  1. (WARNING) The quest "Blood on The Ice" will start automaticly in Windhelm after so many visits. If you are just running in and out of town it can trigger and you can miss it. If you missed it, it will never start for you and (currently) the console fix is not very effective. If you missed it and are determined to get it one way or another, the best solution for an immediate fix is to start over and go to the graveyard everytime that you go to windhelm on the new character. If you succeed there, there's still one more bug to watch out for. When you go to decorate the house, do not buy anything until scrolling to the bottom and buying the clean the murder scene option. If you buy anything, the option to clean the murder scene will disappear and you will have the mess in your house forever.

I'm not creating a new character after spending 60 hours on this one, just for this one quest and house. This quest should be top of the list to be fixed since so many people are unable to do it.

  2. So I been trolling youtube and the forum and i still haven't seen any video of a reverse pickpocket kill

isn't it one of the perks in pickpocketing where you can put poison in you enemy

did anyone try it yet? is it possible to assasinate plp like that?

if so can you post a possible video?

    thanks!

You've been trolling youtube and the forum? Don't you mean maybe scouring or searching?

Anyway, I agree with the above poster. There is a perk for it, but it depends on the poison. The poison will do the damage it says in the description, but you could potentially place multiple bottles. A skill level of 100 would really optimize the success rate of course..

    I think he meant trawling.

  3. 1 - You no longer gain perks or Health/Stamina/Magicka upgrades after lvl 50, however your skills will continue to level up. I assume they'll raise the cap with DLC like the Fallout games did.

2 - Leveling starts out fast and slows down the higher you get.

3 - You get one perk point to spend per level but you don't have to. If there's nothing you want to spend the perk point on, you can hold on to it until you meet the requirements for perks you really want. There is no way to refund perks without using the console menu which disables achievements. Spend them wisely.

4 - Each perk unlocks the next one(s). You can't select a later perk without selecting the preceding one(s).

  4. I lovre the fact every guard is like the same guy who had an accident in a pile of radioactive goo and split himself like an ameba, they all got kneecapped, all know i'm apart of the dark brotherhood, all think their dragonborn... then turn to you and go omg your the dragonborn.

    I can't let this go: they're*, you're*

  5. @ Farem and Dan3345: It would crash whenever I walked out of the world cell I was in, regardless of which save I used, or if I fast traveled somewhere else. After another couple hours of mucking around with the 4gb loader and redoing my ini files, I think I've got my problems licked. I'll know for sure after a few hours of game play.

Man I was looking forward to drinking a few beers and playing into the wee hours of the morning, last night. As a single parent on a rotating shift at work, I don't often get the opportunity to just sit and play, and last night was that opportunity. I was pretty darn mad that it was taken away from me. Hopefully those problems are behind me now, and I can continue to enjoy the game from here on out. It was just running so well and was such a let down when they screwed it up. Let's hope the next patch fixes some issues, rather than creating more. Cheers.

Glad to hear you've managed to fix the problem but this statement is clearly not true. 51 hours of play in 11 days would indicate you get ample opportunities to sit and play. Jokes...

  6. This brings up other points... you've bought the DVD suppose you decide in a few years later to reinstall and revisit your game?... is Mommy and Daddy Corporation going to still be there supporting your old DVD and grant you the priviledge of unlocking something you've already bought a couple of years later? probably not, guess you'll have to keep buying new games, how convenient for them.

Considering Steam was released 8 years ago, was the one of the pioneers of digital distribution (which is clearly the future of the industry) and is the biggest digital distributor, I'd say it's very likely they will be around for as long as you'd want to play this game. Digital distribution is a lot more futureproof than any physical media.

P.S. Please learn the difference between 'your' and 'you're'.

  7. Really? I'm surprised anyone could be running out of arrows. I've consistently had well over 200 at any given point in the game, and I've been selling all the iron ones I get for a while now. Never bought any. Since I really focus on sneak attacks, I tend to kill enemies in 2 or 3 shots and since every other or at least every third enemy is an archer, you pick up about 17 arrows from them. If you want to stock up, I got a bunch from pick-pocketing all the guards in Markarth Tower (was just trying to level pick-pocketing) while the were sleeping. Walked out with over 200 Steel Arrows. The same would probably be true of any guard tower in any town.
  8. Probably a dumb question.

I have 5 perks available, but I can't level them in the tree I want (Destruction) because I don't have enough Destruction points. How do I acquire those?

    Thank you in advance!

Use Destruction magic or find a Destruction trainer.

  9. I agree with using a value/weight ratio when picking up items. If it's less than 10/1, I leave it. I used that ratio in Oblivion too. I've found I can easily sell everything I have in just one town. Whiterun has the Drunken Huntsman, Potion Store, General Store and two Blacksmiths. Since most of what you pick up is armour and weapons, start with blacksmiths and work your way down to the General Store. The only thing I have trouble unloading is jewellery since it tends to be worth so much and not that many vendors take it.
  10. I am currently in the midst of the quest and i didn't even knew. Here's what i've done so far:

I've done the quest about the sudden murder, which ended being surprised by the corrupt guards. i fought them off, went out and fought the rest of the city's guard off, all while i was wondering what the hell is going on. after getting away from markareth with a 'mere' 12k bounty on my head, i noticed in my journal (under "completed quests"!!) that i was supposed to get jailed to advance the story.

my question: can i still progress the quest by having myself arrested and jailed, and get rid of my bounty without having to lose my money?

Maybe just go back and get arrested?

  11. 2 dragon attacks on Falkreath so far, and two encounters near Fort Greymoor that ended like that. I don't know what happened, I even toggled the collision off just so I could go into the sky and hit him, but he just flew off.

    Coward!

Now that you mention it when I saw this it was at Fort Greymoor too.
