Ok, I've learned how to create backgrounds but now I have two other problems, one is the same as this person is having: http://social.bioware.com/%E2%80%8Bforum/4/topic/30/index/9011563/forum/Dragon-Age-Toolset/Toolset-General-Discussion/Problem-with-creating-custom-backgrounds-7885004-1.html He says he solved by using the community workaround, but I don't know what that is or where I can download. If someone could point the way that would be nice The other is that while my background appears, the name and description I've given it do not, and no matter what class or name I chose, when I start the game my character is still named Jaden and still is classless (with 0 on all attributes, etc.). Please someone help! What am I doing wrong. And yes, I've exported the string and talktables but still nothing, and why I am I still classless? What am I doing wrong??
  2. Okay, I got a few problems with the toolset, not the toolset itself, there's something wrong with my mods when I try to play them. Here are a few problems I've come across when I try to test my modules in-game: The NPCs don't have any items equipped, they appear in their undies (even though I gave them items, and they appear fully-equipped in the toolset itself) Hostile NPCs do not attack me, even though I've set their faction to hostile. I cannot attack anyone, including hostiles, if I try my character will just enter a battle pose and stand there doing nothing. I cannot pick-up items, or open doors or do anything except walking around (sometimes I can open doors, but if I walk really close to them, if I just click them, my PC willl just ignore the command to open them). I feel as though I'm really missing something important here, can anyone tell me what'swrong?
  3. I desperately need to learn how to create a custom background for my mod's PC, I went to the tutorial in the toolset wiki, but it's completely bogus, it doesn't work. I did everything it told me to do, but when started up the mod and went into the character generation, I'd still only see the standard main game backgrounds. Please, if I can't create a custom background, I won't be able to make the story of my mod make any sense. Help me, tell me what I need to do!
  4. I'm currently working on a mod to make Oblivion's Fighters Guild a little more like Morrowind's. It includes: - The replacement of every single vanilla FG member with another of my own making. (At the moment the only ones who've been replaced are the ones in Bravil) - The inclusion of a leader to every chapter of the Fighters Guild (Chorrol, Anvil, Skingrad, Cheydinhal, Bravil, Leyawiin and Bruma), all of whom give out quests to the player (at the moment, only Bravil's is near completion. The other cities haven't even been touched upon yet) - The replacement of every vanilla FG quest with others of my own making (again, at the moment, this only applies to Bravil) I've hit a small snag though, you see, since the idea is to allow the player to go to any Guild chapter he wishes and complete the missions in any order he wants, I can't just make it so he's ready to receive a promotion after X quest reaches journal stage Y. My idea was to set up a counter so that he can receive a promotion when the counter reaches number X, with every quest completed adding 1 to that counter, but I'm not sure how to do that. Can anyone explain me how, or show me to a tutorial that does? Also, feel free to leave any ideas for quests you may have. Thanks :)

I want to create a script that will make it so the player is visited by an NPC after sleeping in a safe place for X amount of hours, interrupting the character's sleep and forcing a conversation . A good example of it would be your first meeting with Lucien Lachance where he tells you to kill Rufio. Can anyone tell me how to do it, or show me to a tutorial that teaches it? Thank you.

  7. Hi, I have a problem with the construction set. When I create new actors that are either Khajiit or Argonian I get a strange error message, I can ignore them and place them down anyway, but their tails won't appear. This doesn't happen if for instance, I edit a pre-made character and place them down, only with new actors, can anyone please tell me what to do? How to fix it? Thanks.

I can't seem to add or remove spells to the characters' spellbook in the Construction Set, I drag and drop them from the spell list window to the characters' known spells window and nothing happens, they just don't appear there, same thing with deleting them, everytime I delete a spell and click ok, it just appears back at the character window when I open it again. Can you please help me?
  9. Yeah, I've been tooling around with the Creation Kit, and I finally got the dialogues to appear in-game, which is great. But the thing is, the subtitles just fly by. Now I don't have any recording software or knowledge so I can't even record silent files, so what I'd like to see is a mod that makes so a silent file plays over unvoiced lines like Elys's Universal Silent Voice Mod for Oblivion, if someone could please do that, that would be greeeaaat...

  11. Ok, I've been toying around the Creation Kit but I've already run into a big problem: I can't add dialogue. I followed Bethesda's dialogue tutorial to the letter (the only thing I changed was the location of where I put the NPC) but the dialogue still doesn't appear in-game, everytime I click to talk to him, he just says 'hi' or something, it doesn't even show the window where you select dialogue. Now I remember from the Oblivion CS that you actually needed to add topics (either through scripting or some other way) to make them appear in-game, I wonder if that's the problem here, because nowhere in Bethesda's tutorial do they show that step). If I am right, please tell me how to add topics, the CK is so different in so many ways from the CS, I'm just overwhelmed. Thanks for your time
