and Securitron joined in- again, suicide odds. The AI needs to know when to run and use stimpacks. I spend every battle running up to my companions and constantly checking their health. It's silly. I am now going to set my companions essential, but it doesn't feel right. What do you guys think about this?

Over at the Bethsoft forum, Obsidian said the current patch would address performance issues. I have a fast machine and a great graphics card, btw. So I just loaded the patch and it did indeed address performance. It did a new hardware check and changed my setting from High to Medium. ha ha ha! That is BRILLIANT.

I got it to work by using the arrow keys.

In the presidential Suite, I use the terminal and it asks if I want to upgrade the Suite. I click on that and See the interface to buy upgrades, but I cannot click on any of the upgrades to buy them. I have plenty of caps. Has anyone used this feature successfully?

I'm not complaining about it being an expansion. I'm complaining about the price. I've been in game development for 15 years and I know this game costs less than half the cost of producing something like Fallout 3. If they had put more money into quality, good QA, better voice actors, and such then there would be no complaint. There is no excuse for such a sloppy mess at that cost. It's just greed. I did like one actor though. Hello again, Bittercup. We missed you. My rant continues: I just stepped into a courtyard of a hotel and got a CTD. Then I find to my delight that none of my quicksaves or autosaves exist. I just lost 8 hours of play. I don't mind the perma-death of the companins, but I agree they die too easily. One of mine had on mint condition reinforced metal armor and a powerfist and died fighting a single feral roamer ghoul. I've lost 3 for 3 companions so far and I do try to pick my fights carefully.

I love this game. K? But I would have loved Fallout 3 anything. I think the Obsidian team is sloppy. I have come across a ton of landscape gaps. I have fallen through a rock and gotten stuck already. Several of my enemies have gotten stuck or been swallowed by the earth upon death. I have also seen the game play "hide the corpses" where one day they are there, the next gone, and the next back again. Have had 1 CTD and many graphics glitches. So, as a former QA Tester I am saying "Sloppy". I also think the Obsidian writing team has a lousy sense of humor. The DC Wasteland had a great sense of dark, smirky humor that really worked. I'm giving this game a 7 out of 10. Partly because I was charged full price for a recycled engine, art, sound, and such. This is a mega-expansion. Not a new game. But mostly because it seems sloppy and half-assed in some ways. But I am having fun.

I'm finding the game just right. I know that I am not a tank. I pick my fights carefully. I go around guys that I don't think I can handle. I sneak a lot. By Level 8 I had a rifle with a nightscope and silencer and it helps even the odds. I bought those modifications off merchants. One thing I have noticed is that in the NV system, robotics, repair, survival skills are very important. After wild animals killed my best friend (I got away) I grabbed that animal friend perk. I play hard core at normal difficulty and have had no trouble with flies. Level 12 now and none of my combat skills are above 30. Science is 70, repair and survival are 60. Everything else is pretty low.

1. Sounds like you are not friendly to the faction attacking you. I forgot once that Iw as wearing a faction uniform and my favorite guys tried to kill me. I ran behind a rock and used a stealthboy. Otherwise, I was gonna be toast. 2. CARAVAN- I figured this out. Use the left and right arrows to pick a card from your hand. Select it with W. Now, use teh UP and DOWN arrows to put it in position. Took me an hour to figure that out. Obsidian fails on documentation AND interface.

I'm loving New Vegas despite some graphics glitches, a frozen enemy bug, and an unexplainable ctd. I love the new water and food system. I love the new Hardcore mode. Love the new faction system. Not Loving: Killcam, Mister New Vegas, Voice acting not as good as hoped, hard to sort and track craft recipes and ingredients. Also missing the humor of Fallout 3. New Vegas just doesn't have that dark smirky gallows humor. Lots of flat road out here. I need a motorcycle. Also don't feel it is fair to charge us ful price for a game that has a recycled and tweaked engine, recycled sound library, and recycled models and textures. This is a mega-expansion. Not a new game. Overall- two thumbs up and a cheesy Borat grin.

Best Buy Pre-order. Picked up yesterday with the Merc Pack. Loving the merc armor and grenade launcher, but wishing I had that canteen. A few bugs and crashes, but overall feels like Christmas morning. A whole new world to explore. Love the new food and water system, but the game really needs a beter way to sort ingredients and recipes. Documentation could be better. And the Caravan card game was hard to learn. Not regretting spending the money despite being on hard times. Oh, and I sure miss Three Dog. Mister New Vegas just doesn't do it for me.

What causes google eyes? A few of my custom races have google eyes. They are: 10 New Races http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18761 Salutrian Elves http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21732 and Wild Elves http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12172 I can live witout the Salutrian and Wild elves, but I want to solve this puzzle. I use too many mods, just like I did in Fallout, but this should be a solvable problem. I am using Beautiful People. I'm happy to do my own legwork, just point me in the right direction. I love this awesome and helpful community. I have experience using mods in Fallout, but am still learning Oblivion. I could use a pointer to a load order tutorial.

Hi gang! After years in the Wasteland I came back to Cyrodil. I am launching via OBMM or OBSE and I have to reset my audio and graphics preferences each time. How do I get them to stick? Thank you! Take one lowball bar glass, fill with ice, hold one harbor seal about six inches above glass, and twist. SealJuice.

The radiation display in the upper right corner is stuck on and displaying 1/sec even though I am not taking radiation. Is there a console command to disable it? I believe it got stuck on after installing Enhanced Weather. What I have tried: Unsintalling Enhanced weather, go indoors, heal all rads, quit and disable mod. visit Doctor. Turn off all mods. No luck.

I like Deadzen's idea. Personally, I don't give a rat about lore. I make my own lore. If I had my way, I would have a flying dragon mount and the theme song to Heavy Metal would play every time I got on it. Or a flying corvette. Either way.
